As game development progresses, it becomes harder to find time to write articles. But now, it's time to update our future players.
First of all, I'd like to thank you for your support and for all the wishlists that have already been added. Then, I'd like to show you the new GSC logo:
Development Progress
For everyone waiting for the release of GSC, I can tell you that we are making great progressespecially considering that it's just the two of us working on all aspects of the game, from assets to coding.Currently, we have completed the development of the game's main loop. This means that the player can already start the store, buy products, stock them on shelves, sell them, make a profit, and more. Players can also purchase store assets like shelves and console display booths. One of the mechanics we are particularly excited about is the exclusive and fun old-school credit card payment system, which we previously showcased in this post: Old School CC Machine .
For the DEMO release, GSC will feature around 15 different products, including two different consoles from the late '70s and '80s, about 10 games, and other items. It's important to note that the DEMO will not cover multiple console generationsalthough we plan to include them all as development progresses. I can confirm that by the Early Access release, we plan to have multiple generations and all the products available at that stage of development.
At the moment, we are finalizing some core features and fixing bugs to prepare for alpha testing next month. This phase will allow us to collect valuable early feedback. After that, we will release the DEMO and start preparing for Steam Next Fest and the Early Access launch.
Final Thoughts
We are super excited about the game's progress and would love to share more with you, but that's all we can disclose right now. Follow us here, visit our artwork and check our socials. Leave us a comment or a suggestionat the end of the day, we are making GSC for you, and your participation is super important!THANKS,

Our ultimate vision for NPC interactions is to create a dynamic and immersive game store experience. While not all features will be available at launch, we will continue expanding and refining these elements over time to bring your store to life in the most engaging way possible.
In Game Store Chronicle, your store isn't just a place to sell gamesit's a living, breathing space filled with customers who browse, chat, and react to their surroundings. Here's a look at how NPC interactions will make your store feel more alive than ever.
Browsing and Finding Products
Customers dont just randomly pick itemsthey scan the shelves, inspect products, and even react to pricing. Organizing your store strategically can influence their shopping experience. Well-placed bestsellers might fly off the shelves, while hidden gems might take longer to be noticed.
Conversations and Customer Reactions
NPCs arent just silent shoppers. They might chat about the latest releases, debate which console is the best, or even share nostalgia for classic games. Some may even give hints about what theyre looking for, giving you an edge in stocking the right inventory.
Checkout and Help Requests
Interactions dont stop at the register. Customers will have different personalitiessome are chatty, others are in a hurry, and a few might even try to haggle. Players will also assist shoppers who ask for recommendations, search for specific games, or inquire about trade-ins.
Your Store, Your Influence
How you organize your store affects NPC behavior. A cluttered store might frustrate customers, while a well-arranged layout can boost sales and create a smoother shopping experience. Keeping things fresh and accessible will be key to success.
Every customer in Game Store Chronicle has a story, and how you manage your store shapes their experience. Get ready to create the ultimate retro game shopping destination!
Arcade machines were a game store staple in the '80s and '90s, attracting customers with flashing screens and high-score battles. In GSC, you'll manage your own lineup, choosing the right cabinets to keep players coming back.
This is an example of our beautiful Galactic Force machine:
