Enhanced - Negative resist math reverted (No combat differences). - Third Lamb hp and defense readjusted, partial revert. - Some more adjustments to miscellaneous enemy defenses. - Player now starts with fatigue when on the Ship, capping stamina to original 80. - Roll stamina costs and Wrapped ring reverted to same as Classic. - Flask of Fire now has a minimum healing of 50% max hp. - Cleansing cloth now correctly gives 1 per turn in. - Dagger second light attack reduced from 1.4 multiplier to 1.2. - Weapon buff consumables reduced from 50% to 35% bonus damage. - Lesser weapon buffs reduced from 30% to 22.5% (60% to 45%). - Greater weapon buff reduced from 50% to 30% (100% to 60%). - Pistol, Crossbow, and Whipsword damages increased. - Various slow hitter adjustments. - Early game str/dex split weapons readjusted to balance against new split calculations. - Readjusted heal values of Mend, Spirited Mend, and Rejuvenate.
Another update has arrived! Patch 10 (v1.0.1.0) includes many bug fixes and code cleanups. It also is the release of a new game mode: Enhanced Combat. The patch notes are a bit long for this one and are linked at the bottom. Notable Changes:
- Players can now quit to desktop.
- Logos are now skippable.
- Hide helmet option added.
- Classic Mode: All existing characters are Classic and you can choose your mode on character creation.
- Enhanced Mode added. It has some mechanics and numbers changes to give an alternative balance and feel to the game.
- Coop players in Enhanced mode now receive their own sanctuary items, if the main player is at an owned sanctuary.
- Weapons with split stat scalings have reduced stat softcaps in Enhanced mode.
A quick follow-up for the Linux version; Windows and macOS were not affected! This update makes a small update to SDL that was added today, to fix Steam Deck OSK support: https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL/commit/c4b9f621649d4e2ddb05e7f396e43e2d9e0402cc With this change, the name entry screen should now automatically bring up Steam Deck's built-in keyboard! Aside from the SDL binary, all other files in the installation were untouched. We're hoping that this is the version that will get us a fully Verified rating! Enjoy!
Hi everyone! This is just a quick update from the game's Linux porter to bring the 1.0.0.9 update to Linux and macOS - this was important to preserve save compatibility across all three OSes, which is needed to pass Deck Verified cert. As soon as I finish writing this I'll be resubmitting the game to Valve so that we can get Deck support fixed! If you're playing on Deck right now, I strongly recommend forcing SteamLinuxRuntime in Properties > Compatibility > Force Compatibility Tool. Once our Deck status is updated it will likely end up doing this anyway, so better to be early than too late! Thanks to everyone for their continued support!
The recent public beta is now over and the patch has been released. As previously noted, major patches will now be preserved in Steam Beta branches. The previous patch is still accessible as it was when it was live. 1.0.0.9 Saves - Moved save data, config file, and log files to User Documents (Windows Only). - Existing saves and config file are copied to the same folder. - Added cloud saves for Steam (Windows Only). - Player inventory size has been increased, saves are no longer backwards compatible. Enemies - Fixed various enemy grabs ignoring collisions and/or teleporting the player. - The Coveting can no longer go off screen. - The Coveting now both activate upon damaging the Coveted axe. - That Stench Most Foul's stenchpods can now reenter the arena. - Angsty Bones ai updated. Can teleport a maximum 3 times in a row. - Murdiella Mal no longer drops salt on NG+ cycles. - Kraekan Wyrm no longer clips into the floor. - Witch of the Lake can no longer go off screen. - Jester can no longer be pulled out of his room. - Ground fire can no longer damage bosses if player is outside the arena. - Tree of Men now properly returns stolen salt at 75% hp.
Here's what's happening: - The 1.0.0.9 beta will run for 1-2 months. This build is limited to Windows. - The majority of changes are done and will be monitored. Other changes are still ongoing. - The patch includes a save location migration and cloud sync to that location. - There are new menu options in English. Hello again! We have been hard at work preparing a new patch for you. Patch 1.0.0.9 is coming soon. Bugs are getting squashed and quality of life features are being added, including cloud saves! As a precaution and for testing, the patch will be released as an opt-in beta sometime in late August. When we are confident that the patch is what was intended, it will go live to all of Steam. We will also be preserving the previous patch as it has lasted a while, and many may want to preserve former features. Through the same process as Steam opt-in betas, you will be allowed to down-patch to 1.0.0.8. Specific core patches in the future may also be preserved this way. Any old patches will be as they were, so they will lack any new features and fixes.
