You'll see a little ball in the right corner of the screen. If it's green, don't worry, your fish is fine. If it's yellow, you can check to see if it doesn't need anything. Clean the aquarium by left-clicking on it. You'll see a cleaning animation like the one below. Click until you can't see it anymore and your aquarium will be clean. Or, wait for the clean button, which will clean it all at once.
