About me:
I'm Jonas, 31 years old, from Germany. I'm a solo developer working on Retro Relics in my free time. I'm a passionate metal detectorist myself and have many years of experience in the hobby. Many of the relics you can find in the game, I have found myself in real life.

If you want to take part in the development of Retro Relics, have feedback or ideas for the game, you are very welcome to my small Discord community:
Retro Relic's Demo just received a major update!
I heard your feedback and worked hard on getting out this new patch for the game and the demo available to play.
There has been a major overhaul of the graphics:
I added a soft and gradient lighting system to visualize sunrays and making the visuals cozier and smoother. There are also new cloud shadows randomly passing through the levels.
I added a Graphics tab to the settings, so you can enable and disable the new graphic style to your likings.

I completely reworked the excavation mini game:
I got a lot of feedback on the digging / excavation mini game. It was often bugged with dirt patches not reacting to digging because of overlapping. Most of you also just dug away all of the dirt everytime and the Pinpointer mini detector was useless.
I know increased the number of dirt lumps to over 1000 and you can just dig away everywhere right ahead. Now you really need to locate the relic first with the help of the pinpointer.

I added a first implementation of Localization to new languages:
Retro Relics can now be played in English, German, Italian, French and Swedish. You can choose the language in the main menu or in the pause menu. Translations are work in progress and might be imperfect as of now. I will continously work on these.
Fixed several bugs and added QoL functionalities
Many of you also reported bugs or gave feedback on missing functionality that should be implemented in every game. I heard you and changed lot of systems. I fixed game crashes, item duplication glitches and improved the polish of the game. E.g. you can now click through the dialogues without having to hit the arrow. Much more has been improved.
Thanks to everyone who played the demo! it makes me very proud that I got so far and so many of you enjoyed playing Retro Relics.
I will post announcements and updates here more often as we are nearing the full release of Retro Relics.
Happy Hunting!
