I'm very proud to present what is probably the most important upgrade since the game's release! On the program: new game modes, revamped menus with multiple skins save, a seasonal theme and other surprises! [previewyoutube=NtPT7LtxPYE;full][/previewyoutube]
A short news item to let you know that you can now buy Superfluous Returnz and Little Brats! in a Steam bundle which will give you a 15% discount. Note that the discount works even if you already own one of the two games: you'll only pay the difference.
- Gamepad focus was lost on scoreboard with objectives popup - Objectives could be already checked when relaunching a game - No sprint objective was wrongly marked as failed
After the Halloween upgrade, it was only logical to bring a Christmas upgrade! On the program? A seasonal theme, new game objectives and new skins! [previewyoutube=0yPOvo6nWXk;full][/previewyoutube]
Steam lobbies were broken (could not join a Steam online game), they are now fixed.
It's Halloween in a few days, and for the occasion, the first upgrade for Litte Brats! is already available! On the program? A seasonal theme, a 1 vs 1 split-screen mode, and more! [previewyoutube=crgCU4DTqzU;full][/previewyoutube] An autumnal look Of course, the most visible feature is the introduction of seasonal scenery: for the duration of autumn (in the northern hemisphere, as the game's school is in France), playtime will take place in pastel-orange hues, with its deluge of dead leaves. Other seasonal themes will be added in future upgrades. For a few days, Halloween decorations will also be available: skeletons, bats, cobwebs... A few new skins elements have also been added to character creation. These elements will remain available afterwards, even if some are thematically linked to Halloween. 1 vs 1 mode This is a mode I'd planned to include from the very start, but which was absent from V1 due to lack of time... I've since been asked for it again, and it's now integrated into the game: the 1 vs 1 split-screen mode. This means you can now play with two people behind the same computer, sharing the keyboard or using controllers (or a controller and keyboard, etc.). New items Three new items have been added to the list of games your little brats can play:
- Display correct gamepad button names/symbols - Save gamepad config - Use saved locale instead of system to choose bots names - Increase join dialog's width to see full IP - Fix camera jumps when changing state on merry-go-round
- Client brats were not entering school - Crash if changing direction of bot on customization screen - "moving" button was not working on customization screen - Predefined bot names not updated when changing locale - Game could crash when exiting level
After a two-week delay, the game was finally released yesterday! Thanks to all those who have already bought it. It's been a lot of work, and I'm very proud of this new release. The work began just 8 months ago, and required some 400 hours of development, 70 hours of graphics, 38 hours of music, 13 hours of writing, as well as a few more hours for communication, administration, and so on. A huge thank you to all those who took part in testing this clearly multiplayer-oriented game: Frdric Reith, Antoine Lam, Lucas and Jolan, Jean-Pierre Pagat-Vergne, Monalisa Hannot, Jrmy Tardat, Booteille, Marien, Martin, Fla, Pouhiou and Squeeek.
It is with some sadness that I have to inform you that the release date of Little Brats! has been postponed by two weeks: the game will therefore be released on October 1 instead of September 18 as previously announced. The reason is simple: the latest beta tests have brought to my attention a number of bugs that indicate a noticeable instability in the game's netcode (the part that manages network communication for multiplayer). I estimate that consolidating this netcode will require a significant amount of work, and I don't think it's wise to continue planning for the release in 2 weeks (!) with this uncertainty about the quality of multiplayer. Considering that there are also other things I'd like to add before the release... Anyway, sorry for the delay. Of course, the main purpose of this delay is to offer you a great multiplayer experience, with the goal of producing a game of the highest possible quality. Better a good game late than a buggy game on time... Thanks for your patience!
In anticipation of the game's release in September, you can already generate your own little brat with the "Little Brats!" avatar generator.
This generator partially reproduces the character customization menu taken directly from the game: it's based on the same engine, Godot, and uses the same images. The only customization options missing from this version are pants, shoes and voice (for obvious reasons).
Have fun and feel free to use the produced avatars for your social media accounts, they're obviously made for it :)
This time it's official: Little Brats! will be released on September 18. Makes sense to release a playground simulator during the back-to-school month! For the occasion, the official trailer has been unveiled! [previewyoutube=oUluRvQJqxo;full][/previewyoutube]
