Steam Next Fest: Thanks for Playing
First and foremost, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who took the time to play our demo during Steam Next Fest. Your participation, feedback, and enthusiasm have been absolutely invaluable. You've helped put Sentou Gakuen on the map, and for that, we can't thank you enough!
7000+ Wishlists: You're Making Us Blush!
Speaking of putting us on the map, I'm thrilled to announce that we've surpassed 7000 wishlists on Steam! This is an incredible milestone that we couldn't have achieved without your support. Every wishlist is a vote of confidence in our chaotic little school, and we're honored by your interest. If you haven't added us to your wishlist yet, what are you waiting for? Join the troublemaking party!
Demo Update: A Brief Hiatus
Now, I have an important announcement for all you eager beavers craving more content. Our beloved (or perhaps infamous?) demo version is taking a little vacation from updates. As we shift our focus back to the dev branch, the demo will remain unchanged for a while. But don't fret! While this news might ruffle a few feathers, rest assured that the demo is still available and will stay online for your troublemaking pleasure.
What's Next?
I'm afraid I'll have to leave you in suspense for just a little bit longer. Keep your eyes peeled for our next Revival Report in November 2024. We'll have more updates, more chaos, and who knows? Maybe even a surprise or two up our sleeves. As always, your continued support and patience mean the world to us. Sentou Gakuen is more than just a gameit's a community, and you're all an integral part of it. Whether you've been with us since the beginning from previous decade or you've just enrolled, know that you're helping to shape the future of our beloved school. Until next time, keep causing trouble (responsibly, of course), and remember: in Sentou Gakuen, chaos isn't just encouragedit's part of the curriculum! - Principal

How to Join:
[olist]
How It Works:
- After the event ends, we'll be checking each participant's total demo playtime in Sentou Gakuen as shown on your Steam profile.
- The more hours you have accumulated in the demo, the higher up on the list your name will appear!
- The list of attendees will be featured in the city's museum during both the early access and the release version. The name that will be immortalized is your Steam display name.
- If your Steam profile is set to private, you'll still be included, but you'll be placed lower on the list.
Reward:
- Your name here.
FAQ:
Q: How do I secure a high rank on the list? Simply play the Sentou Gakuen demo as much as you can before Steam Next Fest ends. The more hours you have accumulated overall in the demo, the better your ranking! Q: How will my playtime be tracked? Once the event ends, our dedicated Student Council will be on the lookout, checking your total demo playtime on Steam through your profile. To ensure they can accurately tally your hours, make sure your profile is set to public during the data collection days! Q: Do I need to keep my Steam profile public during the entire event? No, you only need to set your profile to public when we pull the data on October 22-25. After that, feel free to switch it back to private! Q: What happens if my profile is private? We will still include your name, but you'll be placed lower on the list, regardless of your total playtime. Thank you for being part of the Sentou Gakuen community! Lets make this Next Fest unforgettable, and may your names forever be remembered in the halls of our city museum when the early access version arrives. Now you can proudly say, "I belong in the museum!" - Principal

Greetings, students!
Greetings students and future troublemakers of Sentou Gakuen. Its your Principal here with some news that has been long-overdue at this point. For so many years, our school was in a state of dereliction, forgotten like an old chalkboard covered in dust. But in this past one and half year, the development has been repicked up again from zero to revive this project. With that there are several things that I'd like to address.
The Scrapping of Old
Originally, this project was being built in Unity, but over time, the project became bogged down with so many grievances that it was hard to move forward. So, I made the decision to scrap the old build entirely. I explored several other enginesGameMaker, Defold, and morebut in the end, I chose to stick with Godot and restarted the project from the ground up. Godots ease of iteration has allowed me to quickly prototype and refine the chaos that is our school. And since it's open source, I can dive right into its inner workings and make the tweaks that fit our needs perfectly.
Technical Demo Release
Mark your calendars for September 2 or 3, 2024 (depending on where you live). This will be the first chance for you to step into the revived Sentou Gakuen and experience the new build. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3175150/Sentou_Gakuen_Revival_Demo/ This technical demo offers you a glimpse into the world of Sentou Gakuen, featuring the opening story scene and short bit of gameplay. Please note that this demo is a technical preview and may contain game-breaking bugs, progression loss, broken menus, not yet implemented and missing features. It is pretty much a tech-demo in progress and does not represent the final version of the game.
What about Early Access?
The current plan is to have early access released by the end of this year. Please note that this project is a work in progress. Updates will be issued in a rolling release format, where patches are applied frequently that may introduce bugs, cause progression issues, and similar problems. Hence, we request players to bear this in mind. Thank you for your patience, and to those who thought this school had closed its doors for goodmy sincerest apologies for the long absence. All I ask is for more time to fully reboot this title and bring Sentou Gakuen back to life. This is what Ive got to announce for now but stay tuned for further updates in my next posts. Meanwhile you can join our Discord channel and follow our Twitter (X), the links are available below. -Principal,
Pertamax.
Been working continuously ever since the game got greenlit. Honestly didn't expect it to be Greenlit "that soon" (yes really, hopefully it's a good sign), after all Sentou Gakuen: Revival is just a random game you stumble upon from random Indonesian dev. I've been reading and learning Steamworks API and how it would fit into our game, the features they offer really "a lots!" (overwhelming). No wonder they are now one of the largest digital distribution for PC gaming. Ok, so what we got so far. Current version is 0.01B3-Rev. Here is what we have done to the Game's client as well as other game related stuffs.
- Upgraded project files from Unity 4 to Unity 5, this breaks lot of stuffs drop such as obsolete functions, as well as obsolete plugins. This has been taken care of.
- Updated Steamworks.NET to the latest one (version 7.0.0), since the old one doesn't work
- Updated the Steam API from using Appid-480 (the SpaceWar!) into our own Appid-405680!
- This will be our Store Page, and Game Hub. Store Page is not up yet of course.
- Portal site has been updated and running. As well as its integration with Steam's OpenID. This Portal site is used to manage your SGR Game Account that you will be using for logging in to the game. Can be accessed through here http://revival.gakuen.org/ though you need Steam account to login.
- Game server has been transferred from my localhost to some cheap server in Toronto, Canada.
- Fixed, Steam Avatar not displaying the correct image on player lists
- Fixed broken menu buttons
- Fixed freeze while choosing Skill's icons
- Fixed dressing room bug 999 freeze
- Removed profile card, and it is now show the Steam Profile
- Some tweaks that hopefully reduce random disconnect
- Added Steam Stats as well as Steam Achievements to the game (12 stats, 2 achievements), will add more ridiculous achievements from now on.
FAQ Goes Here
Can we play the game? If you have tester key, then yes. You can download the game, run it, and connect to the server. But at this state, I wouldn't call that playable, since it reeks of bugs and lots of stuffs still not added yet. So far we have only given a dozen keys to internal testers. And only those people that can play the game at the moment. Can I request the tester Key? I want to test it! Please wait while we are transitioning our stuffs from our garage to the live development server. As well as we still want to add more stuffs before we start taking more people. We do plan to distribute more keys for testers by the end of October, (or November if we don't make it). All you need to do is to watch the announcements section of the game hub during those time lines. When is the game released? The game will be released under Early Access, the aim for Early Access start is by the end of 2015 or early 2016. From there we are going to continue the development of the game along with the players. What Steamworks stuffs you plan to bring to the game? Steam Stats and Steam Achievements will be the first on the list. Steam Trading Cards will be coming next as soon as we have the required assets. Steam Workshop is planned, so you can share your own stuffs such as your own story that you want to share to others, new mobs, or new zones, if it's popular enough we will be putting it live on the main game. Since Story Mode haven't been touched at all, Steam Workshop won't be available any time soon. If I play on Early Access, will my progress wiped on release? Short answer, Yes. Long answer, I don't know. Due to the state of the game now, things might get broken later on, making a wipe a viable options. So don't over invest and don't cry when there's such thing in the future! wizard

About the Game
You are a student at a random high school in Japan, where delinquency, chaos, and strange occurrences are everyday events. How will you navigate this wild environment? Will you make allies or enemies? The choice is yours as you carve out your own story in this atypical school setting.Gameplay
The game is presented in a Visual Novel style, but unlike traditional VNs, the characters you interact with are not just NPCs—they are players with their own unique stories. Once you finish your first day, you're free to forge your own path without predefined storylines.
The world of Sentou Gakuen is dynamic, with a day/night cycle that affects everything from the availability of shops, accessible zones, to the spawning of mobs.
Features
- 31 Unique Zones: Explore beyond the school’s walls with 31 distinct zones, each with its own upgrades and secrets to uncover.
- Interactive Combat System: Engage in combat with NPCs in various zones where anything from pencils to sporks can be deadly weapons.
- Character Customization: Personalize your character with various bases and customization options.
- Crafting & Item System: Customize and craft your own gear to suit your playstyle, with no predefined recipes.
- Dynamic World: Experience a day/night system where certain areas change, mobs spawn at different times, and events unfold according to the time of day.
- Faction Wars: Choose between two major factions—Yami (闇) or Hikari (光)—or remain a neutral bystander as their war rages on.
Planned Features
Here are some of the planned features on our roadmap, listed in no particular order:
- Community Events: Work together with other students to improve the state of a zone and reap the rewards.
- Clubs and Guilds: Join a club or create your own. From academic groups to combat clans, there’s always a place for students with a common purpose.
- Co-op Challenges: Team up with friends and take on co-op missions like investigating the depth of Yamaki Forest and Suoh Lake.
- Steam Workshop Integration: Far down the roadmap, players can create their own visual novels within the game using a simple scripting language. You’ll have access to in-game resources (backgrounds, character sprites, music) or can upload your own assets. Once created, stories can be shared with other players.
Will you uphold the peace in Sentou Gakuen or cause more chaos? The story is yours to tell.
