A roguelike deckbuilder without heavy RNG? Yes!
Dominova is no gambling simulator. The way you place your dominoes will determine most of your success. Building your deck, learning and mastering each domino type, choosing the correct upgrades will gain you massive advantages that will have a way bigger impact on the outcome of your run.
Explore the board
The more dominoes you place, the more the board expands, presenting new challenges and rewards. Depending on the obstacle you'll need to choose the right domino. Remove rocks with a hammer domino. Destroy ice with a fire domino. Protect your dominoes against a bomb with a shield domino. Collect rewards with the magnet domino.
Score points
The longer the domino chain, the higher you score. Not enough points? Then it's game over. Falling meteors will fill the board with new obstacles trying to break the domino chain. It is up to you to make sure you remain in control of the board, by either defending your dominoes or by removing obstacles.
Buy Nova cards
The success of your run is highly determined by buying Nova Cards. These cards can create powerful effects or score bonuses when you meet their requirements. When you match the correct Nova Cards with the right dominoes, crazy synergies will happen.
Defeat the Nova-Animals
There are 40 Nova-Animals that can hinder your progress. They all have their own ability that will put your deck and strategy to the test.
Features:
10 decks with each their own characteristics and difficulty ascension system
160+ nova cards that will determine the outcome of your run
26 upgradable domino pieces
40 bosses that will challenge your strategy
Every completed or failed run improves your build
Leaderboards to compare your score against other players
Endless mode
Hello everyone,
It was time to implement Steam Deck and controller support. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done. Now you can play Dominova while bedrotting, what a time to be alive!
You can move the cursor with the control stick.
Select and place dominoes with the A button (south button).
Rotate and remove dominoes with the B button (eastern button).
You can adjust the control stick sensitivity in the settings. No rebinding (yet, I don't know, it's kind of tricky to do with localization)
The game should be completely playable on Steam Deck. I also made some UI tweaks to make sure everything is readable.
If you play the game on Steam Deck I'd love to hear your feedback. I don't have a Steam Deck myself so it's hard to check if everything works as it should.
Thanks for playing and have a nice day!
Glenn
