• Eat your friend's arm? (Context: it looks very tasty, and you're famished.)
• Shun the scary loser to look cool... or comfort them and become a "loser" yourself?

YOUR INSTINCTS BIND YOU

You emerge from a gooey vat, starving, naked, and alone. You wander the back streets of Asch, the monster metropolis, struggling to survive. Like your fellow monsters, you're plagued by vicious instincts. And it's comfortable to give into those instinctsyour GREED stat makes it easier to hoard valuables than to share; your MALICE makes it compelling to attack the weak just for the thrill; and your DOCILITY forces you to lie around when you could be working.

BRAINS, GUTS, AND FLESH HELP YOU

But you represent an unexpected branch in monster evolution. You have reserves of BRAINS, GUTS, and FLESH, which you can expend to overcome your base instincts. Maybe you'll use your BRAINS to persuade a group of warring orphans to band together. Or you'll spend some GUTS points to boldly challenge a dangerous wolverine. Marshall your reserves carefully, though, because if these precious resources run dry, you won't be able to resist the urge to tear a friend's arm off when you're hungry.

Grow up, grow old, and maybe even grow wise. Make friends, allies, and enemies. Break out of the slums, assemble your own gang, explore the wilderness, and unravel the political intrigue keeping monsterkind from clawing out of the pit of brutality. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBPdjvK7dyk In T-Minus 30, you explore a post-apocalyptic environment and scavenge its resources to build enough rockets to save a small pocket of humanity.
You start with a tiny settlement, where you till, irrigate, and farm the land to feed your people. As you expand, you exploit natural resources to build homes and roadways. You seek remnants of ancient civilization, mining ancient skyscrapers for their plastics and scavenging metal from the husks of automobiles you find in long-abandoned junkyards.
With those resources, you can either go high tech, building up solar farms and hydroponics labs to stock sleek generational ships that each rescue thousands of evacuees, or stay low-tech, brute-forcing your population off the Earth by building massive numbers of 1960s era rocketry.

We've put a monsterous amount of work into our latest update! We could scare you upright with all the terrifying details of complete engine replacement and dazzle you with the romantic mystery of bug-hunting, but you probably just want the straight facts. You know, about the lovely stuff that you, Friend of Monsters, can enjoy.

• Full gamepad and steam streaming support. You can now sit on your couch comfortably and scroll through the game without mouse or keyboard! Fun for the whole family (or house parties?!)
• Full touchscreen support while we're at it. We hear those tablet computers are a hot thing in those human cities!
• Full native Linux support! Maybe we will make a joke about a penguin in a tuxdeo here... No? Too forced?
• Thanks to the completely new engine on the back-end, your monsterly adventures will be running faster, smoother, and with at least three more fidelities than were ever previously possible!

Note: This new version will unfortunately dissolve your last saved adventure into the goo pits for future monster generations. If you really want to finish off that one last quest, you can revert to the "Classic" edition in Steam's properties menu (under the betas tab).
