About the game

Pip My Dice is a roguelike deck builder inspired by Balatro and the Yahtzee game. Customize different dice and use them together with powerful relics to break high scores and climb the leaderboard. 
Although very easy to learn and playable with only the mouse, you will have to understand the symbiosis between the different elements of the game to beat it. 
Take your time to evaluate what dice you should reroll to get the best combinations.
Enjoy endless replayability with the guarantee that every run will be different from the previous one, and save your favorite seeds to replay and share those you like the most. Manage your money wisely and spend it in the shop to grow your collection.

Customize your dice as much as you like to make them better and reach greater scores. Use paint, stamps, erasers, and a lot more customizers to temper the odds.
Try to find the best combos between the relics and your dice to break the game!

Features

Run Modifiers

It is now possible to add modifiers to your runs! Here is a breakdown of what you need to know about them:

    The target score multipliers and initial cash bonus are maybe not definitive. More run modifiers are planned, and I am very curious to hear your suggestions!

    Some News!

    Hello, dice people! I hope you're well and that you are ready for some dice rolls!

    Release Date

    Unfortunately, I have to push back the release date one more time, hopefully the last...

    Just kidding, everything is going according to plan, although I have to admit that it has been quite stressful. But in a bit more than two weeks from now I will finally push the big button!

    I have played it a lot now, and I'm happy with the result. It's been a long journey, but worth it all the way. Now I hope that you will like it at least as much as I do :D

    Taking down the demo on Friday

    The demo hasn't been updated in a while, and in my opinion it doesn't really reflect the quality of the game anymore. So if you have an ongoing run, make sure to finish it before Friday the 11th, 9pm UTC+2

    I will release a new version of it later based on the current state of the game, but as you can imagine, this is not the main focus for now.

    Hello, dice people :D I hope that you are doing well.
    It's been a while, but I have been continuously working on the game, and I am delighted to share with you the release date of Pip My Dice as well as some more news.

    Release Date

    PC/Linux/SteamDeck: 2025/07/25 - I hope you're hyped; I am!
    Mobile/Console: Still unsure - More info to come later.

    Detailed Features

    Since I have finished implementing most parts of the game, I can already share with you that in version 1.0.0 there will be:
    - 130 Relics
    - About 40 Face modifiers and 15 paints (Not counting value changers/ value modifiers)
    - 25 Consumables
    - 24 Bosses
    - 15 Cups
    - 4 Difficulty settings
    - 40 Steam achievements + 1 (all achievements)
    - Stats & Run History
    - Daily runs (In a very simple format, which might evolve in later updates) with dedicated leaderboards

    Rebranding

    Never forget, folks, there is nothing more permanent than a temporary fix. "FokazLabs" is one of them, and it is about time that it changes. I'm changing it to "Diving Swan Games" - I'm the swan!
    This is not really important but don't be surprised if you see this on the Steam page now; it's still just me :)

    Dice Dimensions Event &amp; Endless Mode Closed Beta

    Hello dice people, I hope you're well and that you are ready for some dice rolling!

    Dice Dimensions

    Dice Dimensions is a Steam event featuring ~60 games where dice is a main feature. There will be demos to check out, discounts, and we'll be featured as a daily deal for the first 24 hours of the event. Make sure to check out other games; lots of fun stuff is out there from very talented people :)
    Start Date: 5th of March 19:00 CET
    End Date: 12th of March 19:00 CET

    LiveStream on the latest version of PMD

    Today (4th of March) at 19:00 CET, I will be streaming from the Steam page a prerecorded run of the latest version (although not using all the available content), starting an endless mode run and clearing the first 8 stages.
    The stream will be up for the majority of the event, and I might pop by in the chat to say hi :)

    Endless mode beta

    As promised :D I can also mention that I strongly believe I will be in time for the full release; of course, life might come in the way, but I will come back with a date around the end of April.

    When

    I will start to distribute keys after the Dice Dimensions event is over.

    Content

    In the beta, endless mode is available, as well as separated leaderboards. There will be balancing, QoL features, and you will also get to fight some new bosses! A full patch note will be released after the event is over.

    Access is given in discord so make sure to join if you haven't already; the spots are limited!

    • Fixed that a Set Value modifier could be wasted on a dice face that already has that value
    • Fixed a (nasty) bug where, during exceptionnal conditions, would throw you back to the previous boss instead of your current round when reloading the run

    • The stat "Dice rolled" was incorrect, it has been fixed
    • Fixed that in some instances of using negative dice, negative money was being given
    • Fixed that the relic Golden Cutlery was accounting for dice faces not in the scoring combination

    • Fixed that playing a run on the same seed but with different cups would give different bosses

    Demo update and leaderboards reset: 2025-01-25

    Hello and best wishes for 2025!

    The demo for Pip My Dice will get an update to rotate some of the content and fix some bugs. The official date is the 25th of January. I will post the details of the update in another event

    Leaderboards reset

    Because of the content being updated, the yellow die bug being patched, etc., the leaderboards will be reset in all categories! You will also not be able to finish a run that you started on the previous version for obvious reasons. So make sure to finish your run before the update!
    I will put the previous build on a beta branch for those of you who still want to play with the current version of the yellow die, with leaderboards disabled.

    Release Date

    Unfortunately, I have pushed back the full game release to Q2 2025 :c I want to provide you with the best experience, and within the given timeframe, it's not possible.
    I hope you understand, being a solo dev with a full-time job to pay the bills is not a walk in the park!

    Endless mode

    I know that some of you are dying for endless mode; that's why I'll host a closed beta, probably in early March, for you to test it out and give feedback on, as well as other features.     Version 0.7.4-demo is ready for Next Fest!

    Hello everyone!

    I am sorry that I haven't posted here about the latest changes in the Demo, here is the whole changelog since version 0.6.3-playtest. I usually publish the changelog in discord, but I will make sure to do it here as well in the future.

    Major changes

    • Difficulty settings: In order to make the game accessible for more, the demo features 3 difficulties. The hard difficulty is the difficulty from the previous playtest; there will be more difficulty settings in the full game
    • Leaderboards are here! And they are numerous. Are you the richest, fastest, or highest-scoring player? On which difficulty setting? Is the run seeded? There is a leaderboard for all of these! Feel free to suggest more
    • Rotation of the content: In order for the demo to not be overwhelming with content for new players, and since there is no progression system to unlock different elements of the game yet, some of the relics and face modifiers (and a cup) from the playtest have been removed for the demo. Don't worry if you've lost your favorite relic, it's coming back in the full game
    • More focus on the consumables. Consumables were there already in the playtest but hardly noticeable. They play a bigger role in the demo as they are connected to more relics and some new modifiers.

    Bug fixes

    QoL

    • Added a shortcut for the settings: Esc
    • Long pressing R (2 sec) will restart the run with the same cup and difficulty. If the run is seeded, it will use the same seed. If the run is unseeded, a new random seed will be generated.
    • The drag and drop has been improved. Remember trying to put a die somewhere and it would just go back to the bottom? That's not happening anymore :)
    • Added VSync setting, enabled by default
    • Increased the visibility of the selected face in the dice customization menu
    • The end screen now shows a **Replay** button, which has the same behavior as **holding R for 2 seconds **
    • It is now possible to hover on the selected die in Dice Customization to see the modifiers' effects
    • The reward screen after a round now allows to go to the Dice Customization
    • The reward screen after a round now shows the current amount of money held by the player
    • The reward screen after a round now shows the score reached / target

    Content

    • Added 7 new face modifiers, removed 4 from the playtest for this build
    • Added 18 new relics, removed 18 from the playtest for this build
    • Added 1 new boss
    • Added a new cup
    • Added new modifiers to temper even more with the value of the dice

    Misc

    • Fixed some language/typos
    • Added animation for the consumables
    • Made it more obvious that an item is not affordable in the shop

    • Random dice now only show their values/modifiers when they're obtained
    • Added a (very) easy-to-get achievement to experiment with this feature
    • To unlock a cup, it is now necessary to win a run with the previous cup
    • Add a disclaimer that the run data will be lost if a new run is started

    Playtest 2 is live!

    After a bit of delay, I'm thrilled to say that I have now pushed a new build with a ton of changes for the playtest, you can test it right now!

    Next Fest is next! Pip My Dice will participate from October 14th to 21st with a demo that will be based on the build of this playtest. There will be more of course, and one major feature that will be included is ... ... Leaderboards

    • If you are a content creator and want to record gameplay, please make sure that you state that this is an early play test and that it doesn't reflect the quality of the final product
    • The game content has been limited to try and focus on core mechanics and fixing major problems. If things go smoothly, I will update the build with more relics/dice modifiers and longer runs
    • The game plays with the mouse only, controller is not supported yet

    Known issues, please don't report these as bugs or feedback:
    • Some animations are missing (consumables - UI transitions - Not enough juice for the score)
    • The UX for dice selection and placement is bad. I will change it at the same time that I add controller support, I have already figured out how I want it.
    • Same goes for the UX for selecting a dice face in the dice customization menu.
    • In some cases, the color transition bugs and the UI panels look bad. I haven't found out why yet, but you can press TAB to change the color palette to a random one
    • It is not yet possible to change the resolution or to switch between fullscreen/borderless
    • The paint brush hair is not always working or causes lag - I need to fix the shader
