Guacamelee! Gold Edition is a Metroid-vania style action-platformer set in a magical Mexican inspired world. The game draws its inspiration from traditional Mexican culture and folklore, and features many interesting and unique characters.
Guacamelee! builds upon the classic open-world Metroid-vania style of games, by adding a strong melee combat component, a new dimension switching mechanic, and cooperative same-screen multiplayer for the entire story. DrinkBox Studios 2019 Year in Review
This year we travelled to a few places including the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, as well as Spain where Cuxo did a concept art workshop with Nintendo for their Day of the Dead festivities.
At Awesome Games Done Quick 2019 we watched @TheBlacktastic do an excellent Guacamelee! 2 speedrun which was so exciting it ground production in our office to a halt!
This year we welcomed back Steele to help us out on production on our new projects, as well as Gabby (thats me!) to the DrinkBox team.
Juan made an appearance as a playable character in Riverbond and will be a guest character in Indivisible. Were super excited to see him in two of our favourite games and cant wait to play!
Its been a busy year for us! We're still working away on our secret project and are excited to share more when we can.

Happy holidays! 2019 was an eventful year for us, and we wanted to take some time to reflect on our past year and share some highlights.
We brought a lot of our games to new platforms this year including:
