IDUN hits Build 100 with a massive update! A new cinematic wraps up the story, and Ro-Ro joins as a deployable hero after finishing the campaign. Extreme Difficulty & Epic Raids unlocks for those who seek the ultimate challenge. Rock Piercer is now a fully implemented hero! The game is now fully localized in Russian and Korean, big thanks to everyone who helped out! We are currently participating in the Steam Spring Sale, with the game available at a 15% discount. Patch Notes: Build 0.99 "Mines & Modifiers"

This update adds a Modifier Bar, letting you inspect active mission and run modifiers mid-game. The Liquid Geyser mission modifier provides a steady blue liquid flow, perfect for powering printers and pumps. Meteor Rain and Lightning Storm mission modifiers can now be removed as rewards in Orbs. Proximity mines now deploy with a cooler effect. Additional improvements include restock buttons in the Loadout Screen and a truck load of other fixes.

Added:

Patch Notes: Build 0.98 "Meteor Mayhem"

As always, these changes are based on your feedback, so keep it coming! The Sky Gun is now locked for a shorter time, as the Deep Dive mission where it gets repaired has been moved earlier, also making it clearer that it is broken and how to fix it. This update also introduces the Meteor Rain mission modifier, bringing fiery destruction from the sky. Plus, mission modifiers can now appear during loop events. You can now filter unachieved achievements for easier tracking, and UI improvements make tooltips, scrolling, and raid loadouts clearer. Lastly, Mech controls have been improved for greater flexibility.

Added:


  • Meteor Rain mission modifier: Meteors will rain down, scorching and smashing everything they hit.
  • Mission modifiers are now added during loop events.
  • Unachieved achievements can now be filtered in the in-game Achievements viewer.

Balance:


  • Pump liquid pumping radius upgrade levels increased from 4 6.
  • Deep Dive is easier on Easy and Medium.
  • Minimum time between lightning strikes increased from 0.4 0.8.
  • Lavalisk Hard Kill achievement requirement reduced from 50k 10k.
  • Lavalisk Very Hard Kill achievement requirement reduced from 500k 50k.
  • No Move mission modifier can no longer be active at the same time as Lightning Storm (or Meteor Rain).

  • It is now clearer why an item is locked. Especially when the Sky Gun is broken.
  • A moderate number of dialogue lines have been polished or updated.
  • Anchor scrolling is now prettier.
  • Sky Gun is now broken for a shorter time, as the mission Deep Dive is moved earlier. (Switched place with Crystal Canyon)
  • Completed Raids now display how much time remains until they are available again.
  • Raid loadout visuals are now larger and easier to read when picking a new reward.
  • Mission tooltips now display a colored challenge level to indicate difficulty (based on previous played missions).
  • Mech no longer moves when dragging tools.
  • Mech can now be moved with Camera Drag Input (Default: Middle Mouse Button). It will behave accordingly when using Anchor Scrolling.
  • Profile names are now checked even more strictly for OS safety.

Fixes:


  • Rayn Stealth material is now prettier and works correctly with selection.
  • Stacks in the Loadout Screen now display correctly when the last equipped one is already in use after a new one is built.
  • Dialogues Quips (not story lines) will be cut out less due to speed up.

Patch Notes: Build 0.97 "Hard Weight"

Last patch had some stability issues, I'm so sorry about that. Hopefully this patch will be more stable. Remember to enable "Send Analytics Data" if you want to help out, that way I will get the crash logs. I was actually working on endgame balancing before knowing about the crashes, so this patch also includes a lot of end game balancing. The current loop count is now displayed. A loop happens when playing a mission for a long time, and when it happens, the missions gets a lot harder.

Added:


  • Current Loop is now displayed with a big popup when it happens and a small number in the lower left corner.

Balance:


  • Pump's "Air Pumping" efficiency reduced by 50%.
  • Hulk weight increased from 3 6.
  • Icebiter weight increased from 6 16.
  • Boomer weight increased from 4 10.
  • Beetle weight increased from 7 25.
  • Sniper Turret's projectile push force increased from 80 130.
  • New challenge curve for Hard Difficulty: Slightly easier at the beginning, 50% harder around mission #1000.
  • Missions are guaranteed to have a mission modifier per 150 challenge levels.
  • Loop Event now has a stronger impact.

Change:


  • Enemies will push and block each other less. Pushing is based on weight.
  • Printed Soldiers expire after 2 minutes.

Fixes:


  • Sniper and Ray Turrets will shoot fewer friendly soldiers.
  • Fixed the issue where languages might not be applied correctly at startup when using a different language than the systems default.
  • Saving functions are now wrapped in safety nets.
  • Unity upgraded from 2022.3.55f1 2022.3.58f1

Patch Notes: Build 0.96 "Selection Outline"

This update brings a new and improved selection, making it easier to see whats selected. 32 new tips have been added to the loading screen, please let me know if you have more suggestions for tips! Room items now display current/max counts to communicate that there is a limit per type and when it has been reached.

Added:


  • New Selection Outline. A fresh cool outline highlight replaces the old boring selection ring.
  • Room Tooltips now show current and max count.
  • 32 Loading Screen Tips to help you play smarter and find out about hidden features. Like:
    • Tip: Cold enemies are slower but tougher.
    • Tip: Raids stay active until completed or abandoned.
    • Tip: Hold SHIFT in "No Move" missions to skip confirmation.
    • Tip: Lightning Storms avoid hitting mission-critical buildings.

Balance:


  • Room rewards are now more spread out on the planet.
  • Shotgun Range reduced from 12.5 10 (Max: 20 16).
  • Soldier Printer's "Air Printing" Upgrade actually slows down production with 50%.
  • Minigun Default Rotation Rate (Aim Speed) increase from 250 500.
  • Minigun Default Range Reduced from 15 12 (Max: 21).

Changes:


  • Minigun Rotation Rate (Aim Speed) upgrade is replaced with a Range upgrade. (Upgrade level is moved over)
  • Refinery Missions now ask for confirmation before leaving when clicking "Complete".
  • Disabled Buildings can no longer be selected.
  • Drop Pod & SkyGun now have better audio cues when ready.
  • Adding and removing patrol points now have better audio.
  • Printed Soldier Death effect is now prettier.
  • "Protect Deep Drill" Objective is removed once completed.
  • Raid Names now include difficulty levels.
  • Falcon Space Upgrades in the loadout screen are hidden once maxed out.

Fixes:


  • Tons of Dialogue spelling mistakes fixed! Huge thanks to Paul Z. for the help!
  • Elite Drop Pods are now less frame-rate dependent and should always spawn the correct amount.
  • The "Complete Mission" button on Refinery Missions only appears when the mission is actually completed.

Patch Notes: Build 0.95 "Achievements Tracker"

This update brings an in-game Achievement Tracker, so you can keep track of those that are not on Steam and it will help finding out why certain Steam achievements aren't triggering for some players. The two late game missions, Gulch and Spiral, are now Refinery missions with new random challenges every time they are started. Long range heroes and turrets are now really good at hitting fast moving distant targets.

Added:


  • In-Game Achievement Tracker. See all achievements and their progress, including those not on Steam (Steam has a 100-achievement limit for smaller games).
  • The missions Gulch & Spiral's challenges are randomized each time they load.

Balance:


  • Rayns Special now has the same range as his base weapon (significantly increased).
  • Bride starts using her electric ability from further away.
  • Circle Selection (Neoteric) hold delay reduced from 0.4s 0.3s.
  • Gulch's challenge increased from 50 100.
  • Spiral's challenge increased from 35 90.

Changes:


  • Sniper & Ray Turrets now switch targets less often.
  • Holding the Selection Modifier key (Default: SHIFT) now skips confirmation in "No Move" missions.
  • Room Tooltip now includes "Click and Hold to drag Rooms."
  • Howitzer, Rocket Artillery, Sniper & Ray Turrets got even smarter targeting.
  • Gulch & Spiral are now Refinery missions.
  • Temperature is now taken into account when calculating projectiles interception point.
  • Heroes and Turrets have better targeting at long range against fast enemies.
  • Minefield Reinforcement Modifier now applies to Elite Drop Pods.
  • The "Push" mission's Monster Base is now much harder to kill without the Nuke.
  • Resource Bar stays active while trading.
  • Hovering over the sides of the Resource Bar displays all planet resources.

Fixes:


  • Carbon Steel Rewards now display correctly (previously, Nano Alloy was sometimes shown instead).
  • Rayns Range is now displayed correctly.
  • Loop Event Enemies now appear properly after the 10th loop.
  • The Bomber in the "Frostburn" mission no longer flies away at the start if you restart after it has flown off.
  • Mech no longer spins randomly when out of targets.
  • Mech will be pushed out of any collider, preventing it from getting stuck.

Patch Notes: Build 0.94 "Resource Tracker"

Last patch shipped with a bug related to Steam Overlay, so I needed a fix out ASAP. But I took this opportunity to get in some other requested quick fixes in and the resource tracker I have been working on.

Added:


  • Resources are now shown on the map when hovering over the resource bar, and rooms appear when hovering over the station button, making it easier to find what you need.

Balance:


  • Drop Pod impact liquid removal strength reduced from 10 2.
  • Mech Health Upgrade cost increased from 75 150.
  • Ray Turret fire rate increased from 0.5 0.75.

Changes:


  • Preferred difficulty is now set to Easy by default.
  • Improved the Turret Targe Prioritization. Added some gifs to show what is happening under the hood. The green line is the decided target. Blue is what the old system would have found. Red is blocked. Yellow is the search position and the cyan is the enemy that the position found. Hope you like this even though it is a bit nerdy. : )
    • Tank Main Gun, Cannon, Shotgun & Flamer Turrets now also compares dot products (angle difference) when finding a target.
    • Sniper & Ray Turrets are looking in many directions trying to find the enemy with the highest health.
    • Howitzers and Rocket Artillery looks for shortest distance from each search point.
    • Miniguns and the rest just targets the closest enemy.

Fixes:


  • Trader Resource Tracker now updates correctly after transactions.
  • Planet View music will no longer stop playing unexpectedly.
  • Blade Turret unlock path now correctly updates when unlocking Walls or Flamer Turrets.
  • Hardware cursor will not be crazy big on some Linux machines.
  • Worms and Deposits will no longer try to block pathing, it caused units already inside the area to stop moving.

Know Issues:


  • SHIFT Selection is stuck after closing Steam Overlay using the close button. I can't for the life of me fix this. So the official solution until Steam or Unity changes their API is to just press SHIFT again when back in the game.

Patch Notes: Build 0.93 "Smarter Turrets"

Turrets just got a bit smarter. They now prioritize targets more effectively. Dragged out missions just got more intense as loop events have been refactored. Each loop adds new and more enemies. Bans now apply across all item tiers. Oh, and no more friendly fire from turrets (probably).

Added:


  • Cursor Size Adjustment: Change your cursor size in settings. Any value above 1 switches to a software cursor.
  • Turret Target Prioritization:
    • Sniper & Ray Turrets focus on high-health enemies in front of them first, but also the other sides.
    • Tank Main Gun, Cannon, Shotgun & Flamer Turrets prefer targets directly ahead.
    • Rocket Artillery & Howitzers now prioritize enemies in their current direction.
    • All other turrets still target the closest enemy.

Balance:


  • Growth Nodes now evolve twice as fast.
  • Proximity Mines lifespan reduced from 60 50 (Max 150 110)
  • Flamer Turret Spread increased from 0.1 0.15 and range to from 4.5 6.
  • Pulse Spawn mission modifier is now less extreme.
  • Epli Reward for killing Ball and Jumper Turrets reduced from 50 35.
  • Epli Reward for killing Growth Nodes increase 0 10.
  • Epli Reward for killing Worms increase 0 60.
  • Epli Reward for killing Monster Spawners increase 0 40.

Changes:


  • Item bans now apply to all tiers, not just the current one.
  • Red Dawn terrain can now appear in standard missions.
  • Loop event now triggers earlier. A loop event happens after playing a mission for a long time. Spawn rate is increased and new enemies are added.
  • Research Tree tooltips now display more information about items.

Fixes:


  • Raid Rewards will no longer move around when completing a raid mission.
  • Turrets will no longer target and fire at newly spawned friendlies.
  • Bride will no longer spawn Growth after shes dead.
  • Raid reward Walls are no longer doubled.
  • Zoner Run Reward now gives Zoners even when depleted.
  • Blade Healing now actually works if rewarded during a Raid.
  • Trader item tooltips now update correctly after a transaction.
  • Sky Gun cooldown upgrade now updates correctly between levels.
  • Elite Drop Pod and other tools with charges now deploy correctly even if used right as they recharge.
  • Orbs and other event spawns are less likely to appear inside colliders.
  • Refinery Missions now function properly when replayed.
  • Refinery Missions now spawns time triggered challenges correctly. They repeat every 15 min.
  • Mech, Refinery, and Excavator upgrades are now properly displayed in the Factory screen.
  • Stopped offering heroes mid drop as run rewards.
  • Rapidly pressing deploy will always spawn the correct amount of deployables.
This builds contains some of the hardest bugs I have ever squished, some took days to fix. Lets hope I didn't create too many new ones. : )

Patch Notes: Build 0.92 "Chain Lightning"

This update brings some serious voltage: Brides got a flashy new attack, achievements are now actually achievable, and Ive zapped a ton of bugs. Every tweak, buff, and bug zap in this update comes straight from your feedback.

Added:


  • Bride now has a powerful new electric attack.
  • Zoner Run Modifier now adds 8 Zoners when low on them in Zone missions.

Balance:


  • Max Elite Drop Pods reduced from 35 25.
  • Gatling Cannon Modifier chance increased from 15 + (Cannons 5) 15 + (Cannons 6).
  • Several achievements adjusted to be more reasonable:
  • Complete 1000 missions 500 missions.
  • Kill 100 Acid Bois 50.
  • Kill 120,000 Lavalisk 50,000.
  • Kill 1,200,000 Lavalisk 500,000 (non-Steam achievement).
  • Use Proximity Mines 5,000 times 500.
  • Use Proximity Mines 500 times 200 (non-Steam achievement).
  • Zoner area increased from 2 4.
  • Tunnel opening size reduced from 12 10.
  • Bride is now more of a glass cannon. A really hard to kill glass cannon.

Changes:


  • Added a warning ring for Refinery Rock emergence.
  • Adjusted mech shells and link ejections to a better position.
  • Improved tooltips for Mech Range and Damage Run Modifiers.

Fixes:


  • Left-clicking a selected unit in Traditional selection mode now deselects it.
  • Mech will continue firing even if guns are in a blocked area.
  • Flamer Turret Damage Upgrade Level 10 is now distinct from Level 9.
  • Crystal Canyon now displays correct objectives.
  • Tree Eater no longer damages critical buildings when stepping on them accidentally.
  • Space Station key input camera scrolling no longer gets disabled after room deconstruction.
  • Deployable Items tooltip now updates after upgrading.
  • Acid Boi no longer spawns with a list of nonsense objectives.
  • Fixed a rare selection bug when dragging objectives.
  • PS5 and Xbox Series X controllers are now more likely to be detected.
  • Mission Loadout should is less likely to stop responding during a missions (restart the game fixes it otherwise).
  • Fixed several achievement triggers:
    • Excavator Less than 2min / Less than 1min.

Patch Notes: Build 0.91 "Re-Rolls & Bans"

This is the biggest patch yet post launch. Reward Re-rolls and Bans gives you more control over the random loot, Ive balanced rewards again, focused on making it more rewarding to play on easy (you guys who play on hard don't need any help : ). The trader screen has a slick new update showing how long time is left on a deal, And everyone's beloved mission modifier lightning strikes now gives you a chance to move your turrets away before striking. Plus, a ton of fixes and adjustments to smooth out your experience. Keep sharing your thoughts, it really helps shape the game!

Added:


  • Reward Re-roll: Refresh your options 3 times per mission.
  • Reward Ban: Permanently remove up to 3 unwanted rewards for the rest of the mission.
  • Pre-Lightning Strike warning effect for better preparation.

Balance:


  • Increased rewards for easy random missions by 25%.
  • "The Mighty Fall" now rewards 100 Carbon Steel.
  • "Changing Gear" now rewards 100 Fuel.
  • "Crater"'s Carbon Steel easy reward increased from 50 100.
  • "Wake-Up Call" now rewards 100 Turkey Jerky.
  • Ray Turret health increased from 2000 3000.
  • Excavator health increased from 10,000 12,000 (Max upgraded: 25,000 30,000).

  • The Count Upgrade now applies to items at the start of Raids.

This patch is packed with updates, especially for those of you who love tanks and achievements! Theres also a bunch of balancing tweaks and fixes for issues youve pointed out. Balance:


  • Nuke On Wheels: Trigger distance increased (8 8.5).
  • Spear Spitters move closer to their target before stopping (400 300).
  • Mech Mission Meteor collection increased from 10 12.
  • Refinery Missions map min size increased from 60 -> 80 and max size from 120->130.
  • Tank Health increased from 9000 12000 (max upgraded 22500 30000).
  • Tank Main turret rotation speed doubled (15 30).

Changes:


  • Progressive Achievements are now using Steam Stats.
  • Achievement Completion is now pushed to Steam on quit.
  • Improved some VO during the Station and Loadout tutorials.

Patch Notes: Build 0.89 "Slow-motion"

Hey everyone! This patch brings you a screen resolution dropdown and the slow-motion toggle can now be bound to a key. Ive also made tweaks to mission sizes and drill placement to reduce the chance of a "bad map". Most of these fixes came straight from your feedback, so thank you for letting me know what needs improving! If youve more ideas or spot anything else that needs fixing, dont hesitate to let me know. Before we go to the patch notes I would like to share this small gif of how you can move, cancel and stow rooms in the Space Station. It is not fully tutorialized yet so some might have missed it.

Added:


  • Screen Resolution dropdown in Settings.
  • Slow Motion (Reduced Game Speed) toggle can now be bound to a key in Settings.

Balance:


  • Deep Drill and Refinery now spawn at least 20 meters from the edge (previously 10).
  • Minimum mission size increased from 60 to 70.

Changes:


  • Research Tree layout is now better and straighter.
  • Holding Shift in Traditional control scheme always triggers box selection (=no accidental dragging).

Fixes:


  • Research Node and Upgrade Tooltips now update immediately after being researched.
  • Raid rewards no longer persist incorrectly after leaving a raid.
  • The "Send Analytics Data" toggle now correctly displays its state ( default off).
  • Blade Turret, Deep Drill & Wall health upgrades now properly increase durability.
  • Bomber Cooldown upgrades actually reduce the cooldown as intended.
  • Soldier Air printing now uses the correct base value.
  • Droppable items can't be lost by dropping them too quickly on invalid locations.
  • Mech Collectibles are harder to push by hero destination targets or dragged buildings.

Just a heads up. Walls can't be built in the current version. I will fix it tomorrow.

Launching a game is a dream come true, and while some reviews have been harsh, I'm taking every comment to heart to make this game even better. This patch, "Pink Dawn," is a testament to that. Balance:


  • General Missions: Rewards increased by 33%.
  • Short Raid: Rewards increased by 20% (this also benefits longer raids if the short raid isn't already completed).
  • Walls: Starting count increased to 3 (from 1).
  • Ice Biters: Health reduced from 1150 to 1000.
  • Mission Underground: Slightly easier to complete.

Changes:


  • Analytics data collection is now off by default.
  • Time between dormant spawn wave warnings increased from 30 to 40 seconds.
  • Updated Raid information screenshots.
  • Fewer things are randomly locked in harder missions.
  • Mech Proximity Mine damage on step is no longer exponential.
  • Added animations to the Wake-up Call Landship.

IDUN - New Circle Select / Multi Drag

What


Circle Select allows you to quickly and efficiently select multiple turrets with a simple click-and-drag motion. This makes moving a lot of stuff way easier.

How

  • Wait: Keep still until the circle select becomes active
  • Resize: Move away to create a circular selection area.
  • Release: Finalize your selection by releasing.
  • Drag: Click and drag one of the selected and watch the magic happen! [/olist]

    Why


    Its been requested more than once, to be able to move many things at the same time. Imagine you want to fall back to defend the Deep Drill or cover another flank, But, it is not as easy as it sounds to implement a system to move several buildings at the same time. What happens if there is no valid position, or when finding a new valid position another building also wants to move there? I also have the design goal for the game to be playable with just one mouse button, to maintain accessibility. The solution was easy for me, I just made John do it! It was not easy for John though. : ) Big shout out to John who did the majority of the work!

    As a side note, I showed IDUN at Nordic Game here in Sweden. It was great fun as always to lure people in that normally don't play RTS games, and see them killing their way to a close success in the end. Lots of high fives. : )
