The Neeblarium is a calm, living simulation about cultivating tiny digital creatures called Neeblies and deciding what’s worth preserving. You don’t control Neeblies directly. You shape conditions, observe what emerges, and intervene only when it matters.
Over time, families form. Lineages diverge. Rare traits appear. Some discoveries are fleeting. Others are worth saving.
Use your Lab to capture traits you’ve discovered and reintroduce them as new founders. Run multiple biomes as experiments, each telling its own quiet evolutionary story.
The world keeps moving whether you act or not.
An artificial life sim about attention, care, and making something last.
Your role in The Neeblarium:
Establish conditions for life within a running ecosystem
Introduce eggs and observe Neeblies grow, adapt, and reproduce on their own
Watch families form and lineages diverge across generations
Notice mutations, rare traits, and subtle behavioral differences as they emerge naturally
Use a Lab to preserve discovered traits and reintroduce them as new founders
Run multiple biomes in parallel, each evolving independently over time
Decide when to intervene, curate, or simply let things run
Your choices shape long-term outcomes, but the system never demands constant micromanagement.
You can be hands-on, or almost completely hands-off.
The simulation doesn’t demand constant input — but it does reward attention.
This update is all about making the Neeblarium easier to read, easier to use, and easier to understandespecially as the engineering, blueprint, and achievement systems deepen.
Nothing flashy. Just meaningful polish where it matters.

A Big Thank You
If youve followed along, wishlisted, tested builds, or simply waited patientlythank you.\nThis release is a meaningful milestone, and the start of the next chapter.
The neeblarium doors are open, lets see what grows.
Build 1360 is one of those moments where a lot of long-running threads finally tie together.
This update closes several core-loop gaps and pushes the Neeblarium firmly into its intended shape:\ndiscover understand preserve refine progress.
Im not listing every change herethere are too manybut the highlights below capture what fundamentally changed about how the game plays.

Neeblies Are Now Worth Knowing
Neeblies finally have real traits, real rarity, and real identityand the game now supports discovering and caring about them long-term.
Traits and rarity are no longer abstract numbers
[/*]You discover what makes a Neeblie special
[/*]Lineage, heritage, and family history matter
[/*]Rare finds feel meaningful, not accidental
[/*]
This closes a major loop: observation now leads to intention.

The Neeblie Collection Library
You now have a proper way to browse, review, and manage your Neeblies.
See your population as a collection, not a blur
[/*]Navigate by lineage, rarity, and traits
[/*]Make informed decisions about who to preserve, study, or blueprint
[/*]
This is a big quality-of-life leapand a necessary step toward deeper genetics play.

Heritage & Lineage, Fully Realized
Family trees are no longer just a concepttheyre visible, persistent, and meaningful.
Full genealogy tracking across generations
[/*]Clear lineage relationships
[/*]Long-term family identity instead of disposable populations
[/*]
Your colony now tells stories over time.

The Blueprint Loop (Core Progression Unlock)
This is a huge one.
You can now:
Extract DNA from exceptional Neeblies
[/*]Create Blueprints to preserve their genetics
[/*]Carry those genetics forward intentionally
[/*]Build toward specific goals instead of rolling the dice
[/*]
This is the backbone of selective breeding, cross-biome play, and long-term progression.

Scrapbook & Achievements Reimagined
The Scrapbook has been completely reworked to align with how progression actually happens now.
Discoveries, achievements, and milestones finally feel connected
[/*]Progress is tracked across your profile, not just one run
[/*]The interface is clearer, calmer, and more intentional
[/*]
Charms now have context. Progress has memory.

New: Engineering Systems
A brand-new system layer introduces more advanced interactions and long-term tools.
This is still earlybut it opens the door to deeper control, customization, and future mechanics that go beyond simple caretaking.

UI & UX Polish Across the Board
A lot of small but important refinements landed here:
Cleaner discovery browsing
[/*]Clearer sectioning and navigation
[/*]Reduced UI friction
[/*]Better alignment between systems that used to feel separate
[/*]
The game is steadily becoming easier to read and harder to misunderstand.

Why This Update Matters
Build 1360 is where the Neeblarium really starts to feel like it knows what it is.
Discovery drives progression
[/*]Traits and rarity are earned, not handed out
[/*]Preservation replaces hoarding
[/*]Systems reinforce each other instead of competing
[/*]
Theres still balancing to do. There will still be bugs.\nBut the core loop is finally closingand thats a big deal.
More refinement, tuning, and visual polish are coming next.\nFor now: enjoy discovering what your Neeblies have been quietly becoming all along.
This is the big one.
Build 1263 is a total UX and UI refactornot a feature drop, not a balance pass, but a ground-up rethink of how the Neeblarium works, how you interact with it, and how progression will feel going forward.
Im intentionally not listing everything here. This update isnt about a checklistits about laying the foundation for Early Access.

What Changed (At a High Level)
A New Progression Philosophy
Progression is now centered on color curation and lineage, rather than raw population growth.
Start with common green Neeblies
[/*]Work your way through increasingly rare hues
[/*]Discover legendary magenta
[/*]And ultimately chase the mythical golden Neeblie
[/*]
Color isnt cosmetic anymoreits the spine of progression.

Heritage, Lineage & Genealogy
Neeblies are no longer isolated creatures. They belong to families, with history.
Full heritage and lineage tracking
[/*]Genealogy that actually matters
[/*]Long-term strain identity instead of disposable populations
[/*]
Your colony is something you cultivate, not just manage.

Blueprints & Egg Encoding
You can now:
Blueprint your most interesting Neeblies
[/*]Encode eggs directly from those blueprints
[/*]Isolate, breed, mutate, and refine strains intentionally
[/*]Work toward specific genetic and color goals
[/*]
This is the core loop the game has been slowly orbiting toward.

Important Alpha Notes
This is a refactor build, and it shows.
Please expect:
Bugs
[/*]Rough edges
[/*]Unbalanced economy and progression
[/*]Disabled systems:
Tutorial
[/*]Achievements
[/*]
Placeholder or outdated visuals
[/*]That said:\n This is the baseline.\nThe UI, UX, and workflows you see here are the shape of the Early Access experience.

Whats Next
With the new foundation in place, the focus shifts to:
Refactoring the progression & rarity systems to fully support the new UX
[/*]Rebalancing the economy around curation, not hoarding
[/*]Re-introducing tutorials and achievements in a way that fits the new flow
[/*]Visual polish and clarity passes
[/*]
Now the real tuning begins.

Why This Matters
This update isnt flashyits structural.
Its the difference between adding features and building a game that can grow.
If youve been waiting for the Neeblarium to feel cohesive, intentional, and future-proofedthis is that moment.
Thank you for sticking with it.
A cozy update focused on lineage clarity, better naming, and cleaner colony browsinghelping Keepers follow the lives (and families!) of their Neeblies with more heart and less clutter.

Family Lineage Highlighting
You can now see a Neeblies entire living family at a glance.
Click a Neeblies family name in the detail panel to illuminate every relative with a glowing, generation-coded halo:
White the selected Neeblie
[/*]Gold / Amber older generations
[/*]Cyan / Blue younger generations
[/*]Purple same generation
[/*]
This shows generational relationships within a family line (not full ancestry trees), giving your biome an immediate sense of history and depth.\nClick again to hide the highlights; click a third time to show them again. Switching Neeblies resets the view automatically.

Collection Sidebar Improvements
A handful of polish changes make colony browsing cleaner and easier:
Simplified count labels (now simply 3/50)
[/*]Deceased Neeblies are now visibly inactive: no hover glow, no cursor changes, no click sounds
[/*]Removed raw lineage IDs from family names
[/*]Fixed layout quirks in the 128px preview grid
[/*]
Small touches that add up to a more peaceful, readable interface.

Name System Overhaul
Fallback names like Blee89 and Glip25 are now a thing of the past.
This update:
Introduces a curated database of 10,947 hand-filtered names
[/*]Removes the old neutral name bucket that caused fallback generation
[/*]Ensures children correctly inherit family lineage every time
[/*]Refreshes the name cache so all new Neeblies get proper names
[/*]Cleans out earlier classification artifacts
[/*]
Result: Neeblie names now feel consistent, intentional, and much more alive.

Bug Fixes & Stability
Fixed rare crashes from freed-instance neighbor lookups
[/*]Corrected lineage inheritance for newborn Neeblies
[/*]Sidebar now updates cleanly when Neeblies die or are renamed
[/*]More robust UI behavior for deceased Neeblies
[/*]

Thank you for your patience, curiosity, and support.\nThe Neeblarium has never been stronger beneath the glass.
Build 1042
Hey Keepers,
Its been a little quiet through November, but that doesnt mean things have stopped growing. Most of the recent updates have been happening inside the playtest beta branch, so if youre on the main branch, you havent seen much of the work yet.
Behind the scenes, Im deep into a major refactor of the core data and simulation systems the kind of work that doesnt show flashy results right away, but strengthens everything underneath.

Why This Refactor Matters
This rewrite is focused on making the simulation cleaner, more consistent, and easier to build on.\nIt touches almost every part of the Neeblarium, and its laying the groundwork for future features without overcommitting to anything specific yet.
Once its ready, the playtest branch will get a substantial update, and the main branch will follow after stability checks.

What to Expect
A noticeably sturdier foundation for the simulation
[/*]More consistent behavior across large colonies
[/*]A smoother experience as the systems settle
[/*]A consolidated update that bundles everything since Build 849
[/*]
Im taking the time to get this right, since these changes affect nearly every system in the game.

Thank You
Thanks for your patience during this quieter stretch.\nThe work isnt flashy, but its important and its close.
More soon.

Highlights
This update strengthens two of the Neeblariums most important systems: world persistence and ecosystem decay.\nYour saves are now safer than ever, and your Florin Beds live or fade exactly as nature intends.

Abandoned Bed Decay Now in Full Effect
Florin Beds are living ecosystems, and they now behave like it.
Beds need residents: Neeblies nourish Florin simply by living there.
[/*]Abandonment has consequence:
Below 30 % Florin, food begins to rot and water evaporates.
[/*]Below 10 %, decay accelerates dramatically.
[/*]
Healthy beds thrive: Above 50 % Florin, resources regenerate faster up to 2 at full health.
[/*]Natural cleanup: Empty or failed colonies now fade gracefully instead of lingering.
[/*]

You cant over-extend anymore; each bed you plant must be cared for or reclaimed.\nSpiragrow fertilizer and smart population planning are now essential to long-term success.
Save System Stability Critical Fixes
A major reliability upgrade ensures your progress is never lost again.
No more empty saves: The system now validates every save before writing. If a timing hiccup occurs, it rejects the bad data and keeps your previous world safe.
[/*]One save at a time: A new locking system prevents overlapping auto-saves or shutdown saves from colliding.
[/*]Better feedback: If the game ever skips a save, youll see a clear warning instead of silent data loss.
[/*]Improved diagnostics: Internal logs now track whats happening behind the scenes for easier monitoring.
[/*]

In short: your Neeblies, your beds, and your progress are protected even if something goes wrong mid-save.
Additional Fixes
Resolved a rare crash caused by family-presence checks referencing freed Neeblies after long play sessions.
[/*]Minor stability and debug improvements throughout the save pipeline.
[/*]
In Short
Build 622 makes the Neeblarium both hardier and more honest.\nBeds now live and die naturally, and your world stays perfectly preserved between visits.
