The Nitro Turtles CHRISTMAS mini update has come out today for the free demo! Along with some small Christmas content, there\'s also some major improvements to speedrunning. Here\'s the patch notes:

Christmas Stuff:

• Added a new turtle character with a santa hat named Jingle

• Added a random item feature to normal racing mode with a 12% chance to spawn. For now, they look like a Christmas gifts!

Speedrunning:

• Added new lap leaderboards

  [/*]

• You can now filter the leaderboards by friend times

  [/*]

• You can now change your skin in speedrun mode

  [/*]

• You can now use performance-enhancing seaweed in midair

  [/*]

Balance:

• Performance-enhancing seaweed is now 25% faster

  [/*]

Bug fixes:

• Fixed a bug where the UI was stretched on local multiplayer with two players

  [/*]

• Fixed an issue with water fading out when close to the camera, which affected the bubble and the ocean

  [/*]

• Fixed an issue where the pause menu in the race lobby didn\'t stretch properly on resolutions over 1080p

  [/*]

• Fixed a bug where the restart button was in the race lobby and would softlock the game

  [/*]

• Fixed an issue where long Steam usernames caused text overflow on race results

  [/*]

• Added a potential fix for pressing R to restart twice in speedrunning mode would crash on certain hardware

• Added a potential fix for the game launching with resolutions over the screensize and making it impossible to access settings

Other:

• Removed dash pad particles and made dash pads slightly brighter for visual clarity

Known issues:

• Windowing problems and issues with fullscreen are being investigated

• You can press pause on the speedrun or race results menu and make it impossible to click on them after exiting the pause menu

Thanks to everyone who\'s played the demo so far! It\'s been really cool to see everyone trying out the game and getting awesome leaderboard times. There\'s probably going to be 1-2 small updates and patches like this for the demo and then development focus will be turned towards the full game which is coming March 10, 2026!
