Welcome to 2025! (Well, depending on timezone) I had serious hopes that I was going to be able to unveil the new game's steam page to you during the sale but unfortunately it is still in review (well, it IS the holidays after all) so for now I can only tease you with this:
If you haven't heard of this before, this is a new game in the same universe as Long Live The Queen, the protagonist is the daughter of the recently-vanished Evil Emperor, and yes there will be skills to learn and deaths to avoid and politics to unravel. The Steam page SHOULD be available in the next couple of weeks with more information and screenshots. Watch this space (well, watch this game) for updates! Happy Christmas to all who celebrate! This year has come with many highs and lows. For this game specifically, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary, put out a bunch of exciting bonus art, released the console version, and talked about the sequel in development... and Queen Elizabeth died, making the theme song now officially "God Save The King." We've put out a small update addressing some compatibility issues related to recent Steam DLL changes. This should only affect Linux, Mac, and Steam Deck users. Windows users build numbers will not update. (Art by acchanBD) This month is not just the Platinum Jubilee, it also marks ten years since the first full release of Long Live The Queen (on the Hanako Games website - it didn't come to Steam until later). What a journey it's been! So many princesses murdered! To celebrate, this week (Jun 13-20) we've set up our largest ever weekly Steam discount on LLTQ, so if any of your friends don't have the game yet, this is the best time to give them delicious gifts of chocolate. We've also commissioned a few pieces of bonus artwork, like the above, which should be dropping during the month. So, what is coming in the future for LLTQ? First, as some of you already know, a while back it was announced that Ratalaika Games would be porting the game to consoles. While I do not have a final release date yet, I currently expect that to happen sometime this year. Stay tuned (here, or on my twitter, or on their twitter) for more news as soon as it's available! Second, yes, we are working on another game in the series. I can't show you pictures because right now everything is in a text-only phase, getting set up with dozens of skills, characters, quests, and events where unexpected talents might mean the difference between victory and defeat. (Using Wrestling to suplex a giant lizard? Using Contortion to hide inside a filing cabinet? Sure, why not!) The working title for now is Long Live The Queen: Galaxy Princess Zorana. You are the pampered daughter of a mighty emperor (think Flash Gordon and Ming the Merciless) who unexpectedly comes to power when your father dies in a freak accident. Now you must work to win over your father's underlings and be proclaimed absolute ruler before someone else can take your Empire away from you. Everything is still so early, it's hard to say much, but a few general plans: * There will be some tie-ins to the first game, and you will probably get to mention how your Elodie turned out, but Elodie will not actually appear, as we're well into the future. * You can still have a pet falcon! (But this time it will be made of metal.) * It will be much easier to marry a female character and have heirs with her if you want. It's the future, we have the technology. * It is likely that there will be a Kickstarter campaign eventually, but I need to do a LOT of internal development and testing first to ensure that this game design works before making it pretty enough to show anything public, so don't expect that this year. The game and story I have in mind is exciting but complicated and I want to be sure I'm bringing you the best. Right now everything is subject to change! I'll bring you more news as soon as it's possible, but there's only one of me writing all these convoluted plotlines, so it does take a while. txhappy

We've released another patch, mostly a range of small fixes including some that may help people playing translated versions and people who were having framerate problems recording videos. There are also 6 new achievements to find, which will remove some people's 100% status but hopefully only temporarily. If you want full spoiler-heavy details of everything that's been added, visit the discussion forums and read through the (long) beta thread. Otherwise, dive in and see what you can find! And remember - the chicken had it coming.

We've pushed out a small update which adds some new features and fixes a handful of typos. This is not a content update, no new plot has been added. More details: Skills screen clearly lists what skills are affected by current mood Skip button appears on dialogue you've seen before (hide/show button toggled in preferences) Failed study attempts (when your penalties meant you gained less than ten points and therefore got no skilltext) should now display a message explaining that you were too moody to learn properly Version number visible on preferences screen 'Save Story' at an ending renamed to 'Show Log' Please let us know if you run into any problems.
