PropFight is a 2D physics-based fighting game where you play random props in random arenas where random events occur.

Winter update (a bit late)

- Level blocks visuals now differ and may change with different backgrounds (can be used for mods too)

- Many block visuals were added for fitting to backgrounds

- Many backgrounds were added some slight postprocessing

- Tsunami visual was enhanced

- Winter season is now in for the lobby

- Tweak outlines to hopefully make them look better

- Some other tweaks I forgot

- It doesn\'t look like it but it\'s kind of a big update (at least visually)

The mods and modding API has been updated too

Autumn Update

Autumn Update is here, introducing seasons, lots of fixes and a new prop!

I had a few problems with this update that are hopefully solved. If the game crashes or has issues, don\'t hesitate to report them on Discord

- New prop: Umbrella

- Add 2 more colors to the game

- Add autumn to the game, it only affects the lobbby\'s appearance

- Events and powerups are now unlocked after a few levels, instead of being available for new players directly

- \"Tsunami\" now has a real collision shape (it was a square before)

- Rain background now interacts a bit with the world

- Rename \"Chromatics\" to \"Trip\" and change its behaviour

- Change \"Deform\" effect processing

- Add a few emotes

- Update to Godot 4.5 (the game should now launch faster)

- Add some missing translations

- Juice Pogostick, Cross and Football a bit

- Enhance the explosion fx and the outlines with a bit of IGN dithering (thanks acerola)

- Fix a lot of small (or less small) bugs all around the game

A few hotfixes, and testing better a theorically collision detection

- Fix powerup effects being given to only one player\n- Fix some bug where death effects would have improper positionning\n- Fix a bug that would make killscreens with physics objects behave improperly (fixes Blackhole)\n- Fix the camera scaling not being the same with different level zooms\n- Slightly enlarge the \'Eater\' killscreen\n- Slow objects in \'Spawner11\'\n\nI now use continuous CD (collision detection) on props and some other physics objects, this should make the game run slightly slower (theorically, but I didn\'t notice it yet), but make collision detection slightly better. On that note:\n\n- Nerf deagle/kalashnikov bullets since collision detection was buffed\n\n\nAlso the game should now have a proper Nintendo Switch Pro Controller config

Bugfixes and new stuff

It is now possible to make levels with a different camera zoom. This permits to have bigger levels.\nBackgrounds, Killscreens and Powerups are not scaled, Events aren\'t either, but it\'s not forced.\nA few levels were added to showcase this new feature.\n\n- Add some more levels\n- Remove CRT option, bring it back in an event with a better look (Pixelize)\n- Add a bit of audio processing for some events (Pixelize, Wind, Tsunami, LowGravity)\n- Change a lot of powerup visuals to fix physics interpolation, accidentally making some of them better (Revert, HighJump, Sleep, Freeze)\n- Put back Godot Input for emotes on triggers (for controllers)\n- Fix some many minor bugs\n- Lots of tweaks here and there\n\nAlso, the API was updated

Small update with various changes

Twitch

- Add a more noticeable countdown to votes
- Add a feedback to votes being registered
- Show the name of the event selected upon selection
- Fix players picking in votes

Other

- Rename events "ColorFlip" to "Chromatics", "ColorSwitch" to "ColorFluid" and "LowG" to "LowGravity"
- Make "Chromatics" event more noticeable
- Enhance the blackhole killscreen effect
- Add a slight visual change to the "LowGravity" event
- Rename "race" levels to "survival"

Gun reworks

- Guns now drop bullets on shooting (it's just fancy)
- Deagle now reloads after 7 bullets shot
- Rework very slightly deagle/kalashnikov sounds
- "Highjump" powerup now also increases shooting speed for shooting props
- Nerf grenade launcher a bit

Bugfixes, gameplay content, tweaks and save

The game should now save your progress on the cloud, so you can have a backup when moving to another PC, or re-installing the game.

Twitch

  • New potential vote: "Which player would you help" (gives 5 point to the most voted player)
  • Change the random pick animation from a random sequence to a more "roulette" style animation
  • Launch events instantly on pick, not on the next round

Bugfixes

  • Probably fix threaded loading of game parts, thus fixing deadlocks (note the 'probably')
  • Fix some collision sounds not triggering
  • Fix some sounds attenuation/freeing issues
  • Enhance hit detection a tiny bit for contact props (Basketball, Cross, Crate, Football, Rugby)
  • Add some forgotten translations

Gameplay

  • New event: SuperProp
  • Crate now works with a charge jump
  • Bazooka can now slightly control the missile direction
  • Slightly lower Bazooka power
  • GrenadeLauncher bullets now explode each other when close to each other
  • Jump buffering has been added for Crate, Football, Fridge, GloveBox, Rugby, Toaster
  • Change event modifier values (in the menu)

Modding

  • 'util' isn't a loaded node anymore, all its functions are now static
  • game.time_scale variable to change time scale
  • game.event_new_round signal triggered on each new round (useful for events)

Twitch hotfix

Changed Twitch authentification method from "Implicit Flow" to "Device Code".

This requires slightly more steps but will cause less issues with different systems and remote play focus

Twitch integration, color updates and more

Some cool changes coming in, some less, probably new bugs, who knows? This update hasn't been tested a lot so as always if you encounter bugs, please report them in our discord server .

Chinese translation hasn't been updated in time and it's entirely my fault. It will be updated when it can.

Anyways, here's a quick overview of the changes

Twitch integration


The game should now permit Twitch integration (go to Game Settings > Twitch).
This will change the event system to only work with votes. The Twitch chat will be able to vote for the next events they want, and you can set the voting time.

Gameplay


A few workshop addons were added to the base game
- Fog event
- Wind event
- Freeze powerup

- A few arenas were added to the game
- Added a hard limit of 16 to the x2 powerup (so this doesn't happen anymore) https://youtu.be/qaR-x7vMiFY

Graphics


- Player colors were all changed to be a bit better looking and less eye hurting
- A few backgrounds were adjusted to be a bit better looking in terms of colors too
- A slight vignette effect was added on the background layer to make it a bit smoother
- The crate texture was remade (hype!)

Engine


The Godot Engine version was bumped from 4.3 to 4.4.1, this should enhance performance a bit but might trigger some new bugs.
The game now also triggers a bunch of not important errors too, but that will only be a tiny issue for mod makers.

There was a lot of code cleanup and fixes, mainly to solve problems due to changing the Godot Engine version, but also to try to fix pre-existing bugs that were just silent or whatever.

Nobody asked for it (yet), but here it is, the colorblind mode option!


You can access the option at Game Settings -> Accessibility and even force your friends to play without colors.

With that, team indicators were also made different shapes to help with colorblindness, and were added as a new cosmetic.

The shop was also enhanced a bit, and a few other adjustments were also made, like Cross being a bit more powerful or some more canvas layering issues were (hopefully) fixed.

- try to boost the cross's attacking capability, probably making it even buggier
- tweak some minor audio and visual things

- fix the background's front layer loading
- fix a bug where clashing keyboard inputs wouldn't be set and stored properly

no more reWASD

Some players were using reWASD to have several people playing on a single keyboard.

You can now bind up to 4 players on keyboard/mouse (their respective inputs must be different from one another)

This can be useful over parsec or remote play if you don't have a controller, or if you want to exceed the remote play controller limit of 4 controllers connected (so you could theorically have 4 controller players and 4 keyboard players on remote play).

Don't hesitate to report bugs on the Discord server if you encounter any.

Thanks everyone who bought the game or got a key offered by some generous donator.

The game got released last week and we're already fixing some things over time, don't hesitate to report bugs you encounter on steam forums or on the official discord server !

The OST will soon be available on Steam but you can already listen to it on Spotify , Youtube or some other streaming platforms .

What's planned?


Not much is planned for now except Twitch integration which is being worked on. I'm planning to work on enhancing the modding support and make a better documentation. On that note...

Looking for modders


The game heavily focuses on making mods and right now I'm the only user of my tools so I don't really know what's missing/needed to add to the documentation. I'm open to questions and suggestions regarding modding and the documentation, so don't hesitate to ask something, even if it you think it sounds dumb, it's probably not.
