One of the biggest challenges was quite literala storm caused electrical instability, frying one of our systems. While replacing the motherboard was straightforward, selecting a new GPU was a tough call in todays market. After much deliberation (and a fair share of frustration), we gathered everything needed to get back on track. Fortunately, this hardware issue only affected the design side of development. As mentioned in our earlier monthly update, weve been hard at work improving the Demo (Chapter 1), which now almost fully encompasses the first chapter of Scarlett Steele: Viral Temptation. The new Demo is now available for download on our official Steam page. But dont be fooledthis Demo is just a small taste of whats to come in the final product! Heres whats new in this updated Demo: New Renders Weve added a brand new set of renders to enhance immersion and provide a smoother experience. For us at VenusVision, August was a month of renewal and progress. We set out to enhance our work, and were excited to share all the updates, news, and announcements with you. The next few months are going to be challenging, but we cant wait to take them on! Quick Recap Last month, we made significant strides in enhancing the renders for Chapter 1, adding several new ones in the process. Weve also transitioned all renders to the .webp format, which, as expected, cut the demos file size in half. Improvements In addition to the renders, we also improved the English script. We saw room for improvement and took action. New dialogue lines have been added, and we addressed several issues that slipped through our initial proofreading. The result is a much more polished experience. New Languages While refining the English script, we decided to expand Scarlett Steele: Viral Temptation with additional language support. Hey everyone, We hope you're all having a fantastic summer, surrounded by friends, family, and good vibes. We're excited to bring you another thrilling update on Scarlett Steele: Viral Temptation, packed with surprises and mysteries we can't wait to share! First and foremost, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who provided feedback over the past month. Your insights are invaluable and drive us to keep improving and delivering content that resonates with our fans. With that in mind, we have three major announcements: 1. Enhanced Renders in Chapter 1 We're adding more renders to the first chapter. Given the progress we've made on Chapter 2, it only makes sense to elevate Chapter 1 to the same level of detail and passion. These new renders wont alter the narrative but will ensure a smoother and more immersive experience. 2. Format Upgrade to .webp In response to your feedback, we're transitioning from .png to .webp format for our renders. This change will enhance performance, reduce file sizes, and increase accessibility, all while maintaining compatibility with our engine. 3. Steam Demo Now Supports macOS We've updated our Steam Demo to include full macOS support, so our Mac users can now download and enjoy the experience. Once again, thank you to everyone who shared their feedback and opinions. Your input is always highly valued and appreciated. Character Introductions: Nbia & Fabio In July, we introduced Iris and shared insights into her story and her significant role in Chapter 2. This August, we're excited to introduce two more characters: Nbia, whom many of you will recognize from the Demo, and Fabio, a key figure in Scarlett's journey. Were also thrilled to announce that Nbia, Fabio, and Iris will all be potential love interests for Scarlett. Meet Nbia
Nbia grew up amidst the turmoil of a war-torn region in West Africa, where survival and resilience were daily realities. Despite the chaos, she exhibited remarkable intelligence and curiosity. She joined the military at a young age, driven by a desire to protect those she loved. Nbia's academic and military achievements caught the attention of private institutions, leading her to play a pivotal role in the events of the present day. Meet Fabio
Fabio is a passionate reporter dedicated to uncovering the truth. His love for nature and the environment often guides his journalistic pursuits, leading him to stories that highlight both human and natural struggles. Fabios journey as a truth-seeker brought him closer to Nbia. United by shared experiences in conflict zones and a common goal of justice, theyve become close allies. Nbia, aware of an imminent biohazard disaster, confides in Fabio, hoping his report could spark change. However, Fabio never made it out of the facility and remains captured. You'll soon have the chance to unravel these mysteries yourself in Chapter 2, which will feature three unique sexual encounters, each shaped by your choices. Firstly, we're adding new characters to shift the narrative focus towards dynamic dialogues, moving away from extensive narration. This change is particularly thrilling. Secondly, we're incorporating our first wave of sexual content, which will allow us to explore blending text and images in innovative ways we haven't tried before. While our writing process will remain consistent, were eager to continue experimenting to create content that resonates with everyone. While we've already received positive feedback on our render quality, we're committed to continuous improvement. You can anticipate significantly improved quality as our 3D developer has acquired new tools and plans to implement advanced techniques to enhance the player experience. We've also addressed the issues with the number of renders in Chapter 1, ensuring smoother production moving forward. Introducing Iris Iris is a docile and pretty scientist with a passion for the internet. Shes nerdy yet charming and enjoys walking her dog on the beach. A gentle soul who cannot stand unfairness, Iris is deeply troubled by the corruption she sees within the organization. During her internship, she was dedicated and developed a great admiration for Nbia, becoming the only person Nbia can truly show affection to.
You can expect to be able to tweak Iris's final looks in the upcoming polls. ((Join our Discord for more information.)) A Glimpse into Chapter 2 [spoiler] Chapter 2 kicks off with a dramatic scene featuring Iris and an old doctor. Iris witnesses firsthand how the organization is misusing their power for their own gain. She realizes that things are not as they seem, and she begins to see through the organization's facade. The shady dealings she uncovers set the tone for the rest of the chapter. Iris, partially hidden, observes the organization's corrupt activities with the old doctor. As she processes the shocking truth, she starts questioning everything she once believed in. The scene then shifts to Scarlett, who is in the shower in Nbia's room. Players will be initially confused about why Scarlett is there, but it soon becomes clear. Scarlett knows Nbia is harmless and needs the gear. The two engage in a silent yet intense battle of wits and words. Nbia eventually reveals the true nature of the chemical weapon, intensifying the conflict between them. Nbia admits she can't destroy the weapon alone and needs Scarlett's help. She reveals another key player, Fabio, a reporter who knows the truth. Scarlett is torn between trusting Nbia or the agency. Players must decide: trust Nbia and continue the game, or refuse and face dire consequences.
