Hello again! We've been hard at work on new things, but in the meantime we want to send out a good 'ol bugfix update. There were some issues that needed fixed and so here's the changelog!
Added:
+ First-person player model
+ Unstuck button, returns player to their office no questions asked.
+ Flashlight cookie, looks less flat now
+ Ambiance!
Changed:
* New flashlight models
* New door prefabs, they have handles now!
Fixed:
* Having a report going when a contract ends no longer locks the game in an endless reporting state.
* Performance. I could go on about this one, but long story short the game should run considerably better now.
* Rendering issues! Previously, for compatibility, we offered the ability to force the game to use OpenGL. This was a mistake. OpenGL had heaps of rendering issues, and while they're mostly fixed we also have the option of offering DirectX12 instead, which is what we'll be doing.
* The options screen now has descriptions for most options, giving the user a better description of what they're changing
* Fixed some bugs in the resolution selector, letting it select all available resolutions instead of just some of them
Security Simulator: Nightshift is a game in the "spot-the-difference"-horror sort of mold. You use a camera system to spot "disturbances" throughout the map you're on, and report them. This game's twist is that you're in the building with the disturbances, and you can't just cozy up in your office. Your goal is to keep these disturbances at bay by reporting them. As a security guard, you also have to keep an eye on the entrances to the place you're guarding. Let a picked lock or suspicious ladder go unnoticed and you may have extra visitors. Thieves can break in throughout the night if an entrance is vulnerable, you'll have to report them too before heading over and arresting. Too many disturbances, or getting caught too close to one, may lead to a short night and not much pay. Manage everything for your whole 9-5 (PM to AM) and you'll make it out with plenty to spend. Next to the security building is a store that you can buy items from. These items help you in various ways, from flashlights that improve visibility, to snacks that give you a stamina boost! This game contains mild psychological horror, requiring the player to pay close attention to several systems, having some disturbances lock the door, and some with very humanoid appearance.
