Match Tree is a match 3 game, where each of your turns has consequences.
Merge plants sown by pixies, gnomes and witches.
Bushes become trees, trees become houses.
The rules are simple, the levels are short and you will refine your puzzle skills with each round.
Are you clever enough to face the challenges of the various levels?
The characters sow plants for you to merge and upgrade.
The hex fields allow a multitude of different combinations. Decide how many plants you merge and where to grow the result.
It’s your decision where to place characters, when they are stuck.
Use tools, like the magic wand to solve tricky situations.
But beware of the hangry sheep!
Merry Christmas! - New (Christmas)Demo
First of all we want to wish you some relaxing and nice days with your beloved ones!
Localization
We decided to update the Demo of Match Tree as we would like to test something. We invested some time and money to do translations so the game is now available in 14 languages:
English
[/*]German
[/*]Sheep
[/*]Chinese Simple
[/*]Chinese traditional
[/*]Danish
[/*]French
[/*]Japanese
[/*]Korean
[/*]Brazilian
[/*]Spanish
[/*]Turkish
[/*]Ukrainian
[/*]Russian
[/*]
We did this with the lovely people from "From the Void".
This demo also includes 5 brand new level. And the hangry sheep gets a companion.
THE DONKEY

You can find out in the demo what he does.
Platforms
As we use Godot it wasn't too difficult to build for Mac and Linux so now we have native versions. And it runs much better on the Steam Deck than we expected. Playing with touch is awesomesauce!
Music
And the best news at the end. Our Audio Artist Mathilde did a absolut great job creating an adaptive music track where the characters sing along. We do not release all instruments in the demo but the vocals, drums and bass will give you a pretty good idea about the vibes.
We are flabbergasted by the response to the trailer and demo for our tiny, quirky game experiment. It started as a small Godot experiment and became a real game people actually play. Crazy!
As we don't approach it as a usual "commercial" game where you think a lot about target audience, how to reach people, etc we were surprised it resonates so well with you people out there.
Most of our decisions around the game and what we want to do is based around if we find it fun or a good learning experience and for someone like me, who made games for a living for more than 25 years this is a liberating, fun experience.
Thanks to all the feedback we got through the in-game reporting tool we addressed some things in an update:
Vsync is now really on or the game is limited to 144 frames max
[/*]we added "sheep" as a language (a good example of a silly idea, but also a proof we can translate the game very well. We are now looking for help to translate it in as many languages as we can)
[/*]changed the map "Misplaced" a bit and added one more solar energy. While we like that you like the difficulty of the game, we thought this is a tiny bit too much for the first real map)
[/*]adding "Best Turns" to the maps
[list]Can be turned of in options if this stresses you out
[/*]Shows your turns while playing
[/*]Saves your best round (the lesser turns you need, the better)
[/*]Shows you a badge when you beat your own turns
[/*]
Main menu works on 16:10 now and doesnt have grey bars anymore
[/*]A lot smaller fixes I forgot to write down (sorry)
[/*]Please keep reaching out with feedback, ideas and thoughts. I'm reading all of your lovely comments every morning and it's making my day! A lot cool suggestions and input.
Mh Bah!
