\r\n\r\nSo, the big project that we have planned - and started - for next year quickly revealed itself to be physically impossible to pay for, even for a 2027 title. So we pivoted. \r\n\r\n2026 is our 10th year in existence, and as such, we have at least one 10th Anniversary game planned: Army of Tentacles. Now, this would essentially be a DLC-sized and priced upgraded version of AoT 1. New quests, an entirely new Army Invasion system, new party member skills and a much more robost Word Battle system. But that will mostly be an October-ish game, and pre-Summer Sale will belong to:\r\n\r\nPaper Shakespeare 3.\r\n\r\nNot a To Date Or Not To Date, because this time, we\'re focusing more of a quest system and less dating sim. This will be the first game in our War of the Roses trilogy, which will ultimately end our mad quest to adapt every Shakespeare play into a video game. \r\n\r\nDinosaur Shakespeare 3 will most likely be Early January.\r\n\r\nWe wish everyone a happy Black Friday. \r\n\r\nSo, an update on Scarecrows of Illyria.\r\n\r\nThe rewrite will happen, and it\'ll probably be a new (free) DLC, but it\'s also.... something that has slipped as a priority. \r\n\r\nA few reasons:\r\n\r\n1) When I started the project with my co-designer, it was in the middle of a family crisis that gradually got worse and worse. It got so bad and my emotional state got so bad that I ended up making some really not great management decisions. I mismanaged the project, from the AI backgrounds (that, at the time, we had every reason to believe were not AI), to not giving the writer the proper notes that my co-designer had given me.\r\n\r\n2) The juice just isn\'t there anymore. Rather than worry over a project that all parties have agreed is the past, I\'d rather focus on the future. My co-designer and I have talked. We\'re fine. They know I tried to make things right. That I want to make things right.\r\n\r\n3) Before the story, getting the AI out of the game was the main priority. \r\n\r\nSo that\'s the update. A bit more clarity on the situation.\r\n\r\n

The final DLC for Tentacle Prawn is out now, and for some reason, this post did not out last night! Never fear, for now it has.

Rewritten and recoded about three times, it now exists as sort of an Epilogue-Dev Diary hybrid. With choices! And characters that you might not have seen since Super Army of Tentacles 3 (but who have aged in real time because that's the kind of detail gamers notice, right?).

What shall become of the Old Gods now that they have returned to the past to right the wrongs of.... the past? Will they be fated to return to the dating sim dimension once more? Will anyone kiss? Is kissing still a thing? These are important questions that need answers hammered out before the new world order becomes the new world order.

Happy May 12th, everybody! Yes, it is another sale. Yes, it is not April, when Shakespeare's birthday actually is. That was going to be the first of two things, but I started writing before I made the list, so here we are.


The second thing is that you may notice our sale strategy is a bit different this time around. We're trying out new numbers, testing out new DLC pricing to see if it moves that needle at all.

Ten year ago, Army of Tentacles 1 was greenlit. A year after that, we had sold over 400 copies on Steam. Eight years ago, we decided to make every Shakespeare play into a game. We're two games away from that goal.
