A fast paced bullet hell where your ship doesn't shoot — you dash through enemies to destroy them.
The game has a variety of power-ups, enemy types, and bosses that create interesting and distinct challenges when surviving through waves. The minimalistic gameplay is easy to learn but hard to master.

Game Modes

  • Roguelike: Complete all levels, defeat enemies and *super bosses*, build your strategy by choosing and upgrading power ups. Your progress is reset on death, but your upgrades are kept.
  • Arcade Mode: Endless waves of enemies. Test your skills and see how far you can go.

Mechanics

  • Dash: Charge the dash and release to go forward and destroy enemies and bullets in the way. Hitting an enemy will extend your dash forward, get the right angle to destroy more enemies with a single dash.
  • Dash Canceling: You can cancel your dash midway to stop at a better position.
  • Power Ups: According to the game mode you selected it will be different how you select and upgrade power ups. Power ups have specific triggers, like number of kills or dash levels.

  • Dash Levels: Each level requires you to destroy an amount of enemies, starting with 2. If you do it, the dash level will increase and the amount of enemies to be destroyed too. Higher levels trigger stronger power ups.
  • Health Restoring: After getting hit you have a chance to restore your HP by completing the challenge. It can be something that will put you in more risk, so it your choice to do it.

Improvements and Fixes

\n\nLast month I took Super Dash to Jogatrio, an indie game event here in Brazil. There I saw around 100 players interacting with the game and got a lot of feedback and new ideas on how to make it better.\n\nAll changes in this version were made with their help so if you were there thank you for playing the game!\n\n

Tutorial

\n\n- The initial tutorial was restructured to be easier to understand. It has more text but the game only has that amount of text in this section.\n- You\'ll see a popup to play the Advanced Tutorial once, there you can learn more mechanics about the game and hopefully get to higher waves\n- Unecessary tutorial popups were removed to make the game more dynamic\n\n

Bosses

\n\n- The first 4 bosses were updated and rebalanced\n- The teleporter boss is less annoying now and has a bigger window before it teleports\n- The shooter boos has a different visual that shows where he\'ll shoot next and when he can receive damage\n\n

Controllers

\n\n- The aiming is different with a controller now, it doesn\'t flick to the opposite direction if you stop aiming before a dash\n- You can adjust sensibility in the settings\n- The default \"stop dash\" button is now the right shoulder (R1, RB)\n\n

Others

\n\n- when you revive enemies around you get destroyed\n- the shield is easier to see now and stays for more time before breaking\n- complicated power ups don\'t appear in initial waves\n- the UI for some health challenges is better now and you can see how much time its left\n- fixing some typos\n

Phelippe just made some new sfx for the game that make it juicierrr, they're for bosses and gameplay in general:

- sonar sound for the last enemy destroyed in every wave
- shield boss laser
- and a lot of new sfxs for the last super boss


Also fixing a bug that would remove infinite lives in Zen Mode, thanks Aergis for reporting that.

New Features/Improvements:

  • Super Dash now has support for a variety of controllers, not just the DualSense.
  • You can now see your current power-ups when selecting a new one.
  • Fixed some PT-BR localization issues.
  • Added new popups explaining yellow shield enemies and red projectiles.

Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed an error when selecting the Wormhole (Level 2). (Thanks, Fausto!)
  • Fixed an issue in Arcade/Zen mode where the game would get stuck. (Thanks, Rubens!)
  • Fixed menu slide animations getting stuck when alt-tabbing. (Thanks, Biel and friends!)

Added a new game mode, "Zen Mode", that has infinite lives and its more chill with fewer enemies on screen. It doesn't store the highscore as the Arcade Mode but still is a good way to enjoy the diversity of power ups and enemies as well as practive for the other modes.

Also fixing a bug that wasn't unlocking achievements on Steam. Achievements unlocked in the meantime will be activated all at once when the game loads again.
