Welcome to Rage of Mechs
Rage of Mechs is a turn-based strategy game inspired by classics like XCOM, Jagged Alliance, Fallout, Heroes of Might and Magic III, and BattleTech.
Early Access
The game is currently in early alpha. A lot of core systems are already in place, but we’re just getting started. We have big plans ahead and a clear development roadmap to guide them.

Team Assembly
There are no hard limits on the number of units in your squad—only weight. Each weapon and module adds to the total weight of your Mech, and the combined weight of all your Mechs determines your team’s limit. Balancing firepower, utility, and mobility is up to you.

Build Your Mech
Every Mech is fully modular and uniquely customizable. Inspired by the way firearms are assembled in real life — with attachments like grips, silencers, and optics — we’ve built a system that lets you swap out weapons, engines, armor, cooling systems, camouflage units, radar arrays, and more. Each choice affects performance on the battlefield.

Pilots
Each Mech is piloted by a Paladin — a warrior bonded to their machine. While pilot abilities, factions, and mood systems are still under development, our goal is to introduce specialized skills, interpersonal relationships, and faction-based buffs and debuffs. Paladins will be more than stats — they’ll be characters.

Multiplayer, Turn-Based Combat
We’re passionate about turn-based gameplay and wanted to bring it into a competitive, multiplayer setting. Rage of Mechs blends tactical depth with head-to-head battles, where every decision counts.

Environments and Tactical Terrain
We’ve implemented dynamic maps with day/night cycles and varying terrain types. At night, visibility is reduced — just like in real life — making ambushes and stealth tactics more viable. Forests slow your movement but improve camouflage. Water cools your Mech but can be dangerous to cross. Terrain isn’t just decoration; it’s part of your strategy.

Patch Notes 0.4.1: A Massive Update with Exciting New Features!
We are thrilled to announce the release of Patch 0.4.1, bringing an array of major improvements, new mechanics, and enhanced visuals to elevate your gameplay experience. Lets break it down from the biggest changes to the finer details:
Dynamic Heat Mechanics
- Heat Generation: Using equipment such as weapons or utility modules will now generate heat.
- Cooling Mechanisms: Manage heat levels with passive cooling (natural cooldown over time) or equip active cooling modules for immediate heat reduction.
- Overheat Consequences: If a mech overheats, it becomes temporarily disabled, unable to move, shoot, or interact.
- Cooling Strategies:
[list] - Leave your mech idle for a turn to let it naturally cool down.
- Install active cooling modules in the universal mount slot for faster cooldown during crucial moments.

This new system adds depth to tactical gameplay, encouraging strategic planning and resource management during intense battles.
Repair Functionality on the Battlefield
- No More Stranded Mechs: The new Repair Drone brings mechs back into action by fixing destroyed or heavily damaged modules.
- Repair Capability: The drone can restore your mechs functionality, enabling tactical movement even after heavy damage.
- Installation: The Repair Drone occupies a universal mount slot, making it a versatile addition to your loadout.

This feature ensures that even in the heat of battle, your mechs can recover and rejoin the fight, adding new layers of strategy.
Core Turn-Based Strategy Mechanic
- How It Works: If your mech encounters an enemy while executing a move command, its movement will immediately halt.
- Player Choice: Youll then have the freedom to decide the next actionwhether to attack, reposition, or retreat.

This mechanic adds a dynamic element to battles, requiring adaptability and quick decision-making.
Enhanced Aesthetics and Immersion
- New Cell Visuals: Improved clarity and aesthetics for better tactical planning.
- Model Upgrades: Refined graphical details for mechs and equipment.
- Map Enhancements: Subtle visual updates to maps for a richer gameplay experience.
- Overall Polish: Minor tweaks and adjustments to make the game more visually appealing and immersive.

Performance Boosts and Stability
- Client Optimizations: Expect smoother performance and improved frame rates during gameplay.
- Network Enhancements: Optimized server-client communication for a more stable and seamless multiplayer experience.

These technical improvements ensure the game runs efficiently, even during intense battles.
