What is Deep in Enemy Territory?
Deep in Enemy Territory puts you in the boots of a United States soldier, stuck Deep in Enemy Territory.
Taking inspiration from the likes of Oregon Trail, and Organ Trail, with an all new perspective and take on the genre!
Deep in Enemy Territory is the next generation of Oregon Trail games, by adding new mechanics and more advanced, randomized scenarios.
If you love Oregon Trail, you are absolutely going to love Deep in Enemy Territory.
How do you win in Deep in Enemy Territory?
Much like Oregon Trail or Organ Trail, the player must get back to their main operating base safely.
Everything the player does is taken into a account to give you a score, which will be logged in your personal bests, and eventually we would like to implement an online leaderboard.

What I am asking from my early adopters
First of all, thank you so much for your interest in my game.
I want the community to be involved in making this a great game, and a worth successor of Oregon Trail. We will actively communicate together on the Steam Forums, as well as a Discord.
Pricing
We believe in fair pricing.
With the pre-alpha launch, we will release the game at a cheap introductory price.
As features are implemented, and the game is polished, the price will of course raise.
Use of AI
We currently are using generative AI for the pixel art. The model we use is Retro Diffusion, a high quality tool using art that is all legally owned by Retro Diffusion.
AI generated art will only be used for the advertising art, the landscapes, backgrounds, main menu, and some cut-scenes.
The direction we want to go in is generated landscapes, with hand drawn animated basic pixel art for scenes, as currently there is no way to lock-down style using AI generated pixel art.
Store Art, Art and Content May Change
Due to the pre-alpha nature of the game, art and content may change.
Alpha 1.0 Release!
Personal developer ramblings
Well guys, it\'s done.
We have finally release my first ever video game. This janky mess of passion has taken me months of coding from the ground up, and the game still needs a ton of work. With that being said I am proud to have finally created something and released it on the steam market. Even though this is a very early alpha, this is a major milestone in my life. I have always wanted to develop games since I was a kid.
Deep in Enemy Territory is a really strange game. It takes from quite a few major influences in my life. As a child I was always obsessed with the military. Less so these days, but WW2 and Vietnam always fascinated me. Roguelikes and TTRPGs have also always been at the forefront of my mind. This game is just me. Parts of me anyway.\n\nAnyhow, I am grateful that any of you are interested in this manifestation of my mind. At this current point in time, I am a bit lost with the game. I don\'t know where to push it. I don\'t know what to do with it. I don\'t even know if it was worth releasing on steam, but at the end of the day, it is what it is. It is something I wanted to do and I did it. I released a game on steam.\n\nWhen I was finally able to hit that release button, there was just a deep sense of joy that came over my soul. Sorry if you guys aren\'t into that, but I am. I felt deep joy in a more difficult time in my life with work stress.\n\nSome advice from me to you, remember to be here now. Remember to smell the flowers. To immerse yourself in the moment. To not let your life pass you by, because it goes quick. So much of my life has moved past me without me ever getting to truly enjoy it and be here. To appreciate the little things. To soak it all in. Life is too short.\n\nGet out there and live your life. Make your janky alpha 1.0 steam game. Do the things you want to do. Don\'t let your life pass you by.\n\nI know this all sounds corny, but it is where I am at.\n\nPeace and love all!\n
Next Update
With the next update, I am planning to add art for each scene, clean up some scenes, and also add new scenes. We\'ve got about 20 right now I believe, but that isn\'t enough for the experience I am trying to make. I want every run to feel different. A new story. A new TTRPG style adventure.
\nThe Future
For the future of this game, I am most excited for implementing mini games for hunting, and possibly even soldier encounters.\n
I need your help
This project has had no testers. It is being released in this rough state because I simply need help. I cannot keep building a game without some sort of direction on how to make this game fun, and the current state of the game. Personally at this point I don\'t think the game is fun, but I think it has potential to be fun.\n\nHonesty is my policy.
\nThanks and have fun
Thank you for reading. Hope you guys have fun with this mess of a game, and hopefully we can come together and build something unique.\n\nPeace and love - CowDogGames
