Battle, collect and upgrade dozens of Rogumon in this creature-collecting roguelite. Unique items, moves, and abilities ensure that no two attempts will be the same. Enter the fray alongside your team as you together seek to escape from the eternal prison of Torment.

Key Features

  • Build your team: Ally yourself with the Rogumon you encounter. Train them, teach them new moves, and find equipment to strengthen them.

  • Adapt to Torment’s shifting obstacles: No two escape attempts will be the same. You’ll be forced to experiment with – and fight against – different Rogumon on each run. With adaptability, quick thinking, and a little luck, you just might be able to create an unstoppable team.

  • Join the fight: Your Rogumon aren’t simply for you to command; you’re all fighting for your freedom together. Whichever character you choose will grant a passive to your whole team and can enter battle with powerful signature moves. Just be careful – if they go down in battle, you’ll be dragged down to the depths of Torment once more.

  • Collect Rogumon: You'll encounter dozens of Rogumon across your attempts to escape. Do your best to escape with all of them.

  • Build your strength: Initially, you’ll be ill-suited for the malice Torment holds. But, with each run, you’ll acquire new means of overcoming its challenges. Unlock new items, Rogumon, and other ways of strengthening your team. Perhaps you might even find a way to convince the fearsome bosses that oppose you to rally to your cause…

  • Develop relationships: Despite being cast from Paradise, you are certainly not alone – for better or for worse. Meet the other denizens of the afterlife, and learn more of their stories. Whether they wish to help you, hinder you, or both, you’ll discover more about them as you continue your escape attempts.

The journey will be difficult. The walls of Torment were not built to be breached. It’ll take all of your wits and a healthy dose of adaptability to be able to survive. And yet… there is hope. The Rogumon desire their freedom as much as you do, and they will join you if you call. Even the powerful foes who most fervently oppose you might be swayed, given enough time. Though you inevitably will fail, you’ll find the means to strengthen your team.

  • Several RNG-related inconsistencies across saving/loading have been addressed. If you quit in the middle of a battle, that battle should _always_ have the same enemies when you return\n

  • Shop and item menus no longer filter by entry type, but instead use these buttons as \"jump to\". (So, if you want to see the Rogumon you can get in the upgrade shop, for example, instead of turning off all non-Rogumon filters, now you can just click the Rogumon button and you\'ll jump there)\n
  • Shop and item menus will now be sorted! Items will be grouped by equipment vs. consumable and have a few other subgroupings (all bells will be together, as will scrolls). Beyond these distinctions, items will be sorted alphabetically, except for bells, which will be sorted in effectiveness order\n
  • The non-battle team menu will now indicate that you can change the order of your party\n
  • The current zone text now no longer looks like a button\n

  • The effect Rooted will now wear off when its instigator leaves the field. (No more Verav ambushes ruining runs!)\n

Thanks so much for supporting Rogumon in its Early Access debut! I\'ve got some more changes I\'m working on, but in the meanwhile, here are some bug fixes and a few balance changes.\n

  • Fixes a UI bug that could lock up the game on the character select screen.\n
  • Fixes a UI bug that could allow certain \"decision\" menus (i.e. learning a new move) to overlap with summary menus\n
  • Fixes several UI issues on gamepad/Steam Deck that could prevent input from being registered appropriately\n
  • Moves the Quit Game button to the bottom of the pause menu\n
  • Prevents releasing the team\'s Willful One when obtaining a seventh Rogumon\n
  • Update erroneous text on \"Storm Barrage\" (it now correctly states that the move hits 3 times)\n

  • For gamepad/steamdeck, the default selected move will no longer be reset each turn\n

Rogumon is now out in early access! Experience the complete journey of gathering a team of Rogumon as you face the ever-shifting dangers of Torment.

What\'s Different Compared to the Demo?

  • Each run is composed of three zones, each culminating with a boss, as opposed to one. Each zone is also slightly shorter than the demo\'s

    Demo Out Now

    The free demo for Rogumon is out now! If you feel like giving it a try, and especially leaving feedback, it'd go a long way toward helping me improve the game. It's pretty challenging, so expect to take multiple attempts to succeed.

    For those who have played already, the latest update adds achievements (in addition to a bunch of bug fixes and QoL improvements). There are 5 to unlock, so give it your best shot!

    I'm hard at work improving the game, so expect more bug fixes and improvements soon. Please let me know what you'd like improved in the Discord or in a review.
