Hi folks,
I've released another update for the game and this is pretty big. Here's what changed:
Added support for Linux
Rewrote the whole path finding to make it more performant and easier to understand. No more lag-spikes when attacking or moving around
Update to Unity version 6
Fixed an issue where you couldn't swap weapons during the final encounter
Fixed an issue where you could swap weapons around freely even though you already used them. (this was not intentional)
Fixed an issue where you could move at double speed in the hospital mini-game
Fixed several typos and other text issues
Mirrored fist icon in inventory to fit with combat screen
A ton of additional other small fixes you'll probably won't even notice
Cheers,
Tim
Hi everyone,
with great pleasure I announce that my newest game "Cantaloupe Chronicle" is now available on Steam for Windows and Linux.
In Cantaloupe Chronicle, you step into the shoes of a budding journalist on your first day as an intern at the towns quirky newspaper, The Cantaloupe Chronicle. Set in a cozy roadside town filled with intrigue, this game invites you to explore a rich, atmospheric environment. Interact with eccentric locals, solve puzzles, and uncover stories that will shape your career as a reporter.
The story centers on an old mystery, but the theme explores how not every story ends cleanly and how we learn to live without closure.
What begins as a simple learning experience quickly turns into a quest to uncover the secrets of the town's pastincluding the mysterious case of a body found years ago.
As you collect items, talk to the townsfolk, and solve engaging puzzles, youll craft articles using an innovative text editor system. Writing doesnt feel daunting hereyou can unlock text blocks from your investigations and insert them into articles with ease. From small-town gossip to the big front-page story, every article brings them closer to the ultimate truth.
Cheers,
Tim

Hello everyone, I've just released a new update for the game with some nice QoL features:
Hello everyone, I'm happy to tell you that the game is now "playable" on the Steam Deck. You should encounter no problems while playing through the game. (Note: the game is not completely optimized for controller play and the best experience is still to play with mouse and keyboard.) Other changes: -Added notification animation on closed upper menu to make new notifications more visible -Small improvements in combat controls and edge-casses -Minor bug-fixes Cheers, Tim
Normally I wouldn't ask for reviews, but the game sits so close to getting its store page rating. This rating is extremely important for any player that visits the page and the Steam algorithm. So if you've played the game and haven't left a review yet, that would mean a lot to me. (positive and negative) Thank you for your support, Tim

It Returned to the Desert is a unique mix of turn-based tactical combat and story-driven adventure game.
Welcome to the lively desert town of Glint Rock! As Dr. Mill - Geologist - It's your job to find out what happened with the recent meteor crash and convince the towns folk of the imminent danger of mutated giant ants. Recruit a party to fight those six-legged freaks before they overrun town.
Prepare for combat with a variety of arms and consumables. Use your time well and collect evidence to convince the local authorities. This is not a fight that you can win alone! Gather a party of supporters and take good care of them, as death is permanent and has far-reaching consequences.
The game features a charming retro pixel art style and an atmospheric soundtrack, free saving and multiple difficulties.
Even though the game looks like it's straight from the 90s, it boasts modern game design principles and no dead ends or overly high difficulty.
It Returned to the Desert is developed solely by one Indie Developer... me... Tim Rachor. Though, I'm using some licensed third party assets. This will be my 9th game on Steam and the biggest yet, I'm very excited and hope you'll enjoy the result as much as I enjoyed the development!
