First Steam Playtest

Welcome to the first playtest of X-Mode on Steam! This weekend May 6th-7th there will be servers running and we will be playtesting the game. Feel free to join us!

Player progression through a leveling system. You can gain player XP through getting kills, assists, and game wins on official servers

Setting to enable item swaying while aiming
Admins are able to spawn items from the loadout menu
Command /spawn [item id] [amount] to spawn items into the world
Command /givekills [amount] to give yourself kill score

Changes

Game is now launchable through Steam
Infected gamemode - Infected have a random chance of dropping grenades on death - Infected are prevented from dropping/grabbing items
Switching items in your hands will now be more responsive
Ammo UI will now be more responsive
End game camera now zooms out to view the entire map
Default end game time from 10s to 15s
Valley map terrain is now flat shaded
Valley map tweaks to add extra cover
Gun muzzle flashes now emit light
Flash and frag grenades now emit light when triggering
Throwables now emit a trail when thrown
AWP fire animation
Team score UI is now always visible
Tweaks to the spawning system to make spawning more distributed
Player footsteps now emit particles

Fixes

Timeout issues when loading maps
Frag grenades did damage through walls
Player positions sometimes didnt sync correctly

X-Mode is a free-to-play medium paced multiplayer FPS with a variety of different gamemodes to play. Perfect for quick casual games with friends or if you're more hardcore you can grind for the top of the global leaderboard.

ABOUT THE DEVELOPER

X-Mode was developed almost completely by me, xZippyZachx. I've been developing video games as a solo indie dev since 2015. X-Mode started development in early 2020 and will be the first game I release on Steam. I also documented the X-Mode development process on YouTube if you're interested.
