Hi everyone, We're super happy many of you are checking out Wasteland 2 for this free weekend! Several of you have raised our attention to the fact that the free weekend is not launching the Director's Cut version of the game, only the original Wasteland 2. It was our intent to launch the Director's Cut for free over the weekend, and as soon as the issue came to our attention we contacted our friends at Valve to figure out why players were unable to try out the Director's Cut version. When you buy Wasteland 2 on Steam, you get both access to the original version of the game and the upgraded and expanded Director's Cut for free. This unique setup is great for anyone who owns Wasteland 2 on Steam, as it means they get both games. However, due to the way this interacts with the Steam backend setup for free weekends, only the original Wasteland 2 is freely accessible when you click the "Play" button and are prompted to install the game. We contacted Valve immediately about this issue and began talking with them to find a solution. However, the community went one above and found a way which we also started checking out for ourselves. After some further discussion with Valve, we got their OK to go ahead recommending this work-around which should let you play the Director's Cut during the free weekend: 1.
