Four years of preparation and patron-supported development has led to The Builder finally being released! The two first seasons are out, Season 2 in early release, because I'm still working on Episode 10. I've also created a bundle, so you get a discount when you buy both episodes as one.

Improvements

Added story content

I will add more content to both seasons as we progress. The first will be an update to Episode 1 - see below. After that, I will focus on finishing Episode 10. This will be the Season 2 finale, and will offer six different possible paths through the dramatic events one single night.

Branching

To make game play more interesting, I have a number of story branches planned. The first wil kick in at the very beginning of the game, where you will get an option to say no to deliver the sample to the nurse. This will send you into a slightly different run towards the inevitable conclusion to the session at Fjord Energy offices.

Increased choice

I have received requests for even more skipping options of content that some people find niche kinks. Duly noted, and I will implement this progressively.

Achievements

Due to the Valve/Steam review process, I have a lot more Steam Achievements planned that are not yet implemented. I will release them with the other updates.

Transfer of stats

I'm currently looking into a simple way to transfer your stats from one season to the next. This way, your playing style will accumulate even more tweaks to the experience. This is slightly beyond my tech capacities, so I'll probably need some dev assistance on this.

Improved visuals

Some sections of both seasons have slight unsatisfactory visual solutions, and I have an ambition to improve these.

More lewd content

Once the story progresses past Episode 2, there's quite a few possibilities for lewd content that still can be explored. I'm also hoping to add more animations to the existing scenes, depending on my mastery of more advanced tools - and future development of AI assisted creation (that does not entail the AI doing what AI does: Making everything look AI). I want to keep this game human made all the way through.

The story continues

Season 3

Season 3 is scheduled for development starting Q3 2025 with the first release hoping to be early Q4. The episode will use a slightly different story mechanic because of the shift in motivation for the MC. This is still on the drawing board, so it's too early to say if my ideas can actually be made functional.

Seasons 4 - 6

With 30 episodes planned, The Builder will have a total of 6 seasons before the story line reaches its conclusion. The reception of The Builder on Steam, will of course influence the pace of releases in the future. Thank you for purchasing and following The Builder! Chris / Lewd Robotics

Release date confirmed

The March 3rd release is now confirmed. Both seasons will be available, Season 2 as an early access "season pass" style purchase where you get the last episode once it's finished as an update.

Steam Achievements

I have started the Steam Achievments for the release builds, but this system will be expanded as I add more content to both seasons.

Branching storylines

I am currently working on several branching options for Season 1. These will be added as soon as they're finished.

The petite 22 year old Lilo is one of the characters briefly introduced in Ep8. She's a handful (not unlike quite a few of the other ladies of the game), and will be more involved as we progress deeper into the plot line driving Season 2. Episode 9 will be one of the longer ones of this season, and I hope it will be of joy to you all. Please wishlist The Builder - Season 1 and The Builder - Season 2 here on Steam if you haven't done so already. This will help speed up the development of new episodes down the line by increasing the revenue stream of the game and thus buying me more time off from my other work. After the release of Ep9, I will have to focus on the upcoming Steam release. The ambition is to add Steam achievements to the code. That might increase the fun of playing it. Steam cloud save is another feature that might be looked into. The challenge with this, is that all through the development of a season, I add variables. This means that while the season is in beta/early release, old saves won't work. As some of you might have noticed, my background is in the arts and not in tech, so I'm doing my best by going through youtube videos and forum posts to understand the mechanics of game development on the AVN platform I'm using. Looks like our hero is having some up close and personal time with three of the ladies of The Builder. How did he get here? What will come out of this? Big changes are underway for our poor builder. Luckily, he is in for an impregnation run this episode (or several, actually). The render machine is running full time in order to crunch through the last scenes of Episode 9. I am currently in the middle of the big scene 9 out of 11 in total. In addition, I'm hoping to clean up some of the imagery earlier in the season for this release.
