To download the latest updates for Steam Deck, go to the games properties, open the Compatibility section, select Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool, and choose Steam Linux Runtime from the drop-down list.

We see your questions and concerns about the addition of Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) to the game. We understand that changes can be worrying, especially for mod enthusiasts and Linux/Steam Deck players. Lets go over the key points together.

Why did we need EAC?

• Cheating prevention

  We are working on new competitive modes. Unfortunately, cheaters (e.g., those using "infinite nitro") ruin the experience for fair players and prevent you from fully enjoying new features.

• Your feedback

  We constantly receive reports about cheatersboth in ranked races and regular lobbies.

• Why EAC?

  We chose EAC as one of the least intrusive options among popular anti-cheat solutions. EAC does not block ReShade and does not interfere with car appearance mods.

Why did mods stop working?

• Data system update

  Issues with car appearance mods are not caused by EAC but by our internal data storage system update. We made this change so that after version 1.7.0, modders would need to update their mods less frequently with our releases.

• ReShade

  Currently, ReShade works, but crashes may occur. Keep in mind that ReShade is a third-party tool, and we cannot guarantee its stability. However, our team is already investigating these crashes to improve compatibility where possible.

Why were there issues with Linux and Steam Deck?

• Linux

  Initially, CarX Street was not positioned as a game with Linux or third-party emulator support. However, given your interest, we have already started adapting the game for Linux systems.

• Steam Deck

  Partial Deck support, which existed before version 1.7.0, was restored in patch 1.7.1. We are aware of complaints about unstable performance and are actively working on optimizing the game for Steam Deck. Note that full official Deck support was never previously announced, but we are striving to achieve it.

Will EAC be removed from the game? No, EAC will remain. It is necessary to protect fair play and the future development of multiplayer. We believe this is an important step toward creating a fair and enjoyable environment for all players.

About Anti-Cheat and Mods

Steam Deck & Linux

The team is preparing a fix for this temporary issue in the coming days.

Anti-Cheat

Anti-cheat is not designed to block players or their accountsit exists to prevent game hacking. Of course, if you try to run the game with Cheat Engine enabled, you wont be able to play, but your account wont be banned. You simply wont be able to launch the game until you close Cheat Engine. Dont fear anti-cheatits not your enemy. It protects you in multiplayer and poses no threat to honest players.

Mods

As weve already announced, visual mods such as texture replacements, car model swaps (FBX), and ReShade presets are not penalized in our game. Regarding broken modsweve improved mod support in update 1.7.0 by changing the car mesh storage system. This means mod creators wont have to update their mods after version 1.7.0.

ReShade

Unfortunately, ReShade support is currently suspended, but the team is actively looking into bringing it back. For now, we recommend removing ReShade, as it may cause serious graphical artifacts or game crashes.

Whats New in This Version
