OVERVIEW

An adventure kart-racing game with an ensemble of cute, colorful animal characters! Set in a theme park, compete to win tickets and unlock new courses and new worlds in the park to explore. Driving consists of precise, arcade-style movement, complete with drifting, boosting, and items to use against your opponents!

STORY

Amusement Land is a rundown, abandoned theme park taken over by sentient animatronic creatures. In order to save Amusement Land, you (a mascot of the park) have to beat them all in a race to induce ego death in their core processing units. Along the way, you'll race with other mascots to train for dueling those mechanical baddies as well as explore the theme park itself.

FEATURES

• 16 courses to race on!

  • Standard Races - Race against your opponents and strive for 1st place

  • Token Races - Collect all the tokens...AND also win the race

  • Boss Races - Compete against several unique mechanical bosses in a 1v1 race

• Drifting/Boosting - Build up charge by drifting and release to boost

  • Building up even more charge lets you use a super-boost!

• Items - Collect these to boost, attack, and lay hazards for your opponents

• Hub World - Between races, you will explore a literal hub world -- Amusement Park itself! There are four unique areas, each with their own track entrances, as well as some secrets to uncover...

CONTROLS

The game is designed for controller input, but it is playable with a keyboard:

• Arrow Keys - Drive

• Space - Use Item / Boost

• Enter - Pause

• Z - Hop / Drift

• X - Accelerate

• C - Brake

This game was made entirely using free and open source software: Godot, Krita, Blender, and Aesprite! It's also heavily inspired by retro kart racers from the 90's and 2000's, if that's not already obvious enough.
