~Massive Fiesta Sale!!~

Hello everyone! Dyztopia is now available at a historically low price of $2.49! Why? Well... 1) it's Fiesta baby 2) Dyztopia 1 has been getting a lot of love thanks to patches and hotfixes. 3) I'm raising more money for Dyztopia 2. The first counter question is "why not use a website that is used specifically for fundraising?" And the answer to that is those websites also require solid trailers and poster art to be successful and Dyz 2 just isn't there yet. You may have also noticed that a new and unobtainable achievement has appeared. In the next Hot Fix, all romance achievements will be consolidated into one achievement and the current romance achievements will be deleted. Fear not as simplying loading a save file with an ongoing romance will retroactively award you the new achievement (when the hot fix is ready.) The reason for this is because the current achievements add way too many additional playthroughs to be reasonable. I said before that I consider the Dyztopia Platinum to be the true 100% but even that will take at least 2-3 playthroughs. This way you will be able to add Dyztopia somewhat reasonably to your 100% completion page. And that's all I have for now! I hope you enjoy Dyztopia or buy it for a friend! Cloud Saves Go!

Hello! Dyztopia now has cloud saves! As long as you installed after Dyztopia Deviations (2 years ago) you should have cloud saves working. If your save files are missing, go to your Steam folder and pull them from the old Install Folder. (Old: Dyztopia: Post-Human RPG | New: DyztopiaDV) and put them in the new install folder (Steam\steamapps\common\DyztopiaDV\DyztopiaDV\www\save) I will repost these instructions in a short guide I'm making. By the way, you will need to know where your save file is for save imports for Dyztopia 2!

Hotfix #5: Growth

-Game has been scaled up to 1366x768 -All moves have been rebalanced to no longer be OFFENSE - DEFENCE. Now moves scale much much better. Dev Note: In a recent playthrough, I noticed that moves hit their caps much too easily. Wave Slash is one of the biggest offenders offering free wins in Stage 1, With the new rebalance moves will scale much more appropriately. This also applies to the enemy using moves, as they no longer feel like killing you in 1 or 2 hits. Also, chars like Crow feel better to use as it'll actually make it back to their turn in non-Boss fights! I have seen the complaints about Normal feeling like the enemies die too fast and I've tried to address it with the old formula but it just never worked out. I have played with the new scaling and I think it is much better personally but I am eager to hear what you think. -New Menu command UI -New "battle log" -New Zazz face and theme -New Sync Animation -New battlebacks for Stages 1, 4, and 7 -Clyde, Robun, and Artica all got new passives -A!Vira and A!Kaus Australis fights added -New gun moves O.S.O.K. and Vulcan have been added for gun bosses -Shields got reworked: Now to match Leaf Shield; Fire, Lightning, Earth and Bubble shield all have "weaknesses" that remove them *Water removes Fire Shield. Thunder ignores Water Shield. Wood cancels out Thunder Shield. Magical Slash Moves remove Earth Shield. Physical Slash Moves remove Blade Barrier. -New sprites for Chapter 1 Zazz cutscenes -Exca fight on Hard now starts with an additional "Point" -Exca's Glitch move now Silences and Blinds specifically Crow, Lunez, and Kiyota. This is really mean of him. -the Mouse hanging on selected enemies is fixed -Detritus 7 has voice lines (voiced by Bass) -One New Game+ Akari short scene added in Chapter 1

Hotfix #4

Hello again! I am pretty happy with the state of Truth and Madness, and here are a list of fixes I've been working on. I also want to thank the community tab, content creators, and the Dyztopia discord for pointing out bugs and typos and contributing to the game's health. Some of these fixes have been live before this announcement but I wanted to document the changes.

  • Fix Stage 4 and Stage 6 having event locks.
  • Fixed the Mini-Vendors sometimes disabling all dialogue.
  • Kunai Strike change: Its Flash condition now activates at 0 MP. To prevent infinites, it has a +2 Cooldown when Exhausted.
  • Credits cleaned up.
  • Summons and Clones no longer benefit from level up bonuses
  • New level formulas: HP on enemies got raised by about 7 per level, and flat stat bonuses properly implemented (This is like 1 point of stat per 10 levels.)
  • Super Bosses now have about +15 extra stats per difficulty.
  • Agility now gets level bonuses. Before it was just a flat stat, but now it increases by a % of their level.
  • Late game mobs that had two actions now only have two actions if they are the last one standing (This is to prevent a group of four mobs from going sicko mode)
  • Akira, Runi, Fredek all had their HP buffed
  • Fredek INT buffed
  • Poison Wave now down to 3MP.
  • In Kael's ending, he now uses the updated dialogue (and dialogue skips)
  • Final Zazz, Arch-Demon Capricorn, and the Stage 9 demons all got buffed. All hail Arch-Traffic
  • Retrogrades mostly nerfed. Retrogrades that introduce a mechanic (Like Libra and Scorpio) have greatly reduced HP compared to those that don't
  • Madness Mode Boss Transitions now look and sound smoother
  • Reworked some Battle Lab encounters
  • Stage 4 Boss in Madness made significantly harder.

Dyztopia: Truth and Madness

Hello, I am back with a deceptively large update. I want to highlight some of the changes coming in this update. -New Stage Title Cards There are some cool new graphics whenever you start a stage. This is for Stages 1-10 and a few post-game areas. -Mini-Vendors New vendors have popped up in almost every town. They sell unique consumable items. The vending machine in Zeta has been changed to a Mini-Vendor to reflect this. Some of them sell powerful items at a limited stock. -Stop Gap has been reworked into Avalanche The Defence skill, Stop Gap was not very powerful, often relying on the opponent to be hyped to do decent damage. Avalanche is mostly the same with a few exceptions. It hits 1-4 times and only hits all enemies at full Hype instead of any amount of hype. Also Evoke has been removed from it, but in its place, upgrading Defence will reduce the mana cost up to -3. This is to be consistent with the other skills, which have three parameters being changed upon upgrade. Overall the skill is much stronger and if you're lucky can even clear mobs as fast or faster than Wave Slash. -Level Up Skill bug fixed + Reworks + Ploys The Level Up skill system had a bug since launch that wouldn't allow more than a line of text when viewing skills. This made some skills laughably esoteric (Looking at you Double Trouble.) The bug has been fixed, and the descriptions are much more... descriptive. In addition, many level-up skills have been given a second look and some have been flat-out replaced. New skills such as Fire Pledge, Attack Hex, and Frost Ploy can now be learned. This segways into a change I made regarding Hexes and Ploys. They now affect all enemies (that aren't immune to those statuses. Sorry no Auto-Freezing bosses). The trade-off is that Poison Ploy only lasts 2 turns (A normal poison lasts 4) and Frost Ploy lasts only 1 turn (a normal freeze lasts 2.) There are a couple of surprises here so I recommend checking them out! -Cutscene Clean Up A few cutscenes have new sprites and animations that weren't there before. Upon rewatching some of them I felt that they were unclear or awkward, and for others, I wanted to land an emotional moment. Lunez now has an animation upon recruiting him (To mirror Edgar and Chase) but that's the only one I'll mention directly. -Sho Studios and Vo(u)lward The Sho Studios map has been updated to look a bit neater. You can also now go to the bottom floor, which was always intended but it was something I never got around to. Oops. Also to get to the bottom floor you need a card key... whatever that means. Volward had some visual updates to its map. Volward looks pretty similar between the 3-4 screens it occupies. It caused some people to get lost pretty easily. It was never for long but it was enough for me to make an effort to update its visuals. -Madness Mode (Partially implemented) A difficulty higher than Hard has appeared (or has it?) It remains locked behind normal gameplay but with the help of a certain computer in the post-game [spoiler]or defeating Aquarius[/spoiler], you can unlock Madness as a choice for difficulty. Currently, it only goes up to Chapter 1. Are you up for the challenge? -Back to four Party members. You'll need them. -Allies do not have body armor. Enemies always have body armor. -If an enemy is Hyped, they will have two actions. (This only works on enemies with 1 action.) -+100 to Attack, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck -New Boss moves for the Four bosses that appear in the Prologue and Chapter 1. When I first made Dyztopia, it didn't have a difficulty selection but I always suggested NOT taking Body Armor (which was optional at the time) as the unofficial Hard Mode. That was a very long time ago and the game was balanced with the players having Body Armor at all times, so taking that away really mixes things up. . There might be plans to revisit Madness to make it a proper difficulty, but that would require much testing and take time away from the sequel.

Changelog


-Gave Lunez additional dialogue in Volward. He now changes what he says depending on your progress (This is to match the rest of the crew). -Power Charge and Mind Charge have been given new animations. As well as a new idle animation to show a unit is charged. -A new Hard Mode exclusive skill for [spoiler]Final Zazz[/spoiler] called Master Plan. Gives both Power and Mind Charge. -Arch-Demon Aries no longer has the Heat Wave passive on Hard Mode. (Heat Wave usually seen in Weapon Mods, deals an extra instance of damage on all attacks.) and has also gained a Poison Weakness. [spoiler]Arch-Demon Aries keeps Heat Wave in Madness[/spoiler] -TWT: Changed a lot of Akira's dialogue. Mostly other characters speak for Akira or Akira doesn't have an answer. -[spoiler]TWT: Artica no longer survives. The whole healing sequence is skipped and she's absent from the bar and the train station. Somehow this route claimed another victim. [/spoiler] -TWT: Sagitarrius now starts the battle with ATTACK UP, DEFENCE UP, DEXTERITY UP, and POWER CHARGE. This is the benefit of absorbing an extra soul. To reiterate this is only in TWT. -Sweet Saturn has been reenabled in Stage 8 with a new sprite. In addition, a new enemy has been added: Coral Moosh. -The Bonelord has a new sprite. -Jasper has new face sprites. -All Ailments no longer heal the afflicted. For example, if a unit had Absorb Fire and Burning, the damage over time from the burn would heal. -In the second Twelve fight, her second form has been given a new theme and has been buffed. -Arch-Demon Sagitarrius is now weak to water. -Arch-Demon Scorpio has increased HP. -New accessories for Akira, [spoiler]Virgo[/spoiler], and [spoiler]Kael[/spoiler]. Scarves that give bonus stats are only equippable to Smogs, Arcdras, and Vulcoros respectively. -New accessories for Genesis and Fred are only found in Sho Studios provided you have a key card. -In the Arch-Demon Taurus fight, if you don't kill Jasper you get a reward. If you don't even touch Jasper, you get a technically better reward. -Hammer Quake now hits 1-4 times. Ouch. -[spoiler]Rogue gets another sync upon recruiting. Making them very easy to max out.[/spoiler]

Bug Fixes


-Fixed the sand clock acting weird if you leave 5-1 while it's still going -10-2 there was an impassible tile that shouldn't have been -9-1 could soft-lock you if you killed an enemy and left the room too early. -Window Skins are now properly loaded when you load a save file. There was a bug that would incorrectly load the system colors causing health bars and text to be unreadable in Hard and Easy mode. -Sand Tomb now properly loops in Hard Mode. This is *technically* a buff to Scorpio. -Holding down the push button no longer registers the button press after the animation. This would lead to players (and me) selecting the attack command immediately after using a push skill.

Closing Statement


I hope people enjoy this update. I've been watching playthroughs of Dyztopia on YouTube and Twitch and when I watch it there's always a voice in the back of my mind that's like "I can make this part better/look nicer." That mentality does take away dev time from Dyztopia 2, but I am trying to work on both simultaneously. Speaking of, unless there's a good amount of feedback, I think Madness will stay unfinished. As I mentioned before it's more of a challenge mode than a full difficulty, and I don't have time to test it fully. I just think it's a neat challenge. Until next time! Take care!

Hotfix #3.6


New Features


  • New sprite animations during the prologue bar scene.
  • New sprite animations when recruiting Chase or Edgar
  • Items now have different colored icons if they have an "element"
  • Added new Veggie items to balance the food element metagame.
  • New screen transition cards when completing and starting a chapter.

Balance Changes


  • Exhaust skills now exhaust you after the skill is done effectively taking a turn off of the Exhaustion. (This affects every Exhaust Skill except for Shadow Drop as that can be upgraded to remove the Exhaust anyway.)
  • Swallow Slash no longer has a cap on damage
  • Embue doesn't have restricted uses. Now attacks twice.
  • Eclipse added damage

Bug Fixes


  • Blood Berry and Rosethorn now properly kills opponents(Previously there would be a flag to keep them alive during the animation that wasn't being removed.)
  • Sandclock now properly disables if you move screens before the timer runs out.
  • If Kiyota was exactly Link 1 during her 3 Link event, change dialogue to better match that

Hotfix# 3.5

New Feature


Gotcha has learned about other Gatchas and added a 10x roll for Shards and Mods.


  • Omnistat Mod can only be rolled in the 10x roll. A new Mod, Fortress, takes its original place.
  • Some rare shards can only be rolled in the 10x roll such as Binary Holy and Soul Flame.
  • Five tickets can be redeemed for a 10x roll. This is a deal.

Bug Fixes


  • Fixed Akira's Mailbox
  • Detritus Slash now gives the achievement upon completion
  • Bosses now die when they have -HP effects on them like Overgrowth and Spite
  • Fixed a handful of descriptions in the Skill Manual
  • Remove unnecessary recipes in Poakun's item list so players can achieve 100% completion rate
  • Upgraded Caduceus now uses the right variable (Previously was reading Inellviate 's level instead of its own.)
  • Eliza's new Rapid Shot upgrade bugs fixed. Now does appropriate damage and the spread doesn't "spread" into other skills and enemies will properly collapse. The spread also hits Barrier first before HP.
  • Eliza's Rapid Shot now ends if the target has 0HP like other Push skills.
  • Fixed 8-2's new pipes
  • Fixed Asterisk's shop going dark after you beat him.
  • Some dialogue changes if you beat the game again after clearing Post-Game content.

Hotfix #3: Squashing Bugs

What is Changing?


In order to fix a rare and brutal bug, Some moves had to be completely rewritten.
Pictured here is a sad Edgar who not only can't attack but cannot select any physical moves. This happens randomly and seemingly for no reason other than the enemy AI picks a skill that has a selection condition and for some reason that calls a weapon range block that Dyztopia doesn't even use. It's weird, and it was a lot of effort to rewrite all of this but the bug no longer happens. Here's a list of skill and scenarios directly affected by the change.
  • Snackrifice now can target anyone including the user. (I do not like this change but I had to concede it to fix the bug)
  • Bloodseeker now can target anyone instead of just Bleeding foes.
  • Chase vs. the real Morgalia had to be rewritten. Now only the story mission can get the alternate game over.
  • A lot of enemy-related selection conditions had to be rewritten into their AI. For example, all of the Angel equipment that makes you immune to Exile now uses the AI instead of a selection condition.
  • Oblivion (D) can now target bosses. It doesnt Exile them, but it will strip them of their buffs and shields.
New Content
There is a crumb of new content. Runi equipped with Twin Doom will now sport a cool palette swap to match the fun memories made on that route. Also, for people who have Twin Doom and for people who are currently running through the Worst Timeline. Here's a special win pose for you.
In the spirit of all things Gemini, there is also a new Anomaly. This time it's Pollux. And Vira got a new sprite as well (just like I said last patch notes!) That's it for new content. The content is very light this time because I am focusing on the sequel. (or trying to, anyway.)

Other Changes


-Certain tracks have been replaced in Chapter 2. -The Electro Ball hazard in Stage 6 has an actual animation. It should be more clear that its a threat. Now appears in more stages too. -Runis Mind Spring Circlet is now retired. Replaced by Storm Circlet (+24 INT per action she takes. Please Storm responsibly!) -Bully reworked. Now adds LUCK to damage instead of a flat +30% (I think this change is a buff but also it helps players itemize Genesis.) -Wash Away is gone. Replaced with Waterfall -New Move: Psycho Cutter -New Move: Aura Shards -New Move: Anti-Matter Shot -Reworked Lunez's Death Row. Now includes Meteor Saber and Poison Cleave base and disables all Flash too -New Move: Poison Cleave -Eliza gets a 3rd level skill -[spoiler]Virgo [/spoiler]gets a 1st level skill! -Fixed Gotcha "dropping" Paola's Mask -Fixed Ink Swathe shard and Nova shard being bundled together. Gatcha isn't that generous. -Kiyota no longer has a social link smiley at Pon Pon during the Lunez Route -Kiyota now has catch-up EXP in the Lunez Route. Turns out Visual Novels give experience. -Fixed weirdness in 4-2 where the backtrack ladder would be impassable -6-3 got a major rehaul. No longer can you go to the bottom if you miss the jump, and a lot of incorrect eventing was changed to make sure things ran smoothly. -7-1 through 7-4 all have new geography -Stage 8 has new areas -Stage 7 fireballs now have better hit detection. -Zazz and Twelve dialogue slightly altered -Fixed magnets not resetting properly -I went through all of the skills and gave them all the correct cooldowns. (Some were hilariously off. Whoops!) -Hyperkinetic Plate no longer makes your Agility Invalid. (This will only affect new Hyperkenetic Plates. The item works fine in battle but there is weirdness in the equip screen) -Incorrect Icons have been fixed (These will only affect new armor and weapons.) -The skill manual was missing Exhaust. Hot Fix Finale #2 + A Foolish Update

Hello Everyone! I've come back to do some fixing to Dyztopia as well as add a timely April Fools item. There's also a change to the Equip Screen! Now Shards and Other Armor will have descriptions! So you can see what skill the Shard provides without having to go in and out of menus so much. Unfortunately, this change isn't retroactive and will only apply to new shards you obtain AFTER the update. (This is a major reason why weapon upgrades won't be returning in the sequel.)

Updates


-Added a new Equip screen to help show more information. Especially for Shards -New Seasonal Item: The Foolish Cap! Prevents you from getting EXP! -Angels have left the Hard Battle Lab. New battles now replace them. Originally, Angels were added to spice up the battle lab, but since adding their rematches in the Secret Area, I don't think they really belong in the Battle Lab anymore. -Post-game updates to Antares and Hamal. They each have new mechanics. In a recent playthrough these two were the most boring of the Faceless fights. I wanted to make them more exciting. Antares would spam low-tier skills which was a little emersion-breaking for a secret post-game boss (IMHO). The new fights are very formidable... and with some new graphics to boot. Vira is another Faceless I have my eyes on, but I want to resume work on the sequel so she's the same for now. -Many enemies have been given new Royal moves. -Ink Swathe has its animation made more clear

Fixes


- 4-5 magnets now work correctly. No more soft lock. - 5-3 has new graphics for the lower section. No longer uses the old Dicetopia border. - Various typos were fixed in skill descriptions and dialogue. - Various shards were given incorrect icons - Fixed some of Fredek's weapons using the wrong icon for AGILITY - Fixed Embargo Aura. Embargo RAI would prevent you from using certain items. There was a bug that would not only auto-remove it for the user but EVERY OTHER BUFF AS WELL. This includes when the player uses Embargo too. It now works as intended. Please Clap. - Fixed Chaos Breaker incorrectly being a Magical skill even though it's a Physical one. - Added Adapt description for Toxice. (It had the Adapt properties but wasn't labeled) - ESP Blackhole (D) incorrectly stated that it used Attack and Resistance - Fixed Aquarius Soul not giving the user Resistance to every element. Hot Fix Finale #1: Achievements are back!

Hello! The main fix here is fixing Achievements BUT this also comes with a couple of fixes -Detritus 8's logs cleaned up -Costumes now refer to a character's class rather than name.   • Lunez: New Skill / Death Row - Costs 1MP - When activated, Two-Faced will be disabled (all skills can go on cooldown) and your ATK and INT stats will be cut, but Gaia Raid will score Triple Hits. Upgrades to this skill will add Bog Bash and Poison Wave to the list of spells
  • Detritus: New Skill/ Gloomspear - Costs 10% HP, 1MP, and 1 Hype: Attacks 1-3 times against the target. Has Flash if Detritus is guarding. Upgradeable.
  • Detritus: Riposte - Now removes Guard before the damage.
  • Fredek: New Skill/ Pyro Panic - 4 MP - Deals damage to all foes. Damage is based on Panic Attack upgrade level, and flips buffs. This is Fredeks new sync skill, replacing Char.
  • Eliza: New Skill/Inellviate - 3 MP - Heals all allies for a small amount on cast, then heal a massive amount at the beginning of the next turn. This effect can revive allies if they are affected by the initial healing. Upgradeable.
  • Rogue: New Skill/Starbreaker - 2 MP, 1 Hype Deals high damage to one target and removes all shields even boss shields. Upgradeable
  • The Exca fight has been completely reworked. He now offers you to play a game with him. Hell gain points the more the gains hype and if you end your turn with any dead allies. The more points he has, the stronger he becomes.
  • The Aphos fight has had some reworks in place. The biggest change is his two new moves and the fact that he has three weaknesses now (kind of). Hell try to use Tri-Shield, one of his new moves, to make him ABSORB his weaknesses, so for the most part, hell retain his no weakness status. He also has Chemical Warfare to help spread Ailments and try to kill the party slowly with damage over time states. His old move, Extended Warranty now counts as a Negative status and thus can be healed.
  • Rosies Costume has been taken out of the shop, and Fredeks costume is in its place. For Rosie and Rogue, you can obtain their costumes for free in their respective rooms. Detrituss costume is uniquely an accessory and is obtained as a reward for defeating the Hard Battle Lab.
Dev Note: This is the last content update for Dyztopia! I hope you enjoy it! I am not leaving the game by any means. I intend to keep up with bugs and typos, and in extreme cases balance changes as well. I did say last year I was working on the sequel and it's only gotten a bit of my attention while I kept updating Dyztopia 1, so now Dyztopia 2 will have my full focus. It's been a great journey, and thank you for being a part of it.

Winter Hotfixes!

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays! Doing a bit of maintenance for Dyztopia: The changes are as follows.

  • Capricorn's Rage ability now works properly
  • Fixed a glitch where Exhaust would trigger incorrectly while you had Mana
  • Nerfed Star Parade: No longer has Flash and costs 4MP
  • Added a new item: Hot Drinks. Clears all cooldowns. Sold exclusively by Tsukasa.
  • Fixed Runi going invisible if you reloaded as her
  • Fixed a weird glitch in 9-7 where you could enter an elevator too early and clip through the tiles causing a soft lock.

Dyztopia General Fixes

WINTER UPDATE


The Winter Update is here with plenty of goodies! Costumes for Crow, Rosie, Lunez, Chase and Genesis are now available. In addition, All costumes are permanently available! Fate Stones and Zodiac Souls
There's a new resource available called Fate Stones. You get them for defeating Zodiacs. You get one for each true condition. - Defeat Normally (Free Space) - Defeat without using Items - Defeat within a certain time limit (unique to each boss) Using these Fate Stones you can craft powerful Shards called Zodiac Souls. Using these will give you an edge in battle. You get the recipe after defeating each Zodiac except for three of them (Gemini, Aquarius, and [REDACTED]) for which you have to find some other way to craft them other than Poakun. Obtaining all of these conditions in Hard Mode will also award an Achievement! These are the Zodiac GOLD achievements. You can obtain them naturally during the story or in the Secret Area. After defeating a Faceless, you can do a true rematch with the Zodiac, and there you can fight to earn the achievement or farm Fate Stones for Zodiac Souls. The Secret Area also received a bit of a revamp. It looks cleaner now, and theres even a new area to explore if you can find it, that is. Im sure youll be rewarded if you do. New Content -15 New Achievements! -New Fate Stones to craft powerful items -New Secret Boss! [spoiler]Ophiucus[/spoiler] -New Costumes! -Unsynced Aquarius has a new mechanic! -Rematches for The Zodiacs and certain Angels Balance Changes -Costumes now scale in price with your story progress (With the sole exception of Runi's.) -Bulwark now adds barrier equal to Detrituss DEFENCE stat to allies every turn instead of level. -Damage from statuses (Such as Aqua Bolas, Vine/Shadow Trap) can no longer kill bosses. They can still kill enemies. -All Push Skills have a cap. They cant be pushed more than four times. This is to save an interaction between Reaper and Multi-push skills. This interaction is still very strong. -Multi-Kicker has a push cap of 10. There was an infinite with Heart Aura, so I had to make it not interact with lifesteal. Now with the cap, it has full interaction with that skill. -Rapid Shot Damage Increase -Aqua Bolas barrier damage doubled -Hyper Heal has its cooldown increased to 7 -Vanguard and Ripotse no longer have a damage cap of 500 -Riposte MP Up -Bonus Mod now gives +30 stats (up from +10) -Boozy Mod now gives +50 to all stats (up from +10) -Blood Berry is now a Magical move instead of a Physical one -Vine Trap now triggers on Physical Hits AND Any Wood-Type spell -Stop Gap has no Cooldown. -Coat of Farms removes Vulnerable, Silence, and now CORRECTLY removes debuffs Bug Fixes -Typos and repeated dialogue fixed in certain areas -Sync Skills will now remember that you can only Sync once, even if a Synced party member died. This includes Chases Ultimate Item. -Saying yes to Capricorn now adds +1 to Akari's ending instead of setting it to 1. -Candy Slinger was incorrectly labeled as a Runi Weapon. It's now a Crow Weapon. -Brainstorm and Snackrifice always have Flash Dev Commentary I initially wanted the Winter Update to be pretty small, as I wanted to focus more on Dyztopia 2 development, but knowing how I dev that just wasn't going to happen. I didn't think I'd make it to five Costumes for this update but here we are (Plus Chase uses a completely new sprite sheet). I'm happy with the new batch. I put a lot of thought into them, The skills this time around I feel don't seem unique at first but I really like the design of Flamlanx, Timber, and Toxice. I brought back Genesis's Bio Bomb and I like that Rosie has an Alcohol Healing skill that's way better than Runi's showing that she is truly the better bartender. As for the GOLD achievements. Getting them in the story is tough. I was able to get all of them with cruddy gear, but some of them were nightmares (Looking at you Libra). That being said, getting them in the post-game is way easier when you have more party members, and the only thing you miss out on are Shards by not doing them. SPOILER TIME [spoiler] Now, I'm not saying anything about the fate of Dyztopia 2, but in the event it doesn't happen, I wanted to do a true Ophiucus fight. The fight is TOUGH and it looks fantastic. I think it's my favorite fight of Dyztopia next to Y-Phen. I'm being a little cryptic about it because it's kind of hard to get to, but it is obtainable in any non-Evil Runi run. [/spoiler] And that's it for the Winter Update! I think it is really tailored towards post-game, and there's a healthy amount of secrets here that I haven't shared. As for me, I'm probably going to take the month of December off from Dev and enjoy the holidays, That being said... Hot Fixes #4: CRITICAL UPDATE!

New Features New Evil Runi ending and requirements. Now you will DEFINITELY change the fate of Zeta New critical hit formula: Characters will low luck will have around 5% to 11% critical chance while higher luck characters will have more. (The goal of this is to see more critical hits and have it be a viable way to generate Hype.) New Akira Passive: Izuna: Akira's first critical hit each turn will give all friends +1 Hype. For those who want Akira's old passive, you can find it in the Birthday Kunai in the Seasonal Store. New Runi Passive: Clear Mind - Starts her out with a Barrier equal to her INT + RES and the first move will give +1 MP. To get this passive, Runi needs to Destroy the Gemini Stone. She can no longer Sync with this passive. Not even with Twin Doom. Note: She will have Twin Harmonic in most other cases. HP and BP are now displayed together instead of overlapping The barrier damage popup is now a very noticeable and hot Pink. New combo counter graphic New Angel Boss Music!!! Eli has a new mechanic in their boss fight New portraits for Fredek, Rosie, Setzuna, and Chase. Chase's ending is rewritten. Kolfos now gets citizenship regardless of her link level. Hallowere Begins!

Though Halloween may not be for a while, the people of Dyztopia celebrate Hallowere all month long! Talk to Asterisk and find yourself a shiny new costume. They come with a pallet swap, good stats, and a new move. You have until the end of November before Asterisk puts them back on the shelf again!

New Features

Balance Changes


  • Crow's Advantage now gives him +1 Hype if any enemy has an ailment
  • Mimic Family all have their defences raised
  • Degen Aura has been added to more enemies
  • Faceless now have "Hyper" i.e. bonus stats when hyped. Enemies like Siren and the Angels had this before.
  • Favorite and Adverse elements have been correctly implemented. You will now do bonus/reduced damage respectively.
  • Hard Battle Lab now has 20 stages instead of 19. Akari's battle is still the final one, but there is a new encounter before that.

Bug Fixes


  • Fixed a bug where passives would get disabled for no reason
  • Fixed points in 8-3 where you could get hit by a bomb into offscreen, or stuck between a fish
  • Fixed the propellers in 8-3 so they work more than once.
  • Fixed the Call Bot giving you infinite Fredek and Genesis syncs
  • Fixed Bypass moves sometimes display the incorrect damage number
  • Fixed the Minigame not resetting flags properly
  • Fixed the Minigame taking away all your money if you win. It's accurate to real-life gambling but incorrect nonetheless.
  • Animations now play about 5 frames slower. This is to reduce stutters when targeting enemies.

Halloween Pre-Patch!

New Features
Echo Stones are no longer in chests! They have a unique sprite! Stages 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9 have been made fully backtrackable. You can now run laps around them and return to paths that were once one-way. You can now go to both Stage 9 and Stage 10 at any point during the post-game Stage 7 has a brand new Minecart section. You can use it to backtrack or as an alternate path. Stage 10-2 now has an abundance of late-game weapons and armor The catch is they dont show unless you meet a specific requirement. For example, Kiyotas Armor can only be seen if you have four or more Sync with her. Some in-game Items now have reminder text! Items and Armor that had extra space now tell you what certain statues do. Arch-Demon Gemini and her Faceless counterpart now have a new music track! Balance Changes Enemies who use Null Number will use it less, instead of 100% of the time. F. Nut now properly heals for its full value Doomsday now gives the user Panic for two turns, and its cooldown has been lowered. Stage 1-1 has more healing items. Primarily to teach players about the status Shopkeepers now conveniently carry items that help with the corresponding elements. So Mika carries Icy Profen to help deal with the Frozen status in Stage 3, and Quan carries Eye Drops for the Blind, the enemies in Stage 5 like to inflict. Null Number now reduces Hype by 1. (Down from 3) Enemy Luck in Stage 1 has been lowered across the board New Cooldowns for all Upgrade Skills, like Wave Slash and Stop Gap. Every ten upgrades reduce their respective Cooldown by 1. This should make it appealing to go all-in in a stat. Genesis has Bonus Base Evasion and Ward. She is the squishiest character and cant really hang in some late-game fights. This hopefully helps. Extended Warranty now has a longer cooldown and warm-up in Hard Mode Headache now properly reduces your MP Regen to 0, THEN inflicts -1 MP. Guarding and Hype MP is cancelled out. Guard now correctly gives 1MP upon using the skill and an extra 1MP a turn. (It was giving 2MP upon execution.) Bug Fixes Fixed certain Treasures not being passable after opening them Fixed Akira not learning Mirror Beam when getting their first Sync. Fixed Leos Ultimate Move not properly killing every Spawn Fixed certain backtrack switches not working Fixed the hanging bars in 5-1, letting you float Fixed Mirror Beam being usable in the skill menu. Fixes Leonis having unintended damage reduction. Fixed lots of weird collisions in 10-2 Fixed Tsukasa sprite turning into a completely different character (it was funny but incorrect) Fixed typos and repeated Dialogue Fixed Quot not answering a question in her first location. GAMEPLAY - Reduced the cost of Echo Stone crafting - The Infotron now spells out the Species -Logic Purge now has No Limit - Decabolt, renamed to Octobolt (Because I can't count) now deals damage eight times with a high chance to stun. (Decabolt Shard in your current saves will not have their description updated.) - Toned down Aries Hyper Fire Rend. Now, he tries to Big Slam high HP Targets -You can now finish Detritus's Sync in Chapter 3. - New events with Tsukasa in the Post-Game area. -Bosses and their lesser demons now have an increased chance to drop Echo Stones. Dyztopia, is a cute but difficult RPG. Discover the world after the world's end. Play as an agent gone rogue trying to make the world a better place. Quit your job!

The world ended due to a demonic invasion. Now new humanoids walk the earth dealing with the remnants of our present. The President, the last human alive, seeks to exploit the world and resurrect humanity.

Use many of the various elements to quickly defeat your foes in turn-based combat! The game rewards you for smart plays using the Hype system. Exploit the enemy's weakness, but be careful as they can do the same to you!
