You're a dad is a text adventure about becoming a father. Get up, take care of your child, buy groceries, prepare dinner. Do nothing else. Repeat every day, because...
... You're a dad!

This is your child. It is your job to make sure he thrives, or at least makes it through the day. You can go skating, imaginary monster hunting, or just sleep the day away. I mean, the game reacts to your actions, so it really is possible. But should you?
(No, you shouldn't. Make good choices, okay?)
Navigate through all the endings!

Your family is coming for dinner. So not only do you have to be a dad - you also need to make food. You can make food. It's not that hard. Don't get lost in day dreams, going camping or starting a cat café. If your child starts reading philosophy, nip that in the bud before they get a PHD.
(Just be a responsible adult, please?)
Explore a really small world!

You can stay in your apartment. But if you need to make dinner, you might want to go to the store. In fact you should do that, buy groceries and make dinner. Don't get sidetracked. Everything is fine. I trust you.

Phew! Just phew!
Just in time for the Steam Next Fest, we\'re happy to announce that this little text adventure - You\'re a dad - has a new and improved demo out and about! I mean, you can play it! Yay!
But what is this game, even?
It all started when...
... I, Linus, became a dad. Weird times. Lots of things to learn. Sleep deprivation is a thing. Who knew?
I wanted to capture some of the small and big moments. I wanted people to see what I saw, and feel what I felt. The pride, the smiles, the hardships. But I didn\'t know how, until a few years later.
I started tinkering with game making, and decided to make a text adventure for my friends and family. They liked it. They even laughed while playing!
So I shared it on itch and here on Steam. And I got feedback! People liked it again, and even made a YouTube video or two about it! I felt like my little text adventure, initially just made for my closest, deserved a bit more attention.
That\'s when Liberty Jensen, the talented artist providing all of the art, jumped aboard. Her playful style has brought so much character to the project. We really hope you\'ll enjoy the demo we\'ve got for you.
This game is for you if...
... you like to read. It\'s a text adventure / visual novel, after all. If you expect a Call of Duty... I mean, you probably wouldn\'t look at a game called You\'re a dad, but you know what I mean.
[/*]... you like non-linear adventures. In this game you\'re free to roam a small world and find all that it provides.
[/*]... you like playful humour mixed with serious undertones. You get to experience the sleep deprived dad state of mind while navigating a strained relationship. It\'s not easy having a child.
[/*]... you\'re into collecting endings and other things. The story of the game is told by replaying the same day, doing different things each time. The demo has 15 endings, and the full version contains 30+.
