Dear Players,
We are very happy to announce that The Raintime 1.0 is out on Steam!
Getting the game ready was quite a grind, and we are tired at the moment. However, we are glad that we made our Spring 2020 deadline. (Albeit barely.) We hope you enjoy The Raintime. Please continue providing us with feedback and user experiences.
Best regards,

Dear players,
Currently, The Raintime has been in early access for about seven months. During this time, we have been working incessantly towards the full release of the game, which is rapidly nearing finalization. At the moment we have a virtually complete game, and we have moved to playtesting and bugfixing. With this said, we can confidently announce that we're on course to release the full version of The Raintime early June 2020. We will communicate an exact release date somewhere in the coming weeks.
Having The Raintime in early access was a great way for us to gather early user feedback. From the different player comments, reviews, and youtube videos that you have posted, we have gathered the most broadly shared points of feedback and criticism, and applied them in game development. Salient edits in the final version of the game include:
Improved resolution for graphics.
Increased interactivity.
Changes in the storyline and dialogue.
Improved user interface.
We are very excited to bring you this news, please stay posted!

At first glance, William is a lazy college student. He spends his days sleeping in, skipping lectures, drinking with his friends and gathering up courage to talk to Jasmine, who's on the theater committee. But over the last few weeks, a mysterious restlessness has come over him. He's distanced himself from his friends, spends his time alone in his room and harbors thoughts that cannot bear the light of day . . .
Slowly, William is coming to the realization that the world he lives in is no more than an illusion. The city, the university, the artificial island upon which he lives, they're unnatural abominations against humanity, that need to be undone in order for history to take its due course.
Delve into William's mind as his last links to reality slowly unravel.
About
The Raintime is a freeware visual novel about the psyche of the undeveloped mind. In September 2019, we released a short story version of the game in early access mode. The full game is online from June 2020.
