This major update brings big improvements to performance, accessibility, and the overall learning experience. Heres whats new:

The game now runs more smoothly, with higher FPS even on slower machines.

2. Full Steam Deck support
WonderLang now plays flawlessly on Steam Deck, with an official control layout optimized for handheld play.

3. Smarter auto-saving
The game now automatically saves after each dialogue, making it easier to stop and resume anytime no progress lost!

4. Slowed-down speech options + improved listening support

All NPC lines are now slightly slower by default, to improve clarity.

You can also replay lines at a slower speed during dialogues, exercises, and reviews perfect for learners.

5. In-game notepad for taking and reviewing notes
Take notes during dialogues or from the pause menu (check your documents for the notepad item).
You can also review your notes during certain dialogue exercises.

6. Mouse playability significantly improved

Better pathfinding and smoother movement

Events/NPCs no longer trigger by accident

Transitions between areas now work reliably with mouse only

7. Type accented characters with your physical keyboard
Special characters (, , , etc.) are now assigned to number keys on your physical keyboard no need to open the visual keyboard if you dont want to.

8. Now compatible with Intel-based Macs
WonderLang now runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel-based Macs.

9. Improved character portraits
Some portraits were updated to create a more cohesive and consistent art style.

10. Added missing voice lines
A few missing audio lines have now been added.

11. Better mini-game experience
Several mini-games and test sections were tweaked for smoother, more intuitive gameplay.

12. Bug fixes and visual polish
Various minor bugs and display issues have been cleaned up.

Full Steam Deck Compatibility!
WonderLang is now fully Steam Deck compatible! Weve added a virtual keyboard that allows you to type directly on the touchscreen, making the game much smoother to play on Steam Deck. No more workaroundsjust seamless gameplay!

Choose Your Learning Level!
We know every learner is different, so weve introduced three new modes to tailor the experience to your skill level:

Beginner Mode Perfect for complete beginners! Includes extra review challenges to reinforce learning.
A1 Level For learners aiming for A1 or those who have recently reached it. Skips simpler challenges and review sections, allowing faster progress.
A2 Level For learners aiming for A2+ who want to focus on advanced content. Removes review challenges and makes earlier sections optional.
You can switch between these modes anytime in the settings! If you already started playing, the option will be set to beginner by default.
