\nThe numerical system has now changed to be able to handle large number, it will now display a letter to signify such as K for thousand or M for million. This resolved an issue where numbers over a certain size would flip into the negatives.\n\nTrinket Descriptions
\nTrinkets that had variations such as +2 multiplier were not displaying this on the descriptions, the description now had had this re-added with additional clarifications.\n\nOthers
\nRemoved the fish displayed on the right side when ending a cast.\nFixed issues with the progression bar not working under certain end conditions.Update 0.3!
I\'ve been excited to release this update as it\'s progressed, we have some exciting changes and additions!
New Environments
As showcased in the previous update, the environments have been completely reworked visually.
Gone are the featureless blocks, we now have environments that feel more alive with little fish swimming around and a multitude of coral life!

Sky fishing is here!
I\'ve finally added the sky fishing environment; unlocked after building the sky tower this environment features vine covered ruins to fly around and explore.

New trinkets!
As with every update, we have new trinkets to show off, this update features trinkets which add abilities to the sea opals as you collect them!

Fish can now move in three modes:
Moving - normal movement

Auto tap removes the need to tap in tapping fish action events.
No lure gravity removes any gravity/falling from the lure, giving more control back.
Colour blind mode adds icons to the fish, allowing for those with visual impairments to see more clearly what colour (or icon) a fish is as well as what perks it may have.

It\'s spooky season! I hope you\'re all keeping warm and feeling that pumpkin spice energy!
This update will bring a bit of a look into the upcoming level changes (and additions!), the existing coastal and deep sea levels have been visually reworked, removing the older blocky aesthetic, as has the island!

September Development Update
The last couple of months have been very busy! A lot of life admin, as well as working on upskilling in a areas such as digital and 3D artwork.
That said, I\'ve been working on some fun new mechanics coming to you by the end of this year!
Sky Fishing!
The tower has been built and sat waiting, but soon you\'ll finally be able to use it to go fishing in the sky!
Explore a floating temple and capture all new flying creatures.

New Trinket Varieties!

A new arcade mode of playing is being introduced, where the goal is to fish as many days as you can with an ever increasing score goal.

We\'re into 0.2!
It\'s been a month since the early access release of Stu the fisherman and the feedback has been great!
I\'ve been hard at work on this next update, which I think will be an exciting one for you all too.
New Progression System
Everything up to this point has been numbers; multiply value by value and earn money to buy everything you\'d ever need. This has changed.
You now fish to earn points (still value x multiplier) which collect week-by-week towards earning rewards.

These can be new trinkets or materials that are used to upgrade your gear and rebuild the town!

Rainbow Fish
Mentioned in the devlog update, a whole new variant of fish has been added, these fish count as any colour, meaning that they count towards trinkets such as stone, glass and shell which all target colours individually! With this new variant come all new trinkets that convert your fish into the rainbow variant!

New UI
The UI has been given a face lift! Away with the oversaturation of blue and in with a lost sailor feel, featuring pages and books that feel as though you\'re logging everything as you fish day to day.

Fishing will now feel less about the numbers with bars to measure distance and depth, as well as a new follow-net system where the fish you catch will follow your lure! You can see how many nets you have left for fish just by looking!

Development Update July 2025
Hi everyone! Thank you all for a great first couple of weeks with Stu the fisherman, I've been enjoying getting all of your feedback and making improvements from said feedback.
This update will cover some of the bits coming soon to give you an idea on how development is progressing.
New UI!
I've developed some new, much sleeker UI for the game, giving it more of a fisherman's log / travellers journal feeling!
The log and fisherman's shops have been adjusted into these beautiful book formats with tabs and defined structure.

Scoring, Progression and Flair
A whole new progression system has been added revolving around progressing up a forever growing target score. Each target met will have a reward such as Wood, Food, Metal or even Trinkets!
Interactions with fish and scoring now have bursts of particles and shaking to add energy and feeling to your progression.

A whole new fish variation and numerous Trinkets to interact with that new variation.
Rainbow fish count as any colour, meaning that they trigger all of your blue, red and green trinkets during scoring. New trinkets involve abilities such as converting fish to be rainbow when caught!

Thank you so much to everybody who has believed in this project so far, you all mean a lot and are incredibly appreciated!
I thought I would take this first update to share with you where the game is heading over the next year with our roadmap!
The first few months are going to focus on fixes and improvement based on feedback from people like yourself! This includes changes to the game economy, adding flare to the scoring and animations, as well as all new features like the rainbow fish (which counts as any colour) and trinkets to create all new combinations with.
Following on from that the focus will be on adding new mechanics, such as the sky fishing biome, an arcade mode that allows endless fishing separate to the story and the continuation of Stu's story itself.
