Yikes, sorry about that title. I should have gone with Ghost In The Shell Script. Actually, shh, forget I said that, I'll use it another time. Ok here's whats new! - Not a lot. - New Autosave in Day 5 (at the start of the third/final round of questioning) (did you know Day 5 is a murder mystery?! because it so is.) - Cleaned up some code in Day 5 that prevents a rare issue when questioning Pendleton (thank you PsyD Mom!) - One time, the word Irish was said and it wasn't capitalized. So. Now it is. - Another time, there was an extra "a" in a sentence. And now it's not. Oh! Something fun! There's a super cool Player's Guide/Companion to all the must-see moments in the game and it's now included in the PC version's game folder! It can also be found on the website: Players Guide- Cant-Miss Companion to The Phantom Fellows Also, while I strongly recommend you instead use the in-game hint system, there is an official walkthrough on the website as well! Finally, if you enjoyed your time with my game and haven't already, I'd greatly appreciate a positive review, it really helps out a solo dev like myself :) And as always, thank you for playing The Phantom Fellows!
Are we... did that Olan Mills reference land? Here, I'll explain it into being funny, see they were the quintessential 80's family portrait people and this build has all new ghost portraits so that's why, well, that's the why. I regret going this route. But I'd hate to waste a whole, terrible paragraph so on with the show! - Fixed an uncommon bug in Day 4 that caused a crash - Fixed a single spelling error (I'llll never tell) (teehee) - Sorry about that teehee up there - Intro music over the menu lowered yet again I think I've lowered it a few in every single update and it was still a little loud for streamers - Added more direction and clarity to the opening dialog in Day 5, should a player try to leave before briefing is completed - Finally, the ghost's have new portraits and I think they look ah-mazing, shek 'em out! And as always, thank you for playing (and leaving a positive review for) The Phantom Fellows!
- Lower default volume (streamers had been kinda yelling over the title screen) - Englebert has a new speech portrait that is up to 40% more ghostly! - Minor art adjustments to a few sprites to avoid any unintended similarities to other works - Improved room art in... one of the rooms. Look, it's the one room that's kinda hidden so I can't say - "Exit" mouse cursor for a few rooms where the exit might not be apparent - Other stuff. Gotta have a bullet point for just, stuff. Possibly even important stuff, who really knows Thank you for playing The Phantom Fellows!
-Significant safe guard to the final puzzle (thanks to YouTuber aulddragon) -A bunch of minor tweaks, fixes and improvements Unless something breaks beforehandMerry Christmas, Happy Chanukah & do a good New Year! And as always, thank you for playing The Phantom Fellows!
- Crucial Fix to Day 4 - Fixed issues when re-visitng Museum outside of Day 3 (thanks aulddragon!) - The more wordy credits don't go by so fast - Like 5 other really small things that would be painful for both us to go through Thank you for playing The Phantom Fellows!
-Added a lot of new hints to Day 5 (thanks MysteryCapybara) -Additional small enhancements and conveniences that don't sound very fun spelled out but I assure myself was worth it. YOU'LL SEE, YOU'LL MAYBE SEE I really just wanted to get these hints to everyone because with them, Day 5 is pretty air-tight as far as help when you need it. Thank you for playing The Phantom Fellows!
-Fixed a catastrophic stack-overflow bug (thank you Compmouse!) -Player-Swap working correctly in Day 5 -Default Volume lowered What's cool about this patch, is that it actually fixes stuff instead of breaking the entire gameI think you're gonna love it. Happy Halloween and thank you for playing The Phantom Fellows!
-Default volume lowered (again) (it was still scaring people) -Fixed an issue preventing players from switching to Englebert randomly and especially in Day 5 (thanks MysteryCapybara!) Happy Halloween you crazy kidsand HEY. Hey. Thanks for playing The Phantom Fellows!
-Crucial fix for Day 3 Tickets Room (Thanks Chad and Summer!) Thank you for playing The Phantom Fellows!
-Crucial Fix to Day 5 where Englebert would suddenly refuse to talk to you. Which was funny because you got ghosted by a ghost but it's actually, it was a pretty big bug. (thanks Anna!) -Fix to Day 3 where a mysterious banana peel would appear when it shouldn't have. This sounds like a joke but it's actually a very serious banana peel-related problem. (thanks Highbury!) And this is a spooky patch because I wasn't eating halloween candy this time, but I was eating rice cakes and that's a pretty scary actuality. Thank you for playing The Phantom Fellows!
-Additional Hints for Day 3 & 4 (thanks Anna!) -Crucial Day 3 Fix (thanks Anna!) -Player Swap Icon Fix (thanks Summer!) Also this patch is spooky because I ate halloween candy while it uploaded. So. Thank you for playing The Phantom Fellows!
-Crucial Day 2 Fix (thanks Summer) -Crucial Day 4 Fix (thanks Gegolian) -Additional Day 4 Hints -Default Volume Lowered Reminder that the previous stable build is available beta branch "previous_version". Launching September 27th 2024 for PC, Mac & Linux! They say it takes a village and as a solo dev and solo dad, I am so grateful for your support through this journey. I have had the best 3.5 years of my life making this game and I'm so excited to share it with you! Paul
Fellow Adventurers! Hi! Hey. Sup. Starting this with Fellow Adventurers gives this whole thing a real hear ye hear ye vibe, right? Like now I don't know how to frame this, it's all suddenly very Monty Python-y in my head. Okay look, listen, let's not make this a whole thing, just, here's a quick update: I'm almost done, omg this was kinda hard. But also, I gave the artwork quite a massive overhaul a few months ago, maybe it was a year now, doesn't matter, and so the original demo now makes me sad to look at. The original demo is like my game's awkward puberty stage and now I want all pics of it removed from the internet. So, at the end of January (2024) I will be releasing an updated Demo, featuring all the new art and the new UI and just, all the new everything. Okay demo portion covered, SHEK. On to the full release! First of all, gross, hate that wording. Next of all, the full game is about to enter public beta testing! While it's being tested and fixed, and tested and fixed, I will also be creating and recording the soundtrack. I have no firm idea of when it'll be done and while this was kind of a 'on the DL' thought, if you're reading this, you deserve to know, I'm hoping to have the game ready for the Adventure Game Hotspot Fan Fair, this summer. For reasons. Possibly related to being in the Adventure Game Hotspot Network and wanting to bring some show n tell with me to the, the thing. The convention. Also come to the convention, it's gonna be rad. Ok I'm all done, thanks for reading this, please tell people about it or retweet stuff or like, I don't know, drink more water? Okay good talk. I hope you're all doing well, I love you, don't do a mur- oh wait, wrong, that's a different thing. Paul
Fellow adventurers! Ok and please don't yell at me but, I'm delaying the release date. But don't mourn the delay, celebrate the reason or whatever because the truth is, it came down to- make a ton of sacrifices for the sake of not having to write this, or, hold firm and release the best possible game I can make. And I love this game, I've been working on it full time for almost 3 years now and these have been the best 3 years of my life. I cannot wait to share this with you and with your support, I'll continue to give this everything I have!
This is the best community on the planet, thank you for your motivating and relentless kindness
Paul
