Hello, travelers!

Purrgonia has changed for the better! It took us some time and lots of testing, but we are here!

First and foremost, we do recommend going to options in the main menu and resetting your save. Nothing should break with the update but you will get a smoother experience.

Important Additions/Changes:

Combat

• Animations now match the weapons better and long combo chains are possible. You might need to upgrade your stamina to see them all!

• Combat is much faster and, thus, hopefully more engaging. Damage and speed are better balanced now.

• There are skills that can help in combat. However, you need to figure out how to get them activated! There is even a skill that lets you catch up to the foes running away!

• More effects and sounds to make combat pleasing.

• Enemies can no longer run away from your playable area.

• Enemies now drop things when they die! No longer they are a menace for no reason!

• Different behaviours for enemies. Enemy type and location difficulty will now affect everything starting from them noticing you to how they decide to fight you. No more being chased around the map forever!

• Now you have 9 lives for the duration of the game. You lose a life every time you come back to the village after defeat instead of using a revival stone. I guess it's time to stock up on those, huh? Additional ending included!

• HP bars added! Enjoy seeing the life of your enemies slowly fade away...

• More enemy types and bosses! Bandits, ghosts, monsters...

World

• Even more locations and lore have been added. We are really proud of some of them, so hopefully you will like them too!

• Secret mechanics have been added to spice up the gameplay in different locations. Everything you do affects you in some way. We left a few hints on how the mechanics work in the lore.

• Level boundaries are adjusted so that you do not miss out on any loot.

Quests/Endings

• There is a new building in the village! You can enter it and enjoy a few quests the characters will give you.

• Added rescuable characters. Rescue them and complete their quests. You will not regret it.

• Quests will now bring additional two endings to the game that will tie together with the other village endings.

• Endings are much more than just a text now! Your village can even get destroyed completely!

• Final boss included!

• Game endings are much more clear now. You will actually get the credits scene this time. You can still play afterward or use New Game Plus.

• Choices and phrasing is a little more sensible in regards to endings. At least we think so.

Village

• Village now has a resource mini-game. There are several types of resources: food, wood, metal, gold, and documents. You can find them in the chests or acquire them via other means (no spoilers!)

• Resources will affect how happy and healthy your village is. Perhaps, your villagers will reward you for being successful?

• It should be easy to avoid but try not to starve your citizens. Additional ending included! But you don't want it, do ya?

• Each building has a mini-game associated with it! Get rewards and have fun! Sounds like a good deal, eh?

• Your village will now get attacked! Your actions will strongly affect how often and how strongly you the enemies will march on you. Fight alongside your villagers to protect Purrgonia!

Other

• New achievements due to new content! Can you get them all?

• Exploration camera is now shifted to allow better view. Zoom in and zoom out support added.

• New Game Plus! Got an ending you don't want? Want to try doing something different? Worry not! New Game Plus is available pretty early in the game and you have a choice for what you want to reset!

• Many other fixes and small additions! Honestly, we can't remember them all!

Roadmap

We are not planning any big additions or changes so far. However, we aim to support the game and fix any bugs you may find. Report them in the discussions, please, it will help out a lot!

If we do get hit with a big wave of new players...maybe we'll add some stuff in. We left a few developer notes in our files for some potential ideas. As for now, we hope to put in more time and effort into new projects.

Important! We are considering changing the game price after the Summer Sale 2025 ends. Since the game is in a much better state now, we think the new price of $5 will reflect our project better. You can still buy it at the old price with the discount for the duration of the Summer Sale, so don't miss out!

This game has been sort of an experiment for us and we want to see how to make/sell games on Steam in the future. We got plenty of ideas and we'd love for you to stay with us for this journey!
