New Year, New Chapter

Hey everyone, looks like this will be the final post of 2025. Looking forward to what 2026 has in store for the Life of Guy. This last week I was in maintenance mode mainly. Still testing out a few features and making sure the build is ready for the 1/20/26 release.

I was also able to add some more great QoL updates that I\'d like to share with you. I\'ll post some screenshots below as well. Hope you all have a wonderful New Year!

I hope you\'re all gearing up for a fantastic Christmas and all around epic holiday season. I still can\'t believe how much this game has grown in such a short amount of time. With that being said I\'d like to update you on what to expect going forward since Chapter 1 will be releasing in less than a month.

For now, most of the code changes are done and I\'ll only be updating the build to fix some typos or bugs that I may encounter. Possibly some small QoL changes as well based on user feedback. I certainly don\'t want to alter the build more than that since it\'s in a stable state now.

Going forward I\'ll mainly be focused on updating you on progress towards the Chapter 2 DLC. For those who purchase the full game all of the subsequent DLCs will be free so I\'ll keep you updated each week with progress towards those efforts.

As always thank you so much for being a part of this with me. Below are some small QoL changes and minor additions I\'ve made to Chapter 1:

• Added a new user setting to allow you to auto-win the dialogue minigames for a more relaxed gaming experience. The results will always be the maximum you could reasonably get if you were playing it manually. You will be able to toggle this feature on and off at anytime throughout the game.

This past week I was mainly focused on finishing up the achievement implementation as well as testing my Steam build that is currently in review. Thanks again for being here and supporting this project. Creating this game has been an incredibly rewarding experience and I\'m really looking forward to releasing it soon.

UPDATES:

This week I continued to work on character quests/affinity quests and I was also able to add the VIP area access with a repeatable activity. This activity will focus on a few familiar Special characters who will pretend not to know you due to the rules of the VIP Area. (Think what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas)

Another feature I added is an easy way to generate wealth for those who don\'t want to spend too much time grinding the Joblin app jobs. The easy money Sabrina Character will possibly be a bit controversial however since the narrative for her is that she\'s not conventionally attractive. I thought about this a lot when creating the character, but ultimately decided to just go with it and hopefully her personality will shine through enough to make her looks less important. I did give her a mask which will shroud her face at first. I\'ll drop a screenshot below and you can decide. :)

Hello Frens!

This week I continued to work on character progressions and a couple of sidequests with Jackie and Carrie npcs. Both of these optional quests will require certain storyline conditions as well as items to unlock and they have multiple endings depending on how you choose to proceed. I also added a lot of UI polish to the dialogue choice option buttons which will now have item icons and quantities.

Another YUGE thing I worked on was an update to my custom visual novel engine that the game is built on. For those who are familiar with Renpy visual novel engine I\'ve added the Skip dialogue functionality to my engine as well. You\'ll now be able to skip through previously seen dialogues across different saves. This will make it much easier when it\'s time to farm Steam achievements or alternate content you may have missed during your first playthrough. Thanks again for all your support!

I made A LOT of progress this week. I added a few side quests, two new activities, and a new character. I also added a means of character progression for multiple existing npcs as well as created a new unlockable phone app that will be used to track and convert affinity points. I just wanted to give a quick update to some of the things I\'ve been working on this week.

I have been primarily focused on adding more progression with a lot of the available NPCS that you\'ll encounter in the first chapter of the game. Progressing with a character will lead to unlocking affinity quests that will be needed to earn the necessary affinity points to unlock nodes in the Luciverse. There will also be a system for converting affinities with items or neutral affinity (robot) characters. I\'ve also added the intros to two more Play Video Games activities in the living room, and there will be an optional unlockable Dream activity in the Bedroom location provided you have unlocked it by visiting a certain NPC and paying her an exorbitant amount of money. Changes:

As always I am eternally grateful for those of you who believe in the project and have been kind enough to play the demo and Wishlist the game.

When I started developing this game one of my main goals was to ensure that each npc character had a level of depth and background that would make them unique and memorable while at the same time creating a fun and compelling hero\'s journey for the main character. I wanted to make an adult visual novel that was sexy but also had a lot of heart. As a result of that goal, the scale and scope of the game started to grow. The storyline grew larger and more ambitious than I had anticipated.

So to do this massive story justice without cutting content or compromising on quality, I\'ve decided to adopt an episodic release model.

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to give a quick update into some of the things I\'ve been working on. I\'ve done a lot of work on updating the Store page with some of the more recent content that I\'ve added since the demo. I added a new trailer, some animations, and some new screenshots and cover images. I also added Steam Achievements which I\'ll be including once the game is released, and I did some testing to ensure that cloud save functionality was working as well. Aside from the two new main story quests, one of the more interesting additions came in the form of a new activity in the main character\'s living room area. There will be a new option for \'Play Video Games.\' And this will allow the player to play through a funny/over the top game within a game known as Adventures of Lustra. The actual genre of this game will be a harem/breeder style game but in reality the premise will have the player jumping through hoops in order to unlock new content. Hello all! This has been an interesting week. Had to shift to a more marketing role for a bit since I\'ve got Steam Next Fest in a few days. Hoping to get some more wishlists and just get more people playing my game in general. I really don\'t care for the marketing aspect of the process to be honest, but it\'s necessary. I was able to get some actual development done though and the scenes that I added are actually pretty fun IMHO. This game is heavily choice-driven so a lot of the new content will depend on what actions the player takes. It\'s nice to give the player as much agency as possible while at the same time understanding that it\'s just a game so the objective should always be to have fun. Okay, end of rant. New Quest - The Things I do for Buns

This new quest will open up a new Rabbit Hole HQ location on the map as well as unlock a few characters and reunite the main character with a familiar face. This quest will involve finding 25 different rabbit npcs throughout the game. Each of which will unlock new content/characters/etc. You\'ll also get a new Fluffle app on your phone to track your progress.

New Dialogue and Questions Game with M and M

Mia and Maya dialogue has been added so Guy is able to interact with both of them at the Scooters location. You\'ll need to best both of them by answering all their questions correctly if you\'d like to be rewarded though.

New Repeatable Kitchen Activity with Bree

Added a repeatable activity in Guy\'s home where you can choose to eat breakfast/lunch/dinner depending on the time of day. You can also choose to spend time with Bree and have her cook you a meal which would allow you to grow your relationship with her.

Hey everyone, once again I\'ll start off by thanking you for joining me on this exciting ride! As you know (or may not know) Life of Guy is my first visual novel and I\'ve been developing and learning a lot in the process. I\'m just thrilled to create something that people might enjoy. Hello Everyone!

First let me just get something off my chest: \"Thank you!\" If you\'ve chosen to add my game to your Wishlist and/or tested out the demo app I\'d just like to let you know how much it\'s appreciated.

It\'s been pretty surreal to be able to write and develop this demo for you all and I\'m still hard at work currently adding more and more content to truly make this a more horizontal type of game where you\'re free to do a lot of activities that are outside the scope of the main story line in order to make the game world feel more alive.

I am specifically working on the npcs that appear at the Scooters location. I\'m adding dialogue and also questlines that will unlock conditionally depending on how you\'ve progressed throughout the game.

Look forward to more updates regularly. I truly want to create a fun game for you all to play. Cheers!
