A student without a roof is like a test without answersdoomed to fail! Fortunately, that wont be a problem anymore. The long-awaited Housing System is now available! Players can own their own personal housing instance, providing a space for relaxation and customization. By default, other students can stumble into your house like uninvited drunk oyajis looking for free snacks, but you can toggle visibility off if you prefer solitude.

What is Housing For?

Owning a house provides several benefits:

• Increased Maximum Energy Housing offers a higher energy cap compared to a basic apartment.
• Rest Feature Once every 20 hours, players can fully restore their energy by resting at home.
• Student Visitation By default, other students can visit your home, but you can toggle visibility off at any time for privacy.

Higher-tier housing options come with additional benefits that increases maximum energy, giving players an advantage in their daily activities. Additionally, all houses come with their own upgrades, right now there are only two upgrades available, but more will come later. In future updates, housing will be expandable, allowing players to add new rooms such as kitchens, living rooms, and more to personalize their space. Stay tuned for further improvements!

How Do I Get a House?

Housing in Sentou Gakuen: Revival is obtained through Activity Tickets, which are earned via Steam item drops during gameplay. These tickets can be traded with other students, so if youve already secured your perfect home, worry notthey wont go to waste. Currently, theyre used for housing exchanges, but more uses will be added in future updates! To upgrade your living space, head to the Staff Room and request better housing accommodations.
Next, to relocate to a different house, students must first obtain a Housing Permit issued by the Student Council. The council oversees the transfer process, ensuring that stashes, previous housing upgrades, and other personal belongings are safely moved to the new residence.

Patches, Hotfixes, Small Updates:

Below are aggregated list of changes since last patch/hotfix post:

• Temporary Change: Students no longer need to upgrade their school entrance to receive Activity Ticket drops. For now, Steam drops will trigger automatically upon launching the game to maximize testing. This will be removed in a future updateso make the most of it while it lasts!
• Added 6 variants of Player Housing: Shirogane, Akebono, Amberstone, Aozora, Hinokawa, Yamabuki.
• Added new menu on Staff Room.
• Added new menu on Residential Area.
• Added Housing Permit on Student Council.
• Added Keybindings option on settings.
• Added dialogue text size option on settings.
• Updated Review Subject window to align horizontally instead of vertically.
• Reduced spawn rate of mythical creatures on exploration zone.
• Fixed Commendation Ticket not properly dropping.
• Fixed some achievements not properly triggered despite meeting requirements.
• Fixed main menu logo placed on wrong layers.
• Fixed main menu logo blocking players with low screen resolution from starting the game.
• Fixed bald preacher not dropping any loot, he now drops you glue. His head may be shiny, but at least his hands arent empty anymore.

That said, please note a few things:

• Steam Inventory has its quirks. Weve done our best to ensure it works, but unexpected issues may still arise. If something seems off, try restarting the game firstyoud be surprised how often that fixes things. Steam Inventory (along with Steam Workshop) remains one of the most painstakingly complex features to implement on Steam, yet its documentation is about as abundant as my will to debug it.
• This is just the first iteration of Player Housing, and were not done yet. Expect additions, removals, and changes as we refine the system based on feedback and future plans. Stay on your toesyour home might look different in the next update!

Event Details

During this event, mobs will randomly drop Garbage items. Your mission? Gather as much as possible and turn them in at the Garbage Collection Site, located in the residential district near your shoddy apartment. Each piece of garbage you collect will contribute to your total score, proving that youre not just some litterbug but a model student of society!

Rewards

This is our chance to make things right! So get out there, clean up the streets, and show that were not a generation of slackers! The fate of our world (or at least our school) depends on it!

Greetings, students and future troublemakers! Principal Honoo Masato here with an important announcement regarding the Early Access of our school! So, sharpen your pencils and prepare your wits as we enter the next phase of our development.

Word of Apology

We havent kept up with our social media and stuff as we focus solely on the development, please pardon our silence. Our aim is to release the Early Access of this project in tandem with Steams Visual Novel Fest 2025 which has left us time-crunched and handcuffed. Our Early Access date is planned for March 3rd, 2025 (or March 4th, depending on your timezone) the same time Visual Novel Fest 2025 started. To check what time is it on your local city, please use the link here. We aim to have early access by that date and time. However, we still have some things to sort out with Steam. If theres a delay, we will post an announcement.

Keep Expectations in Check

As mentioned in the Store page, this project is pretty much a work in progress where there are still many features ahead of us to tackle. The reason were pursuing this route is that wed like to involve the community as we build this niche game. Keep your expectations in check when dealing with an Early Access title on Steam. We understand that some people might be put off with this Early Access tag, but worry not, but worry not, we wont charge players to test our early access game. The game is absolutely free and you can always add to your Wishlist and get notified later for the V1.0 release.

This is not a Release Version

Just to reiterate the point above. Our plan is to have early access going for at least one year before considering leaving from Early Access. This project is not a sprint, but rather a marathon. - Is it fun? - Does it have enough contents? - Does it have release blocking bugs? Those are 3 things that we will evaluate routinely before considering to depart from Early Access. If not, then updates will continue as usual. As mentioned elsewhere, the update will be delivered via a rolling release cycle with patches delivered every other week. There are no Alpha or any other versions, were working with single EA branch with the assumption of everyones running on the latest version. Due to time constraints, various features we originally planned for the Early Access launch had to be postponed and moved into the post-EA launch plan.

Progression During Early Access

Please expect some form of progression loss during this early access period as we make changes and adjustments within the game. Some progress will carry over to the V1.0 release (such as your achievement unlocks), while some wont. That being said, when the Early Access concluded we do plan to bring the final end game that is New Game+ ( (shinky), which means advancing to the next grade.) which gives reason for both previous and new players to try out the game from start, which will reward existing players while ensuring new players enrolling in our school arent left out. I would like to remind you that this is a game and not a race, so please have fun first & foremost. The details on how New Game Plus will work will be explained later, as it is still too early to discuss.

Planned Features

In an ideal world, wed like to have all of these features before the early access, but alas, time simply goes by so fast. Items on this list are on logs, but not sorted in any particular order:

• More Deep Zone Exploration. Its a randomly generated solo dungeon, and wed like to have at least seven themes by release.
• Maid System. This will work similarly to the original Sentou Gakuen. They are hireable NPCs that will assist you in combat.
• Player Housing. Right now all students are renting on an apartment procured by school. Later on, they will be able to own property that provides boosts (such as energy) and a private space where other students can visit.
• Party Based Co-Op Exploration. A harder version of dungeon that will require multiple students to clear it.
• More events. School-wide events that involve all students, as well as smaller encounters that happen within a zone.

Early Access

I need to address something important. Remember when we mentioned launching Early Access in late January? Well, plans have shifted. I come to you as a bearer of bad news: our previously mentioned early access date has been postponed. Unfortunately, our city has been experiencing severe weather conditions that have led to significant flooding in many areas. This unexpected boss battle against Mother Nature, combined with an ongoing influenza outbreak affecting our team members, has created unexpected challenges in our development. These setbacks have not only disrupted our original schedule but also turned our streets into impromptu swimming pools (not the fun kind). After consulting with Steamworks Support and considering the backend work that also needs to be done on their side (which might take weeks), we have a new, concrete date to share with you. Sentou Gakuen: Revival will be launching on March 3rd or 4th (depending on your timezone) of 2025. As many of you know, we're in the final stretch of preparation for our Early Access launch in late January. our development has been slowly progressing as the clock ticks forward, fueled by an endless supply of coffee and the occasional instant noodles (Indomie). Early Access Date

I know many of you have been eagerly awaiting our official early access date. We've been working tirelessly to bring you Sentou Gakuen, and I'm thrilled to announce that the date has been set to January 27th, 2025. *cough cough* This carefully chosen date will let us incorporate your feedback and ensure your return to our chaotic halls is absolutely spectacular... *ahem* Though I must mention that this particular week happens to coincide with a series of national holidays in Indonesia *cough* not that it influenced our decision-making process at all! *wheeze*

MacOS Support

Originally we intended to support only Windows and Linux, but our plans have expanded. We're happy to announce that MacOS support is coming to Sentou Gakuen! Our aim is to create a smooth experience for MacOS users, letting them wreak havoc in style. The game will run natively on Apple Silicon processors, with support launching either at early access launch or shortly afterward. Note that the older Intel-based Macs won't be supported as we're just following Apple's transition to their superior Apple Silicon architecture *ahem*. Though we must admit, those Intel Macs did make excellent space heaters during winter... but that's beside the point! Apple Silicon for... *cough* ...life!

Were excited to announce that the first iteration of the technical demo for Sentou Gakuen: Revival is now live and ready for you to download! Greetings, students!

Greetings students and future troublemakers of Sentou Gakuen. Its your Principal here with some news that has been long-overdue at this point. For so many years, our school was in a state of dereliction, forgotten like an old chalkboard covered in dust. But in this past one and half year, the development has been repicked up again from zero to revive this project. With that there are several things that I'd like to address.

The Scrapping of Old

Originally, this project was being built in Unity, but over time, the project became bogged down with so many grievances that it was hard to move forward. So, I made the decision to scrap the old build entirely. I explored several other enginesGameMaker, Defold, and morebut in the end, I chose to stick with Godot and restarted the project from the ground up. Godots ease of iteration has allowed me to quickly prototype and refine the chaos that is our school. And since it's open source, I can dive right into its inner workings and make the tweaks that fit our needs perfectly.

Technical Demo Release

Mark your calendars for September 2 or 3, 2024 (depending on where you live). This will be the first chance for you to step into the revived Sentou Gakuen and experience the new build. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3175150/Sentou_Gakuen_Revival_Demo/ This technical demo offers you a glimpse into the world of Sentou Gakuen, featuring the opening story scene and short bit of gameplay. Please note that this demo is a technical preview and may contain game-breaking bugs, progression loss, broken menus, not yet implemented and missing features. It is pretty much a tech-demo in progress and does not represent the final version of the game.

What about Early Access?

The current plan is to have early access released by the end of this year. Please note that this project is a work in progress. Updates will be issued in a rolling release format, where patches are applied frequently that may introduce bugs, cause progression issues, and similar problems. Hence, we request players to bear this in mind. Thank you for your patience, and to those who thought this school had closed its doors for goodmy sincerest apologies for the long absence. Pertamax.

Been working continuously ever since the game got greenlit. Honestly didn't expect it to be Greenlit "that soon" (yes really, hopefully it's a good sign), after all Sentou Gakuen: Revival is just a random game you stumble upon from random Indonesian dev. I've been reading and learning Steamworks API and how it would fit into our game, the features they offer really "a lots!" (overwhelming). No wonder they are now one of the largest digital distribution for PC gaming. Ok, so what we got so far. Current version is 0.01B3-Rev. Here is what we have done to the Game's client as well as other game related stuffs.

• Upgraded project files from Unity 4 to Unity 5, this breaks lot of stuffs drop such as obsolete functions, as well as obsolete plugins. This has been taken care of.
• Updated Steamworks.NET to the latest one (version 7.0.0), since the old one doesn't work
• Updated the Steam API from using Appid-480 (the SpaceWar!) into our own Appid-405680!
• This will be our Store Page, and Game Hub. Store Page is not up yet of course.
• Portal site has been updated and running. As well as its integration with Steam's OpenID. This Portal site is used to manage your SGR Game Account that you will be using for logging in to the game. Can be accessed through here http://revival.gakuen.org/ though you need Steam account to login.
• Game server has been transferred from my localhost to some cheap server in Toronto, Canada.
• Fixed, Steam Avatar not displaying the correct image on player lists
• Fixed broken menu buttons
• Fixed freeze while choosing Skill's icons
• Fixed dressing room bug 999 freeze
• Removed profile card, and it is now show the Steam Profile
• Some tweaks that hopefully reduce random disconnect
• Added Steam Stats as well as Steam Achievements to the game (12 stats, 2 achievements), will add more ridiculous achievements from now on.

FAQ Goes Here

Can we play the game? If you have tester key, then yes. You can download the game, run it, and connect to the server. But at this state, I wouldn't call that playable, since it reeks of bugs and lots of stuffs still not added yet. So far we have only given a dozen keys to internal testers. And only those people that can play the game at the moment. Can I request the tester Key? I want to test it! Please wait while we are transitioning our stuffs from our garage to the live development server. As well as we still want to add more stuffs before we start taking more people. We do plan to distribute more keys for testers by the end of October, (or November if we don't make it). All you need to do is to watch the announcements section of the game hub during those time lines. When is the game released? The game will be released under Early Access, the aim for Early Access start is by the end of 2015 or early 2016. From there we are going to continue the development of the game along with the players. What Steamworks stuffs you plan to bring to the game? Steam Stats and Steam Achievements will be the first on the list. Steam Trading Cards will be coming next as soon as we have the required assets. Steam Workshop is planned, so you can share your own stuffs such as your own story that you want to share to others, new mobs, or new zones, if it's popular enough we will be putting it live on the main game. Since Story Mode haven't been touched at all, Steam Workshop won't be available any time soon. If I play on Early Access, will my progress wiped on release? Short answer, Yes. Long answer, I don't know. Due to the state of the game now, things might get broken later on, making a wipe a viable options. So don't over invest and don't cry when there's such thing in the future! wizard
