Welcome to Fanterra, your typical fantasy world. Legendary heroes defeated The Dark Lord but boy were they in a hurry. During their epic run through the campaign, not a single side quest was completed.
While many cheered his downfall, townsfolk, shopkeepers, and farmers were left waiting for news of lost loved ones, stolen relics, and failing crops. Some even whisper the Dark Lord has respawned.
With the heroes gone, perhaps it's time for ordinary adventurers to finish the job.

Fast turn-based combat
Combat in AfterQuest is fast, fluid, and responsive. Spells and attacks are beautifully animated but designed for quick execution, ensuring the action never slows down. With an ARPG-style interface, there are no menus to navigate—just smooth, instant actions.
Beneath the speed lies plenty of depth. A wide range of abilities, elemental interactions, status effects, gear, and consumables create endless strategic possibilities, letting you adapt, experiment, and master every battle.

Cozy customization
In-between side quests, you can cozy up at your camp to learn more about your heroes, level up, equip new gear, and modify skills and various perks.
Combine ingredients found while questing to craft powerful consumables to help you on your next adventure.

Complete quests, earn rewards
Each quest has a unique story to tell. Find out what happened to the missing villager, or what those bandits used the stolen relics for when no one bothered to find them.
Quests play out like classic dungeon crawlers. Behind every tile could be an enemy encounter, a hidden treasure, or something entirely unexpected.
Hi Friend,
Chad, here, Founder & Creative Director at Ember Arcade. First things first: thank you from the bottom of my heart for wishlisting our very first game, AfterQuest. Like you, I love video games, especially ones like AfterQuest that are handmade with care and a reverence for the art and joy of gaming.
The team and I have been quiet, working behind the scenes building and refining the game to capture our vision, a game that blends the nostalgia, depth and charm of the classics that inspired us, with the accessibility of modern design ideas.
Building a game from scratch as a small self-funded team has been a journey, to say the least, and I want to bring you all along for the ride. Read on to learn what we\'ve been up to and how game development is progressing.
TL;DR? We\'re ready to move into full scale production, and have decided on a path that will bring AfterQuest to you in the most polished and complete state possible. More info coming very soon, so please stay tuned.
So, what have we been up to?
Over the past few months weve been refining the dungeon-crawling framework that ties everything together. I\'m very excited with how this portion of the game loop is now feeling. Take a look below for a tease at what weve been building:

Weve also been fleshing out the games meta-progression systems, another key piece of the roguelite loop. Without revealing too much just yet, this next image offers a hint at whats to come:

And of course, new spells continue to make their way into the game, each one fully hand-animated and crafted to feel distinct, and designed with tons of modifiers and synergies in mind:

Theres still plenty left to share, and were getting close to a big milestone, one well be announcing very soon.
Keep an eye out for more updates in the coming weeks, and again, thank you for taking part in this journey.
