Yawnoc runs well on Steam Deck. The only known issue is that the controller input in desktop mode doesn't work. As long as the Steam Deck is in game mode, Yawnoc runs fine. (It's actually how I prefer to play Yawnoc.)
MacOS is not currently supported, but the game may function with Wine or by running the source code that's included along with the game. There are a fair number of wishlisters who are using MacOS, so support may be added after release.
Thanks for checking out Yawnoc! :D
Demo patch v0.2.14 has been released! It's mostly quality of life stuff based on continued feedback, but the HighLife area has also been reworked.
Here's the main list of changes:
made the guiding arrow bigger for the early tutorials
added options to pause menu
reworked HighLife area with CRT-like shaders and new artwork (the effect can also be reduced/disabled in the settings)
added a screenshake setting
inverted main menu and try again options in the death menu for consistency
Demo patch v0.2.13 has been released to address many of the points of feedback from the demo players.
Here's the main list of changes:
improved movement physics for high speed situations
made the first 2 waves consistent in pattern choice every run
added a bunch of arrow guides for enchants, upgrades, and weapons to introduce the mechanics (you may run into these if you continue on an old save file. it'll give you one super cheap purchase of each type once per save file.)
nerfed the beacon and gave it multiple attack patterns to improve difficulty scaling
changed the death menu options
made mid-screen notifications stack so multiple are visible at once
increased "next wave" interaction range
changed and restricted the upgrades available in the demo to include simpler upgrades
changed the wave UI text to indicate that there are 10 waves per season
added dragon's breath weapon
added more downwards outline to the text to improve readability
The forest (filled with suspicious quantities of ammunition) has been invaded by cellular automata! Use various weapons, abilities, and upgrades to purge the machines in the forest before the machines take over.
The machines in Yawnoc are based on Conway's Game of Life and other cellular automata. Will you carelessly attack the machines and die to a creature of your own making or destroy the machines with precision and restore peace to the forest?
