    Futariuums Gate Weekly Devlog #7

    Hello, loyal FG\'s fans!

    This week brought steady progress for Futariuums Gate, despite a few unexpected challenges.

    Due to health reasons, we had to take a few days off something we rarely do since starting development but even so, we kept working and made solid advancements.

    We spent time organizing a large list of skills, relics, cards, potions, events, and stats that we plan to add throughout the full game. Our next step will be to review each idea carefully and decide which ones will move forward to implementation. For now, weve defined and organized the next batch of assets to work on including events, cards, relics, and CGs.

    On the art side, Nethuum completed the design of four new relics, powerful items that will play a key role in combat. He also redesigned Mayas inventory screen, removing unused elements and adding reputation tracking, as well as created the layout for the Fast Travel tutorial screen.

    Meanwhile, AB implemented several important systems:

    The Recap screen and Skip Recap screen are now fully functional.

    The Quest screen was added and refined, with clearer objectives and improved guidance.

    All story-related dungeon maps have been successfully migrated to the new Dungeon System, marking a major technical milestone.

    Futariuums Gate Weekly Devlog #6

    Another productive week for Futariuums Gate!

    Nethuum completed the full redesign of the Quests Screen, which now organizes story quests, side quests, and completed quests in a cleaner and more intuitive layout. This new structure will also streamline development for future quest content.

    The Hallway background in Mayas House received a revision as well, now featuring an interactable element that allows players to access the Safe Hub directly. In addition, Nethuum finished the fast-travel icons for the Library and Safe Hub, finalized all Sphere assets for Brianna, created the icon that indicates the next dungeon room the player will enter, and organized the art assets needed for the upcoming Recap Screen.

    On the programming side, AB brought several key features into the game. The new Quest Screen is now fully functional, and the Inventory UI has been enhanced HP and energy now update in real time. AB implemented main quest triggers, created a new system to simplify dungeon preset generation for story sequences, and added mana display in combat for both Maya and enemies.

    The Reputation System also received upgrades: players are now notified when they earn reputation points, and the system includes progressive levels. Finally, the newly added locations are now implemented in-game with their respective interactions.

    Futariuums Gate Weekly Devlog #5 [New Locations + Story Expansion & More]

    Hello loyal FG fans!

    This week brought another wave of great progress for Futariuums Gate!

    Nethuum finished coloring two brand-new backgrounds The Library and Safe-Hub both now fully implemented in the game. Along with that, new facial expressions were added to Briannas portrait to make her even more expressive in upcoming scenes.

    AB added all the new story content for the next update into the game, completing what will now serve as the games Introduction. Players will be able to either play through it or skip directly to the open gameplay experience via the Choose Your Experience screen. The new script adds around 5,000 words of written content.

    The Healing Statue, Eurydice, and Chest Rewards are now fully integrated into the new dungeon system meaning the core of the revamped dungeon loop is now complete, with only placeholders left to replace.

    AB also integrated the new Reputation System into the UI, added the Dungeon Summary feature, and implemented part of the new Choose Your Experience skip system to the games beginning.

    Our writer has completed the revised version of Belials introductory scene, further refining dialogue and pacing.

    Next, well be working on the new Recap Screen, polishing sections of the game according to the new gameplay loop, and continuing to plan more upcoming content.

    Hey everyone!

    This week brought a ton of visual and gameplay progress across several areas of Futariuums Gate.

    Nethuum kicked things off by completing the sketch and final lineart for the new backgroundThe Library, which will appear during Briannas introduction. The next step will be moving on to the coloring phase. He also finished the design for the new Events screen, a roguelike-inspired mechanic weve been planning for a while. This feature will add more unpredictability, strategy, and rewards to dungeon runs, making each playthrough feel unique and challenging.

    Nethuum also redesigned and completed the new Reputation Bar, which will appear next to Mayas energy bar. The updated design better represents the purpose of this stat while visually matching the recently reworked dungeon interface.

    In addition, he finished the Choose Your Experience screen, which lets players choose how they want to start their adventure: either by playing through the full intro and tutorial, following the story and learning the basics, or by skipping straight to free exploration, allowing access to dungeons, Sphere events, and side quests from the start. This is one of the most significant new features, giving players full control over how they experience the game.

    He also organized the portrait layers for Brianna, preparing them for the upcoming facial expression variants, which require a clear and well-structured setup for smooth implementation later. On top of that, Nethuum designed the summary icon for the Dungeon Selection screen, which helps players easily identify each room type and plan their path strategically.

    Meanwhile, AB implemented the Events screen into the new dungeon system, making it fully functional and compatible with the latest mechanics. She also added the first placeholder event to the system, which might be adjusted in the final version, and integrated Chimes shop into the new dungeon framework.

    Lastly, our writer has been reworking the early Belial scene, improving dialogue flow and pacing to make it more engaging and polished.

    To wrap up the week, Nethuum updated the art asset list for the upcoming v0.60 update, providing the team with a clearer roadmap to keep everything on schedule for release.

    Futariuums Gate Weekly Devlog #3

    This week was a big one for us a lot got done across different parts of the game! Nethuum started working on a brand-new background thatll act as a safe hub for Maya and her group. Its going to be an important spot in the story (no spoilers yet ). He went from planning to sketching really quickly, and the full line art is already done ready for coloring soon!

    AB put in some major work too, completely redoing both the dungeon selection and exploration screens. They now properly show Mayas HP, energy, money, and reputation. AB also finished linking the new dungeon system with the enemies, so everything works perfectly together now. The new dungeon selection screen is also done you can check it out in the image attached!

    Our writer made great progress as well after a quick sync with Nethuum to set priorities. She wrapped up Briannas entire introduction story, the Safe Hub scenes, and how the group gets there. That means the whole intro sequence before the world opens up is now complete! Players will be able to experience that linear introduction first or skip it and jump straight into free exploration. For those who prefer to skip it, were adding a short optional recap so you can still get the main story beats. The writer also finished that recap script, plus new prompt messages for the upcoming mechanics.

    Next, Nethuum will keep working on new mechanics, assets, and the remaining backgrounds possibly starting sketches for Briannas next scene depending on whats needed. AB will continue refining the dungeon system and integrating all events. Meanwhile, the writers started revisiting older scenes, especially from the early game, to polish and improve them.

    Hi everyone!

    This week has been full of progress on both the art and gameplay sides of Futariuums Gate.

    Briannas Portrait: Nethuum began coloring Briannas portrait. As shown in the last preview, the base colors are already in place, but the final shadows, highlights, and overall polishing are still being worked on.

    New UI Feature: Work also started on the design of the new Reputation Bar, a feature well explain in more detail soon.

    Dungeon System: AB continued implementing code for the new dungeon system. The next step is to link these mechanics with existing features in the game, which will form the foundation for future content.

    New Content & Mechanics: Weve been planning additional content and new mechanics that will appear in the upcoming update.

    Writing Progress: Nethuum discussed and gave guidance to our new backup writer on whats needed for Briannas introduction scene, as well as other necessary parts of the script.

    Finally, we shared a preview of Brianna this week, and next week well be posting the exclusive nude version for $20 Patrons.

    Futariuums Gate Weekly Devlog #1

    Hi everyone!

    After last weeks announcement, we jumped right into restructuring key parts of the game based on the long-term direction we want to follow. Our focus is to create a fun and refined gameplay loop that will carry the project all the way to completion.

    This week we continued refining and restructuring the new gameplay loop, but that didnt stop us from planning fresh content and starting brand-new art assets.

    Improved Gameplay Loop

    Weve now planned and defined the improved loop, which ties together the existing introduction, sphere scenes, main story continuation, side-quests, and dungeon battles into one seamless experience. AB has already started prototyping the new dungeon system in the game code, while Nethuum prepared a detailed asset list to ensure smooth implementation. This restructuring will give us the foundation to begin testing and confirm everything works perfectly before we add even more content.

    New Character

    While working on the gameplay design, Nethuum also dove into concept art for a brand-new character who will play a crucial role in the story and in Mayas group. This character is planned to be the last of the main protagonists needed to complete the core castaside from antagonists.

    Nethuum organized references and a mood board and, on the same day, made strong progress with body sketches, facial features, and clothing concepts. The body sketch is nearly finished, with just the outfit details left to refine.

    This character has been in the plans since Futariuums Gate was first conceived, and we cant wait to show her off. She will be revealed next weekstay tuned!

    And More Progress!

    On the design side, we finalized which new Lesser Demons will appear throughout the rest of the game, carefully balancing their classes with the ones already present. We also planned two new Major Demons, which will be key to the story and dungeon gameplay. Plus, were introducing a new elemental typeIcefor a future update.

    We also made solid progress on defining the full scope of the game, which, while not 100% finalized yet, will help us map out which content belongs in each upcoming update.

    Big Changes, Challenges and New Roadmap for Futariuums Gate

    Hey everyone, Nethuum here.

    Thanks for your support so far and for playing our game. We enjoyed crafting the latest game update, but we\'ve faced some major challenges that require adaptation to ensure the project continues. We appreciate if you could stick to us to know more about the changes-- I know, the following text is lengthy but I aim to be as open and honest as possible and didn\'t want to scrap any information that I think would be important for you to know. There\'s a TL;DR version below if you don\'t wanna everything, although I strongly recommend to!

    TL;DR (Short Version):

    • Our lead writer Tera left due to personal reasons, so we\'re shortening the story and dialoguenew backup writer on board, but change in story direction.

    What\'s the Current Situation?

    As development progressed, we hit some challenging realities: Our lead writer and co-founder Tera, had to leave the project due to personal reasons and no longer works with us. Tera\'s vision for the game was a key part, with a focus on an extensive and complex narrative. Without her, we have no choice other than adjust the project\'s direction to align with our current capabilities and skills. We\'re working with a new backup writerwho actually contributed to the update we released last week, including working on the entirety of Amanda\'s side-quest and the description of all the CGs so the game won\'t be without writing, but it won\'t have the same writing direction as before.

    On top of that, one of our main support platforms besides Steam has been hit by controversial changes regarding adult games, leaving our page essentially \"dead\" there until things get reversed. That means less financial support, feedback and visibility.

    From our experience, combined with these factors, we\'ve realized the game\'s scope became unrealistic for a two-person team. We had tons of plans and ideas, but I feel like it lacked a clear direction of the content we wanted to added until the full release. With Tera\'s departure and facing reality, we\'re shifting to a more realistic scope that lets us finish the game and avoid abandoning it, considering the scope is already ambitious.

    The current dungeon navigation system has limitations due to the Ren\'Py engine, eating up too much time from the team and preventing us from adding content to more important areas like new cards and scenes, also requiring some changes.

    Plus, the recent wave of censorship for adult games creates uncertainty and risk for an ambitious game like ours, especially since this is our main source of income. Finishing without major delays or issues is crucial for a small team like ours, now more than ever.

    With just two fixed full-time members leftme (Nethuum) and ABwe\'re dealing with reduced capacity, less financial support besides Steam, and a scope that\'s grown beyond what we can handle. That\'s why we\'re changing direction to play to our strengths, ensure the project survives, and we hope for your continued support.

    What Does This Change Going Forward?

    Straight to the point: What\'s already in the game won\'t be completely redone. Our original story vision was too ambitious and text-heavy, shaped in part by our former writer who\'s no longer on the team. Also, it really didn\'t feel like the visual novel elements and the card battle stuff went together very well. To ensure we can finish strong without delays, we\'re making a focused adjustmentthe story will be shorter with less dialogue overall. Everything else stays the same, including the deckbuilding roguelike combat, sphere scenes, side-quests, etc.

    The good news: We\'re pivoting to emphasize what makes the game shinethe deckbuilding roguelike dungeon loop and the sphere scenes! We\'ll prioritize a simpler, more realistic dungeon navigation system (inspired by Slay The Spire) that\'s rewarding and unpredictable, plus finishing sphere scenes and adding new side-quests.

    What really changes is we\'re dialing back the heavy focus on a complex, linear story with tons of dialogue and aiming for better balance: Short, rewarding card battles and dungeon runs with roguelike mechanics blended with sphere scenes and side-quests, with story bits sprinkled in post-run. The story will be shorter, unfolding gradually as you progress through battles and spheres.

    Oh, and new animations will roll out as the game\'s budget allows as well (they\'re quite expensive, especially now that we have one less platform to support us).

    Wrapping Up

    All these changes aren\'t set in stone and could evolve based on your feedback and the game\'s direction. Once we have a definitive roadmap and more details on what\'s coming next, we\'ll keep you posted in a future devlog.

    These shifts are crucial so AB and I can finish the game without getting overwhelmed by a scope beyond our means, or risking burnout or bigger budget issues if we stuck to the old path.

    Two worlds - Two fates! Experience the story of Cyrus, a man in a transitional point in his life, mired in past mistakes, fractured relationships and unresolved trauma. While attempting to restart his life in a new city with a new job, he is thrust into the fantasy world of Cadagan, tasked with taking down the evil insurgent king Monn Molian. But, due to a mishap in the spell bringing him to Cadagan, Cyrus is now tethered to both worlds, forcing him to alternate days between each and overcome his seemingly-insurmountable and conflicting priorities. Turbulent relationships from days gone by and past mistakes will resurface in Cyruss life, both in his world and in the fantasy realm, leaving him to deal with the consequences.

    Past Mistakes is a straight visual novel, both in the sense that the structure is very traditional to a normal visual novel, with many branching pathways and multiple endings, and in that the sexual content is mostly geared toward straight male-on-female scenes. By default the game is to be released on Steam as a streamlined version without its sexual content, alongside a free patch that unlocks said content.

    Howdy all, Futariuums Gate followers!

    Weve got a bite-sized update for you all as a stocking stuffer for the holiday season! Weve received a lot of feedback from the release of v0.40, and as we continue to work hard on the next content-rich update of Futariuums Gate, we wanted to show our gratitude with a handful of stuff for you to enjoy!

    Features Overview:
    - A brand-new, Christmas-themed outfit for Maya, which can be used in battle!
    - A new Boss Demon, called Blaze. Defeat her burning desire and check out her new scorching-hot sex scene!
    - Six new dungeons, with randomized layouts. Boss Demon Blaze can appear in these, as well as all the other Demons youve fought in the previous versions!
    - 2 new cards for you to use and one as an unplayable card belonging to the Boss Demon Blaze!
    - Chime now has banter and a functional store. Speak to Chime and see short conversations to get a little look into her personality and see what she has to negotiate!

    - Belial Nerf:
    - In her first battle on normal difficulty, Belial's HP has been reduced from 125 to 100.
    - In her second battle, her attack power has been lowered from 15 to 14, but only if the difficulty is not set to easy.
    - The battle now ends with a new transition and visual effect before going to the rewards screen.
    - Added missing stars to some of the cards.
    - Fixed card label from attack to skill for the Earthquake and Chaos Breaker cards.
    - Fixed keymaps for the dorms.
    - Updated the walkthrough (Utility Pack DLC).
    - Updated the Art Pack DLC.
    - Made several fixes throughout the game.

    Todays the day! The Early Access build for Futariuums Gate is officially out now on Steam, along with its additional content and add-on packs!

    Hoo, boy. This release is a big one. Weve painstakingly created and refined insane amounts of new content for you all to enjoy. For those who have seen our previous progress, this new release includes:

    • A brand-new card battle system, with deck building and exciting turn-based battles! 20 cards are included in this release, ranging wildly in power and effects!
    • Also completely new, dungeon exploration gameplay! Weve included three dungeons in this first release and we intend to add many more!
    • 2 new demons to fight in the dungeons, with their own new sex scenes and CGs!
    • New plot progression, including the introduction of 3 new characters that will become very important to the story from here on out!
    • New world events with additional spicy CGs!
    • A new side quest with, you guessed it, a juicy CG scene at the end!
    • And much more!

    And for anyone new to Futariuums Gate, youre in for a hell of an experience for our first release on Steam. Up to this point, weve managed to cram a whole bunch of content into the game up to this point, including:
