Twanging Tones and Elderly Grunts
Lose yourself in a soundscape all its own. The first video game soundtrack dedicated to jews-harp music in a variety of strictly traditional and experimental styles. With painstaking adherence to centuries old tradition, only using instruments from their respective regions, classic twangs from Austria, Norway, India, Kyrgyzstan, the British Isles and America will delight your ears with every jugular jiggle. Accompanied with over 3000+ personally recorded mouth-originated SFX, prepare your cochleas to be tickled to the extreme.
Esophaguys will be featured with a live demo and video presentation at the 10th International Jew\'s Harp Congress, hosted in Hokkaido, Japan, October 24 - 26, 2025. A deep dive into the instrument\'s integral role in the narrative, gameplay, and audio - the video features live performances and in-game examples of the harp\'s extensive use.\n\nThe first International Jew\'s Harp Congress was held in 1984 September in Iowa City, USA, and like the Olympics, the event is hosted each time by a different country around the world. Except that it follows no specific timeline, and it happens only when it finds a host country capable of pulling it off!\n\nThis 10th International Jews Harp Congress/Festival is organized by the Japan Jews Harp Association in partnership with the International Jews Harp Society, along with the Ainu Association of Akan and the Akan Jews Harp Society.\n\nIt will be held this weekend at the Ainu-village Akanko Ainu Kotan on the shore of Lake Akan, located amidst volcanoes and forests within the Akan-Mashu National Park in Hokkaido, Northern Japan.\n\nA live stream for the festival can be viewed here: [dynamiclink href=\"https://www.youtube.com/live/y7nymqfm8j4\"][/dynamiclink]\n\n[/img]
