Version 1.2: The "Quality of life" update!

This update (by far the biggest so far) for Dagdrm contains 200+ quality of life improvements, some big, some small! The biggest news is probably a Linux build, but there are new animations, a new hint book, new menus and 75+ changed dialogue options for making the game more intuitive. I also made a new (and improved) walkthrough for the game which is available in the forums . Read below for a complete list of fixes and improvements.

  • Added missing highlights on mouse over some hotspots
  • Set visible audio hints ON as default
  • Improved 10+ speaker hints to make them less obtuse
  • Complete redesign of pause, controls and options menus

  • Moved Tarot deck to pause menu for simplification
  • Interface adjustments (primarily for Steam Deck)
  • Fixed bug causing player to some times walk out of playable area on load
Act 1:
  • Added visual improvements to The Moon Flower Pot on The Roof Terrace, for clarification
  • Clarified directions to The Travel Agent on new game
  • Replaced arbirtrary quick travel to some locations with new quick travel map inventory item
  • Added visual improvements to zone selector in The Common Area, for clarification

  • The Robot Librarian now gives you clearer hints regarding The Third Book Slip
  • Clarified the breakdown of The Ticket Machine further
  • Replaced 75+ dialogue options on NPCs with clearer hints for progress

Act 2:
  • Clarified "The Bird Puzzle" with some visual improvements to The Zoologists Tower
  • Rare camera bug fixed in The Plaza
  • Added visual improvements to The Travel Guide instructions for making broth (salted water)
  • Quick fix for weird bug some times causing a black screen (but still interactability) on The Lake location
Act 3:
  • Simplified puzzles on floor V of The Trial Foors
  • Fixed superficial loading bugs when backtracking on a specific floor of The Trial Floors

Release date the 19th of May + five days left of beta testing!

An official release date for Dagdrm is finally ready: If everything goes as planned the game will be released the 19th of May 2023 on Steam! Improvements at this points are mostly fixing bugs, implementing the soudntrack and correcting some bad filters (color grading). In other news: Over 100 testers has gotten their access to the beta version of the game, but I still need more feedback! If you have played it, but haven't submitted any feedback yet you can do it here.

Beta testing now open!

Dagdrm, a new point-and-click adventure, coming later this year, is now ready for beta testing. The game is in a decent state, but with some key elements missing:

  • Soundtrack (some sketches are in, but nothing final)
  • Color grading (some coloring, especially in night scenes, is temporary)
  • The ending is lacking in audio effects
  • Credit scene (missing)
  • Norwegian translation missing (bokml and nynorsk)
Other than that, it is close! If you want to help out (and get credit in the credit scene), I would be really grateful! Ask for permission to join the beta, and you will get it. Here is the feedback survey (Google Forms) Happy playing!

  • Dagdrøm is a challenging old school adventure game, inspired by classics like Monkey Island, Broken Sword and Machinarium, but with some new twists and turns. Fear not: The game comes with a simple in-game hint system and a visual walkthrough guide. It is available for Windows PC, Mac and Linux.



    The sun rises. The good people of this zone wake up from their slumber only to find that the city reserves of The Dream Tea, a favoured refreshment in these parts, has run empty. Its main ingredient? The Dream Juice, a mystical black extract, somehow connected to that tower on the horizon…



    Travel across desert dunes towards The Great Tower to find questions, answers and most importantly: something to drink. Survive mysterious separatists, face The Stone Golem and cook a wide selection of broth based soups… That is: If you can get a ticket on a train in the first place.
