I pushed a couple of fixes, but I could not help myself and added a stupid Christmas hat you can only buy between December 25 and 31, granting you a plus ten sex bonus when you wear it.

A small update :

- The TV host can broadcast a show of their choice

- You can leave phone messages to other players

- Bug fixes (softlock of \"...\", glitch sound slider, cliff suicide scene, quit button)

A location has been added with a billboard at the entrance of the industrial area, as the map had a logic flaw preventing bots from reaching the Anazom vending machine in the industrial zone. Update the Steam client to avoid a scene bug (white noise display).

Im pleased to finally announce the official expansion of the base game Blktre 2081!

The new features have been live for some time for testing, and its time to make it official.

Those who have already played will immediately notice the major overhaul of the graphics, UI, optimization, debugging, and balancing the bare minimum.

But lets talk about what really matters: the real new content.

When a player reaches the top, they finally become President. This role grants the power to change certain rules of the entire game! For example, you can decide whether undocumented players (demo players) are free to move around. Otherwise, these characters can be arrested by cop players once their residence permits expire. In short: this player decides whether the game is entirely free or not!

They can also choose, for instance, to tax men instead of women or non-binary people and similar kinds of adjustments...

Industrial Products

You can now open your own production factory in the citys underbelly and create your own product to sell in the citys vending machines.

But the most interesting part? You can make other players addicted to your product by paying for in-game city ads!

Theyll have no choice but to rush to the nearest vending machine to get their precious Meowghurt or face a penalty. A perfect way to seriously boost your sales!

The Rumbletron and Methane Gas

To expand your apartments or factories, you now need to use the Rumbletron.

This machine, shared among all players, runs on methane gas the same gas emitted by characters as they digest their sausages. You can collect it with the dedicated backpack. Since theres only one machine and one shared methane supply for the entire city, everyone will have to cooperate on this one!

The future: new ways to play Blktre 2081?

Blktre 2081 had the chance to be showcased at the Stunfest festival, held from February 2426 in Rennes, France (the games hometown). It was a wonderful opportunity to let people try this new version and it came with an incredible amount of love for this UFO of a game or rather, this experience, praised for its originality and integrity.

I now have leads to develop a standalone solo version of the game, for those whod like to enjoy the adventure in a more chill way with bots, without getting too harshly smoked by their fellow players.

Even more exciting and likely to come first is the possibility of offering private servers within a few months, especially with streamers in mind whod like to host events with their communities, as well as anyone whod like to play with friends, possibly with modded rules.

For now, Im focusing on maintaining this fresh, expanded version already well-tested, stable, and functional, but still worth fine-tuning here and there given its scope.

The Blktre 2081 expansion is progressing at its own pace, but for now, here is the most refined version yet of the Blktre 2081 base - already significantly expanded.

I\'d like to spend the next 15 days testing the foundations of this new version: revamped graphics, UI, storytelling, balancing, mechanics, optimization, and even some early new features A whole new game, in a way?

But before officially announcing this expansion, Ill let you enjoy this more refined version of Blktre 2081.

Oh, and it seems the current president of Blktreville is allowing unlimited play with a demo account.

Sorry for the slightly clickbait title: first of all, I want to say that development is still very much active, and a major update is on the way!

\nBlktre 2081 was first created as a conceptual experiment. Since it was also a video game, publishing it on Steam felt natural. It allowed me to discover what the video game market is really like. After six months of operation, and a rather normal lack of mass appeal, I considered smoothing out Blktre to make it more compatible with market expectations.

But after working in that direction, I realized it was stripping away the games original idea: offering a radical, sad, and mocking experience that tells the story of an unjust society. I still believe this is an interesting and even fun idea but clearly not for everyone. And if I were to twist Blktres concept to appeal to the widest audience, I think it would end up pleasing no one starting with me.

So I decided to drop any commercial ambitions for Blktre and make the game free via the demo version (web and Steam). This free version will now have no restrictions, including the save disks that were previously disabled in this mode: you will now be able to resurrect like everyone else.

Oh, but of course theres a twist! To truly simulate real life, you have to know that while all citizens are equal, some are more equal than others A new major privilege is now granted to the player who reaches the very top of the pyramid the position of mayor of the city: they will now be able to set the law and decide, among other things, whether refugees playing on a free account can be pursued by player-police officers. With some skill, those refugees can still evade them and climb the ranks to ultimately change the law in their favor

Freeing Blktre from commercial ambitions allows me to imagine more radical, more unfair ideas but also ones that are more consistent with the nature of the game. Im convinced this wont stop it from being fun and balanced quite the opposite. Opposition always finds a way!

This update is planned for Fall 2025. I hope to see you among the testers of this experience, which I now consider more refined than ever. The next version will bring many changes, and I will get back to you with the full details of this true expansion.\n\nIn the meantime, I hope real life isnt that harsh for you even if youre prepared with such a high-quality simulator.

A small update before the big one:

* Advertising boards that let you write whatever you want but more importantly, they can redirect Blktrians to your business so they consume en masse at your place, not someone else's

* A personal probe is now available at Hackman's to analyze your peers in detail...

This minor update lays the groundwork for a major one currently in development: the startup industrial zone.

In the startup industrial zone, you'll be able to build a business safe from hostile takeovers. The zone may be far from the center, but all you need to do is advertise to attract customers! This update will benefit newcomers, allowing them to grow and thrive without fearing the sharks. Also, alternative ways to obtain Illuminati tokens are gradually appearing.

The world burns better with full pockets!

I invited a UX designer friend over for coffee, and when he saw my game, he spat his drink all over the screen: it was a total mess. He couldnt instinctively figure out how to play or get through the tutorial. Then he grabbed a stick and started hitting me while explaining what needed to be fixed. Leaving me bloodied and whining on the floor, he told me Id better rework everything before he came back.

So, I got to work and followed the instructions he had mercifully left me. And I have to say, his feedback was spot-on! I ended up redoing almost everythingfrom the navigation arrows to the menus, the journal and chat. These features had been haphazardly added throughout development, and theyve now been reorganized into something much more coherent.

When my UX designer friend came back, I was proud of the resultclearer, more compact, smoother. He was satisfied and said: its playable now without making your eyes bleed, congratulations. I narrowly avoided another beating.

For the Steam update, I still wanted to add a little gameplay feature, so I included the ability to defecate on the floor, just in case you cant afford a toilet. After all, a realistic simulation should consider even the roughest scenarios.

I also told the player Melon Fusk (himself a simulation of a mean human being) to chill out because he was playing too much and it was going to harm his healthnot to mention he was getting a bit too nasty with the other players.

A few more bug fixes round things out.

While this update mainly brings quality-of-life improvements, I can already tell you Im working on content and gameplay refinement updates that I cant wait to show you and that could significantly impact the overall experience.
