Welcome to your first day at the KindBroth® soup factory!
Consumption Line is a short, 100% free, experimental indie game about food systems, industrial production, deceptive advertising, and the erosion of meaning in a world obsessed with efficiency. You play as a factory worker operating two machines: one for broth, one for noodles. Your job is simple: meet your daily quota, follow the recipe, don't ask questions.
At first, it feels almost cozy. But as days pass, ingredients change. Machines get faster. Expectations rise. And something about the soup... feels slightly off.
Features
Short and focused. Playable in one sitting (approx. 30 minutes).
Assembly-line gameplay that evolves each day.
No game over states, no collectibles, no grind. Just play and think.
Unlimited soup!
What is this game exactly?
This is not a traditional game. There are no skill trees, boss fights, or deep systems. It's a tightly scoped, 30-minute experience meant to invite reflection. Over the course of five in-game days, your routine remains the same: leave your flat, take the subway, arrive at the production line, hit your quota, go home... Yet there are some changes, some funny and some bleak, that reveal issues in the world around you.
Fully free!
Consumption Line is 100% free and also ad-free. It was created as a personal, 'artsy' project to explore our relationship with ultra-processed foods, misleading marketing, and the ruthlessness of capitalism.
Hey everyone!\n\nUpdate 1.8.1 has just been launched with a fresh new feature: Portuguese (Portugal) support.\n\n
\n\nThis translation was handcrafted with care (and zero food additives) by community member River, who tackled the entire thing purely out of love for the game. Someone give them a medal. Or soup. Or both! What an absolute legend.\n\nHave fun!
This past week, Ive received so many kind words, personal messages, and stories from people who have played our games. I cant thank you enough for the warmth and all the words of support!\n\n
\n\nAnd now, a few important clarifications to answer some of the questions that have been popping up:\n\nRhombico Games is not closing completely, but were winding down operations significantly. This means no new projects are in development, and our activity will be much less from now on. However, the games we have released will remain available. Nothing is being taken down. You can continue to buy and play them on Steam and other stores as usual.\n\nSupport will continue on a limited basis. If you need help, please use the contact form on our website. Thats the only channel well be monitoring going forward. Unfortunately, we wont have the capacity to respond on Steam forums, social media, or other platforms. Automachef and Power to the People will continue to be supported by their respective publishers (Team17 and Crytivo).\n\nThank you once again for all the kind words and for being part of this journey!\nFederico.
Hello everyone,\n\nI have made the incredibly difficult decision to begin winding down Rhombico Games. Its a bittersweet moment, for sure. I am, at the same time, filled with pride for everything weve built, gratitude for everyone whos been part of the journey, and some sadness for whats coming to an end. Sometimes, things simply don\'t work out as we expected, despite putting all of our effort in them. We had a good run, though!\n\nAs part of this transition, the development of our upcoming game, Break, Enter, Repeat, will be put on hold indefinitely. Its a project I deeply care about and believe in. And I still hope that, in some form, its vision and spirit may find a way forward someday.\n\nAs for the other games (Winds Of Trade, Automachef, Power to the People, Consumption Line), they sadly won\'t receive any more content or feature updates. I will try my best, though, to address critical bug fixes or security vulnerabilities that might arise in the future.\n\nTo everyone who played our games, supported our projects, and believed in what we were trying to do: a massive thank you, from the bottom of my heart.\n\nFor a more detailed look into this process, take a look here: https://www.rhombicogames.com/2025/10/31/thank-you-for-playing/\n\nFeel free to use the contact form on the website to send your questions, words of support, or anything else you might want to share.\n\nHeres to new adventures ahead!\nFederico.
Hey everyone! We just pushed an update to address a security issue recently disclosed by Unity. This isn\'t affecting just our game. It affects all games built with Unity (2017.1 and onward).\n\nAs of now, there is no evidence that this vulnerability has ever been exploited. Even so, we\'re not taking risks. Please update the game as soon as you can. The patch is live, and installing it now is our best move, even if the issue hasn\'t impacted anything yet.\n\nKeep the soup securely flowing, dear employee!\n\nYou can find all the technical details on Unity\'s website: https://unity.com/security/sept-2025-01
We\'ve just pushed a new update for Consumption Line: version 1.7.3.\n\n
Whats new in 1.7.3
\n\nRecipes guide added
\nYou can now see all valid recipes for your machines in the current level. Just hit ESCAPE, go to the menu, and select the shiny new \"Recipes\" button. No more second-guessing your broth/noodle combos!\n\n
\n\nBlack screen bug squashed
\nSome players reported the game getting stuck on a black screen if they pressed ESCAPE during scene transitions or loading. That\'s now fixed.\n\nSettings screen fix
\nThe settings screen title is no longer SHOUTING AT YOU IN ALL CAPS. It now speaks at a normal volume. (?)\n\nEgg sound effect
\nDropping an egg into a machine now comes with its own unique sound effect. After all, soup is in the ear of the beholder.\n\nThanks again to everyone who\'s been playing and sharing their thoughts! Feedback like yours is what keeps these little updates coming.It\'s finally here!
The conveyor belt is running. The production quotas are waiting. Consumption Line has launched!
