Puzzle Solutions [SPOILER]

This is the list of all the puzzles in the game. The list will explain their logic rather than providing the direct answer, such as the sequence of numbers or the exact path to take. WARNING: {SPOILER ALERT!} DO NOT PROCEED IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS. THE THRESHOLD

  • The first puzzle requires the use of resonance on the tree with the orange rune. The player must then run through the fog before it reappears. This step should be repeated once more to complete the puzzle.
  • The second puzzle involves matching four notes. The player plays the full track by using resonance while standing on the middle platform. By interacting with the resonance on the statues in a certain order, the puzzle can be solved.
THE ISLAND OF SOULS
  • No puzzles in the Island of Souls on any version.
THE NAVENKAN
  • No puzzles in the Navenkan.
THE TWILIGHT ISLANDS
  • The first puzzle is the shisha puzzle (the worm). The player must follow the specific starting shisha movements and track it down each time. The puzzle becomes harder as it progresses. Using resonance could help.
  • The second puzzle is the synchronization puzzle. The player must use resonance to rotate rocks that produce sounds in certain spots. The goal is to have all three rocks producing the correct sound simultaneously. The catch is that the rocks will rotate back if not interacted with.
  • The third puzzle requires the player to match the sound of the middle platform, similar to the tutorial puzzle. This time, one note at a time.
  • The final puzzle requires the player to bring all four pamuns to the river using resonance. The player can do this one at a time or all together. The pamuns have a range within which they can be called, and after some time, they return to their original position.
THE NEST
  • The nest puzzle is tricky. To solve it, the player must follow an invisible NPC that can only be heard using resonance. The NPC can walk, run, and stop. If it stops, the player must stop as well. If the NPC goes off track or moves, it gets teleported. At the end, the player must use resonance on the simple platform below the egg.
THE PLAINS OF ASHES
  • This puzzle requires the player to run across the land without getting caught by the spirits. To do this, the player must use resonance to stop some of the ghosts while staying far away from the others. Some ghosts are invisible and move only while using resonance, while others do not. The puzzle can be completed entirely by running, without using resonance.
THE LIKO'S NEST
  • The first of the three minions, the invisible one, must be caught by using resonance to hear if its closer. The player should interact with it when close enough. The closer the player gets, the louder the sound.
  • The second minion, the deaf one, must be caught by walking very slowly toward it and then sprinting at the end. To walk slower, the player can use resonance.
  • The final minion must be caught by redirecting it toward a bell and using resonance on the bell itself. Afterward, the player must interact with the minion.
FINAL SEQUENCE
  • This sequence is self-explanatory. The only secret is that there are two possible endings in this part.
We hope this guide proves helpful to players. Thank you for playing!

Known Issues Unsolvable but Acknowledged

This is a bullet-point list of all known issues in the game. These are problems that, for various reasons, cannot be fixed but are acknowledged by us.

  • Save System: We are aware that the save system may feel frustrating, as the game only saves journal data during runtime and saves the level only at the start of a chapter. Unfortunately, due to technical and skill limitations, we couldn't implement a more advanced save system. However, we designed the chapters to be short enough to minimize frustration.
  • Colliders: Some objects have colliders that allow players to run on them. This is a known bug, but it doesnt cause any critical issues. Sometimes it can be fun, while other times it may allow players to "cheese" or strategize their way through parts of the game. It should never be a major problem.
  • Stickiness: We are aware that colliding with certain walls can feel too sticky. Unfortunately, for performance reasons, we had to remove part of the code that improved this issue.
  • General Puzzles: We recognize that some puzzles require little to no skill, while others are more complex. Our focus was primarily on the artistic and narrative aspects of the game, aiming to keep the gameplay from feeling too slow or "cheesy." In some cases, this approach led to issues, particularly with the Nest Puzzle.
  • The Nest Puzzle: This puzzle underwent many changes during development and, while a good puzzle in itself, it turned out to be too complicated and frustrating for this game. It remains difficult and unclear, especially when skipping dialogues. We added as many visual and sound clues as possible to reduce frustration, but we acknowledge that it may still feel unintuitive.
  • Language Support: As a narrative-driven game, we would love to add more language options. However, due to lack of funding, we are currently unable to do so.
  • Resonance bug: sometimes, holding the Resonance button for too long and passing between invisible checkpoints may break the ability.
  • Juna Cloths: Juna cloths may break on lag spikes.
We truly appreciate your support, and every piece of feedback helps make the game better. This list will be updated over time.

Half Away is a Narrative Puzzle-Adventure set in a vibrant realm inspired by Slavic and Japanese folklore. Journey with Juna as she navigates the Spirit Realm, using her unique power to hear hidden voices and connect with spirits on a path of self-discovery and choice.

Juna awakens in a mystical forest with no memory of arriving, only a faint recollection of being ill. She soon realizes she's in Limbo, a land where spirits dwell and where humans rarely tread. To return to life, she must embark on a journey of ancient mysteries, mystical powers, and encounters with spirits, both kind and mysterious.

Will Juna return home, or stay in Limbo to aid both spirits and humans, shaping the events of the living world?

Explore the fragmented lands of Limbo, where ancient spirits reside and hidden                         secrets await. Uncover their stories and unravel the mysteries of this mystical                           world.

Listen to objects in the world to uncover hidden details and collect vital information.                Every discovery is recorded in your journal, providing clues that guide your journey.

Embark on a branching journey with key decisions that influence Juna’s path and the               fates of spirits and humans, shaping the story’s outcome.

Solve puzzles with the help of friendly spirits and the power of Resonance.                                By listening  the hidden voices of the world, you can unlock secrets and overcome                    environmental challenges.

Uncover four unique endings as you solve puzzles with the guidance of friendly spirits             and the power of Resonance.

Expect a deeply narrative-driven experience, where most of the game focuses on storytelling. Puzzles play a secondary role and are not the core focus. Created by a small indie studio, the game is designed to be a short and meaningful experience, as we chose to focus on crafting a compact journey for our first game.
