Hello everyone!
I've been working hard on The Cruciball lately, and I'm thrilled to share that development is going incredibly well. I'm super excited to bring this game to the world soon! All the core features have been implemented; now, it's all about polishing and refining the experience. Honestly, it's a blast to playI find myself setting it up and playing it for fun at least once or twice a week, and each time it's not only a great time but also a fantastic workout and training tool. My accuracy when I first started playing was around 75%, and now its around 85-90%. I'm really proud of how it's all coming together. What started as a passion project with just a few moving shapes on a tiny projector in my basement has transformed into a truly unique and engaging experience.
Graphical Enhancements:
Recently, weve made significant graphical upgrades to the UI and the enemy sprites. The changes to the UI, in particular, have had a huge impact on the overall look and feel of the game. We even polled the community on these changes, so if you want to be part of the development process and influence the future of The Cruciball, make sure to follow! The goal is to make the game as fun as possible, and community feedback is a necessary part of that.
Epic Boss Fight Music:
One of the most exciting updates is the addition of unique boss music for each of the nine stages! The tracks are intense and perfectly themed to their respective stages, truly enhancing the atmosphere and getting you pumped for each boss fight. These amazing songs are composed and produced by the talented Ben Counsell.
Playtesting and Community Feedback:
Getting a large number of playtesters has been challenging due to the nature of the game, but I've managed to assemble a diverse group of testers with varying skill levels and backgrounds. Observing playtesters, listening to their feedback, and playing the game myself while striving for high scores has been invaluable for fine-tuning the balance and clarity of the upgrades, ensuring they are intuitive and easy to understand. Playtesters have also been crucial in testing the Versus mode, which has quickly become a favourite among many.
Whats Next?
There's still more work to be donebosses need better death animations, stage backgrounds could use some love, more enemy-specific sound effects need to be added, and there are several other polish items on the list. If you're excited about The Cruciball and want your voice to be heard, please feel free to wishlist the game and leave a comment! Your feedback will help shape the final product, and together, we can make The Cruciball something truly special. Look forward to trying out a free demo soon!
Thank you for your support and for taking the time to read this update. I cant wait to share more with you soon!
