Hello Knight Squad players!
Our game has been out for almost 4 years now but we have a bit of a news for you today. Steam has a new feature in Beta called "Remote Play Together". Using the power of streaming, this feature allows you to play Knight Squad with any of your friends online, even if they don't own Knight Squad! It's almost exactly like playing on the couch. You might experience a bit of latency but that depends on many factors such as the strength and stability of your internet connection.
It's a pretty cool feature. It fits perfectly with the spirit of Knight Squad. We have tried it internally and it works fine. Now, we would love if some of you could also try it and leave us some feedback. It's not a Knight Squad feature, it's a Steam feature so we probably won't be able to fix anything, but we like to know where we stand.
If you want to try it out and have a remote party with your friends, here are the steps.
First, you need to opt-in to the Steam Beta Updates. You'll find the drop-down menu to do so in your Steam Settings, under the Account subsection.
Second, you need to also opt-in to a specific branch of Knight Squad. You'll find the drop-down to do so in the Knight Squad Properties, under the Betas Tab.
Now, you are ready to try it, follow these steps to launch a Play Together Party :

- Fixed an issue where the player could start walking very slowly for no reason.

We're finally back from Christmas with a new build and promise for an even brighter tomorrow! We've added a couple things, tweaked a lot more and did some major fixes for the new build! If everything goes well, a beta version with the first playable online build should also be available next week after the PAX South.
In the meantime, here's the change list!
Features :
- Added the possibility to change the end condition of each game mode (Ex : 5 rounds won instead of the basic 3 in Last Man Standing)
- An ice balista is now present in multiple levels. Beware not getting hit or you'll be frozen for a while!
- Added Disco party grail map, LASERS EVERYWHERE!
- Added the option to enable or disable the V-Sync since it can cause stutters with some NVidia cards
Tweaks :
- Modified the get power up feedback to include the level of the power up your getting (Ex : Explosive Arrows - Level Max, Boots - Level 3, etc)
- Added a countdown to the stat screen
- Reworked most of the maps to change the tileset visual
- Modified a couple maps to add in fire breathing dragons
- Fire breathing dragons play a little animation when spewing fire and show smoke prior to firing.
- Animations are now fluid. Interpolation between them works properly.
Fixes :
- Fixed controller issue when a controller got disconnected
- Fixed an input issue that would sometimes (often on some computers) miss attack inputs
- Fixed the win feedback that would display the previous' game winner before showing the good one
- Fixed an issue in the stat screen where moving your joystick would mark you as ready to continue.

It's time for a little update today! Much of our efforts in the latest weeks have been on online multiplayer but we still went ahead and did a bunch of tweaks we think will make the game better! Here's a small breakdown :
Tweaks
- Characters are now about 25% bigger, making it easier to read the battlefield.
- Added shadows to block tiles and characters
- Modified the map backgrounds for the Castle and the Nature tilesets so that the players would stand out a bit more.
- Skeletons are a bit darker
- Bombs now go through other people
- The juggernaut now spawns in a predefined location instead of being randomly given to a player.
Fixes
- Fixed the blockyness of fonts in the menus.
- Fixed the freeze to stop being frozen when dead.

New update is right around the corner with a couple things! This update is mainly tweaks as we did a major change in the background that broke a bunch of things. So here's the list of changes :
Features
- Revamped CTF map and new Crystal Rush map with new map visuals! Play in the forest maps
- New song in the soundtrack!
Tweaks
- You can now unfreeze faster if you mash the attack buttons.
- Shield animation and fx when losing a shield.
- Little sound when getting points in the gladiator
- Juggernaut has changed! Being the juggernaut gives you a shield and the points are no longer doubled.
- Last man standing is now first to three instead of 10 rounds.
- Fixed the reset all power that would make you faster if you had the grail.

We added a new power up type and we would love to have your feedback on those as they might change the game a lot. Here's the list of the features :
New Features
- New global power up : Freeze. Once you touch the freeze power up, your opponents are frozen in ice for a short duration. Use this time wisely to get closer to victory.
- New global power up : Reset. Getting the reset will remove everyone's power ups and reset them back to the default sword.
- New weapon : The ripper. The ripper will throw projectiles that bounce off walls and explode in a small area of effect . Everything it touches will be damaged badly.
- Two new Juggernaut maps. The old one was removed since it was poorly adapted to the game mode.

- New Juggernaut mode! Become the badass juggernaut and minigun your enemies to sleep. Gain more points when you are the juggernaut, but also become the primary target!

As usual, feel free to comment on how you find the new content, we really like getting feedback to know how we should change things for the better. So here's the details :

- Lightning rod weapon : upon hitting the first target the lightning will accelerate towards the next closest target. Go for the longest hit spree!
- Unicorn mount : quite simply a unicorn! Find it for a funny effect!
- New Maps : A new Crystal Rush and Domination map have been added to the map roster!
- Disable Bots : You can now disable the bots when you are 2 players or more. Simply select Disabled in the bot difficulty selector. This still needs some tuning
Tweaks
- Tweaked the colors behind the power ups
- Renamed the Grail mode to Capture the Grail
Fixes
- Fixed the leaderboard to show your score when you are more than 8th position.
- Fixed the challenge so that enemies don't spawn all with a sword.
- The result screen will stay the for a maximum of 30 seconds even if nobody hits a key.
- A draw in a team based game will now show everyone as sad.
- AI fix in Tug of war map
- When winning a round in last man standing with a horse, you will no longer look like you have a horse when respawning.

- New game mode Crystal Rush! Protect your crystals while destroying the opponents' with a drill!
- New experimental soccer map with no space beside the goals.
- Added a screen at the beginning of the game letting know players the game is best played with a controller.
