Early on, when resources are limited and challenges are mounting, its smart to focus on essential upgrades like Health, Damage, and Attack Speed. These will give you the tools you need to survive the initial stages. As your wealth increases, its time to think strategically. If you prefer a specific weapon stylewhether ranged or meleeconsider enhancing the number of attacks it can deliver. Alternatively, investing in Critical Hit Chance and Damage can help you land harder-hitting strikes right from the start. As you progress, the Blacksmith becomes even more valuable. They offer powerful tools to refine your loadout, including Rerolls to customize your upgrades, Additional Weapon Slots to diversify your arsenal, and Tomes for early, game-changing enchantments. These features let you adapt and strengthen your strategy, ensuring youre always ready to face what lies ahead. Every Warrior has their own path to victory, and with the Blacksmiths expertise, youll have the upgrades you need to turn the tide in your favor. Several Key Features of the game can only be unlocked at the Blacksmith as the game progresses, such as:

When designing the Blacksmith feature for Royal Revolt Warriors it was important to us to provide players with a slow and steady progression of strength. No one single run, no matter if a map would be completed or not, should feel redundant to our players, since the Gold they earn can always be spent on something useful, that at the same time makes future runs less difficult. This is intended to create a sense of increasing power and battle versatility. So even if a Map proves to be too difficult at first, it can be overcome by tenacity and the help of the Blacksmith. One challenging aspect of the feature for us as developers, is making sure there is also a steady progression of Gold costs in relation to power level, and at the same time making sure the upgrades are balanced with each other. This requires constant attention since the values need to be revised whenever a new upgrade is implemented.
Creating the character of the mysterious Blacksmith was a very interesting endeavor. The design was first introduced in Royal Revolt: A Traders Tale, when the King himself initiated a cooperation between the protagonists and the smith, and has been undergoing several striking changes in its early development. In the end, we settled for the current look, sporting a Donkey mask. This not only serves as a reference to a popular character from Royal Revolt 2 but is also a nod to the god of craftsmen, metalworking and blacksmiths Hephaestus from Greek mythology, whose sacred animal was a Donkey. The design itself is shrouded in mystery, never speaking a single word, the face hidden behind a strange mask. The Blacksmiths true identity has yet to be revealed.
