Hello, everyone! Welcome to the second relatively large update, which introduces new mechanics that change gameplay, tons of new items, a new biome, and a pedestal for summoning your first boss! Have fun, survivors! Ive been feeling a bit under the weather, which slowed down the development process, so I couldnt add everything I had planned. But youll be able to see those additions in the next update, v0.4, which Ill start working on after a short break!

Gameplay:


  • Added a new biome: "Jungle" (content expansion expected in v0.4)
  • Added a boss: "Jungle Guardian"
  • Added an Ancient Pedestal for summoning bosses
  • Added a new mob: "Jungle Slime"
  • Added a new mob: "Spore Skeleton"
  • Added a Multicooker for advanced food preparation (recipes expected in v0.4)
  • Added a Potion Brewing Station
  • Added a Cooking Pot for basic food and drinks
  • Added a Campfire with Grill (6 cooking slots, faster cooking, longer burn time)
  • Added an Iron Furnace with two slots and higher processing speed
  • Added a Hand Crusher for crushing stone and wheat into flour
  • Breadmaking now requires grinding wheat into flour, making dough, and baking it

Update v0.2

Hello everyone! Welcome to the first update, v0.2, that Ive been working on since release! This update brings numerous improvements to enhance gameplay experience and new content. Check out the list of changes below. P. S. Please note that saves from v0.1 will not be compatible with v0.2 due to ongoing changes in the games architecture. Apologies for any inconvenience! For those who want to continue playing with old saves, Ive added a new build branch for v0.1. Just select it in the Steam settings to download and continue your progress.

Technical Improvements:


  • The engine core has been updated to the latest version, LWJGL 3.3.4!
  • Added a borderless window mode option.
  • Switching between fullscreen mode is now much faster.
  • The game now launches by default in full-screen mode at the monitor's native resolution.
  • Dynamic switching of the audio device is now possible while the game is running.
  • Improved settings menu with active audio device and GPU display.
  • Reduced the games executable file size to 1.12 MB.

Gameplay:


  • Added an easy mode for beginners.
  • Added stakes for base defense (iron ones can be electrified).
  • Added bone meal for fast crop growth.
  • Added tall grass growth with bone meal.
  • Red apple trees now generate in oak forests.
  • Green apple trees now generate in birch forests.

Early Access release!

Hello everyone, dear friends! I am happy to inform you that Deep Despair 3 has already been released in early access and is waiting for you with open arms! I know that many fans of the second part of the game have been waiting for this sequel for 3 years. And I am very glad that together we have reached this important date, when you will again be able to plunge into the atmosphere of deep despair and survival, but already significantly updated and improved in all aspects. The game has already come a long and thorny path in development, but it still has much more to go before the full release. Early access is a way to develop and evolve the game together with you until it becomes the game we want to see in the final iteration. There is still a lot to add to the game. In future updates, I plan to add new biomes, new enemies and bosses, items, weapons and equipment, new opportunities to protect your base and the electricity system, magic and firearms and much more. I will try to release updates as often as possible so that you don't get bored and always discover something new in the game! But for this I need your support, because only with you does all this make sense. Thanks to everyone who waited for the release of the game, and good luck with your survival! Dead Lands Update

Hello everyone! I want to tell you a little about the updated biome "Dead Lands". Now it will not just be an area on the map with dead vegetation, but also a full-fledged underground structure. Dangerous high-level mobs will live in it. Fights with them will become comfortable after the character reaches level 8 and at least with silver equipment. As you approach this gloomy place, the world loses its colors, the sun stops shining, and pitch darkness sets in at night. And only dead fireflies somehow thin it out. In general, do not go here, there is never peace here.

The structure consists of solid dead stone, which can be destroyed with at least a diamond pickaxe. It has only a few entrances, and inside you can find chests with useful and valuable loot, including a diamond disk, familiar to you from the second part of the game. The chests will be locked, and to unlock them, you will need to fight the local boss - the Undead, who drops the key and parts of the dead armor. The diamond disk will be needed to upgrade the advanced workbench to the workshop, which will give you access to the crafting of diamond tools. After that, you will be able to mine titanium in the depths of the caves! Titanium tools, weapons and armor can be upgraded to magma at the fiery forge using magma shards and fire powder.
Rafts have also been added to the game for more comfortable movement along water spaces. In the spruce forest, you can meet rabbits. An electricity system has been added, thanks to which you can use mechanisms and remotely control certain objects. Work on the game is in full swing every day, and thanks to liters of coffee, I now work 24-30 hours with rare breaks for sleep! After all, the early access release will take place on October 22, and I want to have time to add as much content to the game as possible. There is still a long and painstaking work ahead before this game becomes what I want it to be, and what you want it to be! So I really hope for your support and understanding, friends. And I look forward to your new ideas and wishes. Let's make Deep Despair 3 better together!

Minions and The Slug Lord!

Hello everyone! The game is being developed at an accelerated pace, and I am in a hurry to share the progress with you. Now a new class will appear in the game - Summoner. It will also be available for leveling. At the moment, 2 minions have been added to the game: Undead Minion and Firewing. I also finished working on the first added boss - the Slime Lord! He will live in the Slime Wasteland, and we can summon him by placing the slime mass on the pedestal. In this way, all bosses in the game will be summoned using unique summoners. Don't forget to add the game to your wishlist, because the early access release will take place on October 22!

Deep Despair 3 is an open-world survival action-adventure with RPG elements! The game is a direct continuation and expansion of the second part.
