More support for low-end machines
Among those we also added our first music tracks, sound effects, and ways to change the volume in the options. Yes, we also set the music level to NOT 100% the first time you boot the game. We're working hard on delivering a playable alpha, but needed to implement some mandatory quality of life performance features. We're playing on purpose on good and lower-end machines to see what the experience would be. And in that spirit, have added several options to make the game smoother!
- Resolution changes
- Resolution upscaling with FSR. Basically, rendering the game at a lower resolution and upscaling it. It's surprisingly very good visually and have huge gains.
- Shadow distance/quality. You can disable shadows entirely, or tweak the distance at which they will start to fade gracefully.
